On the one side there is tradition, what has become popular and useful to the greater numbers of people. Many factors shape what becomes popular. On the other side is the truth of the matter. The truth doesn't change through all of the factors that shape daily life.

The words of God don't change...but we all like sheep have gone astray.

When looking for what the bible really teaches one has to look for the evidence, and ignore the previous theories. If something is true then it will stand up to the deepest scrutiny. Engage the evidence.

God has the final word.

Remembrance would be why you are blotted out.
Malachi 3:16-17 KJV
16) Then they that feared the LORD spake often one to another: and the LORD hearkened, and heard it, and a book of remembrance was written before him for them that feared the LORD, and that thought upon his name.
17) And they shall be mine, saith the LORD of hosts, in that day when I make up my jewels; and I will spare them, as a man spareth his own son that serveth him.

Much love!

Book of remembrance.....as in "do this in remembrance of me". Think all those books are the same thing....book of remembrance is the book of life is the Lamb's book of life. Meaning we won't be "forgotten" by God when we die, but He will raise us up to life....because we belong to the Lamb

Only two destinies for mankind referenced in the new testament....it's either repent or perish......eternal life or perish like the beasts. That verse in Revelation is typical bible language which repeats the same idea in a second way. (But it's possible it could be hinting of two levels of both sin and righteousness and therefore two levels of rewards and punishments though....just possibly.)

At any rate, doing a quick word study of unjust and filthy and wicked......well, it's all talking about the same thing. Lost souls, sinners....unsaved. Not made righteous. Filthy conversation of the wicked. All perishing in other words.

Pro 11:7

When a wicked man dieth, his expectation shall perish: and the hope of unjust men perisheth.

Selective readers will only see two destinies even when all four are being clearly delineated. Way before there can be any sort of spiritual discernment and understanding...there has to be an honesty in reading the text. Before God helps us to understand what is hidden from the natural mind, there needs to be a proper use of the natural mind.

Repentance comes before mercy.

There is only life or death Epi. Nothing in between those two. "Behold I have set before you life or death."

Outer darkness, by the way, is death. That is like "night cometh when no man may work"....the darkness of night is speaking of when each one dies.

Selective reading. Life and death and blessing and cursing. 4 variables. 4 possibilities. Of course only the living have access to the other 2 possibilities of blessing and cursing.

Outer darkness, by the way, is death.

Not so. All who believe in Jesus have passed from death to life...or do you deny that? Then it becomes a question as to whether one is fit for honour or dishonour. Read the bible. Go away I never knew you???? To where? To a place of darkness where people wander forever. Dead people don't wander.

These are spots in your feasts of charity, when they feast with you, feeding themselves without fear: clouds they are without water, carried about of winds; trees whose fruit withereth, without fruit, twice dead, plucked up by the roots; Raging waves of the sea, foaming out their own shame; wandering stars, to whom is reserved the blackness of darkness for ever. Jude 12-13

Vessels of dishonour are many in our time. Stubborn, unteachable, lacking any fear of God....confident, claiming to be saved, be rich...

That is like "night cometh when no man may work"....the darkness of night is speaking of when each one dies.
Not at all. It is talking about a time when there is a great falling away...like right now. A time of darkness where people live by imagination....in a dream-like state where make-believe is seen as reality. Naming and claiming is only possible because there is no light of truth to dispel the imaginations.

Blessing is life, curse is death.

Those wandering stars are doing their wandering now....carried about of winds....of false doctrines. Stars that are out of orbit so to speak.....not rooted in the Truth, which is Christ and His doctrine. Death/destruction in the lake of fire is reserved for them.

Again, reading skills and honesty are required to be able to understand what is written. I've already heard many of the ways to misunderstand the text.

Wandering forever is not the same as wandering now. A four year old can discern the difference.

Another thing that is done to eliminate the 4 destinies is to describe the book of life at the GWT judgment as a book of death...as if all who are resurrected to stand before the GWT are thrown into the lake of fire. Again, with a little reading skills and some honesty, the text doesn't say that all are cast into the lake of fire. It says that a book was opened and whoever was NOT written in the book was cast into the lake of fire.

An honest reader would see 2 distinct possibilities. One...that a person's name is in the book...or that a person's name is not in the book.

It's like saying. Anybody who was not seated in the bus had to walk. Does that mean that all had to walk?

Religious indoctrination takes away the freedom from being able to be honest and logical.

13 And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works.

14 And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death.

15 And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.

Death and teh grave are destroyed so when one is cast into teh lake of fire- they live their eternally in torment.

Ronald, what you posted is found in Rev. 20: 13-15 which is the great white throne judgement.

Have you considered the Bema seat judgement, as in judgement begins at the house of God.

For the time has come for judgment to begin at the house of God; and if it begins with us first, what will be the end of those who do not obey the gospel of God? 1 Pet. 4:17

For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ; that every one may receive the things done in his body, according to that he hath done, whether it be good or bad. 2 Cor 5:10

But in a great house there are not only vessels of gold and of silver, but also of wood and of earth; and some to honour, and some to dishonour. 2 Tim. 20:20

This verse I believe speaks of the people who were saved and were of the house of God but are vessels of dishonour. Where do you suppose that they end up??

If any man's work shall be burned, he shall suffer loss: but he himself shall be saved; yet so as by fire. 1 Cor. 3:15

But the rest of the dead lived not again until the thousand years were finished. This is the first resurrection. Rev. 20:5

Blessed and holy is he that hath part in the first resurrection: on such the second death hath no power, but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with him a thousand years. Rev 20:6

Perhaps there is more to consider than you supposed. Prayfully consider the whole counsel of God and allow Him to show you.

Peace

Need ears to hear. It's just an allegory Epi. And it's only the darkness that is forever, ie, death......death that they are not coming back from hence it is forever.

Therefore speak I to them in parables: because they seeing see not; and hearing they hear not, neither do they understand.
And in them is fulfilled the prophecy of Esaias, which saith, By hearing ye shall hear, and shall not understand; and seeing ye shall see, and shall not perceive:
For this people's heart is waxed gross, and their ears are dull of hearing, and their eyes they have closed; lest at any time they should see with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and should understand with their heart, and should be converted, and I should heal them.

Yes exactly....need ears to hear what the Spirit is saying. It's not in a literal sense, but more shall we say, poetic. Poetic license, imagery and play on words etc..

That could be one way to diminish the Word.
Unless it isn't. Scripture itself tells us what it is talking about.........what are the winds that are being referred to? Scripture itself tells us:

Jde 1:12

These are spots in your feasts of charity, when they feast with you, feeding themselves without fear: clouds they are without water, carried about of winds; trees whose fruit withereth, without fruit, twice dead, plucked up by the roots;

Raging waves of the sea, foaming out their own shame; wandering stars, to whom is reserved the blackness of darkness for ever.

Eph 4:14

That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive

It is saying in a manner of speaking, if anyone becomes a wandering star and having no fear of God (and never repents of their error), well here is the suitable place in outer space reserved for them where they will end up forever...blackest darkness....of death. No eternal life for them in other words.

Correct-mention cessationism and I guess I'm could become a "wandering star?"

Having said that--4 destinies?

Revelation 2:7:

"He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches. To the one who conquers I will grant to eat of the tree of life, which is in the paradise of God."
Revelation 2:11:

"He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches. The one who conquers will not be hurt by the second death."
Revelation 2:17:

"He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches. To the one who conquers I will give some of the hidden manna, and I will give him a white stone, with a new name written on the stone that no one knows except the one who receives it."
Revelation 3:6:

"He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches."
Revelation 3:13:

"He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches."
Revelation 3:22:

"He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches."
In these passages, the phrase is used to encourage readers to listen attentively and respond to the messages conveyed to the churches. It highlights the need for spiritual awareness and responsiveness to the guidance of the Holy Spirit.
