“It is netter to be hated for telling the truth than to be loved for telling a lie. It is better to stand alone with the truth than to be wrong with a multitude.” - Adrian Rogers

It is interesting to consider the meaning of the noun, "netter" as it dates from the 1400's and has the meaning of "someone who makes nets" or "who is a fisherman" but if Adrian Rogers lived 1931-2005 and was a Baptist Pastor and writer, and also President of the Southern Baptist Convention for three terms, then the (slang) meaning could be more recent and be a reference to someone who spends a lot of time on the internet. Or "netter" is being used in the sense of "neither or" which for me seems closer to what the intended meaning is in this quote.

Or “netter” was a typo. Thanks for reading. Sometimes I have the feeling that these quotes are just words whispered in the wind.
