Not sure I understand…

I have never heard that interpretation before… interesting!
But, can you tell me how the 7, 62 and 1 week fit in with this? Didn’t the 70 weeks start at the decree to build and restore Jerusalem?

Thanks.
I have never heard that before either. curious to hear his answer

I believe the 7 weeks were the ministry of John the Baptist and the 62 weeks were the ministry of Jesus.

Yes I know we’ve been taught the ministry of Jesus was 3 1/2 years but the same “scholars” that say that will also the 70 weeks are weeks of years.

The only week that matters as far as proving the weeks are literal weeks is the 70th week. Jesus rode into Jerusalem on Palm Sunday, he was crucified a few days later and then exactly 7 days from Palm Sunday he rose from the dead
what do we do with the part that says the 70 weeks start with the command to restore jerusalem. Meaning the 70 weeks started with the command from Artexerxes to Nehemiah as found in Neh 2..

@Eternally Grateful

It doesn’t say 70 weeks starts with the command to restore Jerusalem.

The command is to 1) Restore and 2) Build (not rebuild) Jerusalem (heavenly Jerusalem).

1) Mat 17:11 And Jesus answered and said unto them, Elias truly shall first come, and restore all things.

2)Mat 16:18 And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.

Actually yes it does. And it has nothing to do with heavenly jerusalem. it is about the jerusalem that lay in ruins at the time of Daniels prayer.

24 “Seventy [e]weeks are determined For your people and for your holy city,

This is who the prophecy concerns

1. Daniels people (Nation of Isreal)
2. Daniels city - Jerusalem (earthly)

To finish the transgression, To make an end of sins, To make reconciliation for iniquity, To bring in everlasting righteousness, To seal up vision and prophecy, And to anoint [g]the Most Holy.

This is what will be fulfilled at the end of the 70 weeks.l concerning the people of Daniel and his city.

NON of these have been fulfilled yet

25 “Know therefore and understand, That from the going forth of the command To restore and build Jerusalem Until Messiah the Prince,
There shall be seven weeks and sixty-two weeks;

1. We have here a statement we can confirm. from the command to restor and build jerusalem (given in Neh 2) until messiah the prince will be 7 weeks and 62 weeks (literally 69 weeks)
2. We know this is weeks of years. or a seven year week. Not a 7 day week
3. This would be 483 years (according to the jerish calendar)
4. We know, by checking history. that the time from the command given to Nehemiah, until the day Jesus entered Jerusalem on a donkey as prophesied. was literally 483 jewish years. hence scripture is fulfilled and confirmed

we also know. Jesus was "cut off" immediately after he was introduced to jerusalem, just as Daniel 9 says he would.

I’m familiar with that view.

That view?

Can yuo take us all back to daniel 9, And look and share with us everything Daniel said And Gabriels response to everything that daniel said. and show us how you get "your view" in context of what was said by both parties?
I won’t debate it with you because the 70 weeks deal with Daniels visions and have nothing to do with Daniels prayer.

then there is no debate to be had.

Daniels 70 weeks are Gods answer to daniels prayer.

anyone with a keen eye and who can read and look in context can see this.

but this explains why your the only one who believes the way you do..and answers our question.

(ps. if you really had proof of your idea. you would easily take us back to daniel 9. but since you refuse.. You prety much told us you do not know and can not back your view)

The messenger Angel stood there and told Daniel it was.

Daniel 9:21-23
21 Yea, whiles I was speaking in prayer, even the man Gabriel, whom I had seen in the vision at the beginning, being caused to fly swiftly, touched me about the time of the evening oblation.

22 And he informed me, and talked with me, and said, O Daniel, I am now come forth to give thee skill and understanding.

23 At the beginning of thy supplications the commandment came forth, and I am come to shew thee; for thou art greatly beloved: therefore understand the matter, and consider the vision.../KJV

The supplications that the Angel spoke of were Daniel's prayer. God was hearing Daniel and already knew the prayer and so He said, Gabriel, go to Daniel and explain these things...

Tell me about the vision in Daniel 9 that Gabriel came to explain to Daniel.

the 70 weeks prophecy are the answers to Daniel's prayer.

do you know what Daniel prayed? Do you know who and where he was praying for. do you know why he was praying?
Yes he was confessing how wicked theJews were and how they were under the evil that God promised would come because of their wickedness. And he was asking for God to take turn his anger away.
