Two thoughts on what you shared. Maybe this is my religious mind set of judging others. But I only want to share it with you for feedback. If you say …that’s your judging. Ok. But it impacted me so I want to share it. There is a pastor I listened to…one of my favorites in the beginning of reading the word. I listened to all of his sermons. To me…he was the man!Righteousness begins at loving others as ourselves. The second great commandment. If I love others, then I won't offend them by what I do that I have a choice in doing.
The one who is afraid to eat is weak in faith. But sometimes a brother or sister needs to crawl before they can walk. Our freedom should not cause offense to others. If the music in your house is offending your neighbour...wouldn't you turn it down or off?
Good. Notice BOTH the goodness and severity of God. A Pharisee will see the severity ONLY for unbelievers..not realizing that God judges those who judge.
A saint should know better...and is to live sacrificially among others...thus inspiring righteousness in others. Think of holiness as a fire, and righteousness as the warmth of the fire for others to bask in.
Paul's judgment was from a religious ideology that made him condemn anyone who challenged the standard way that the Torah was being understood. Again, same thing happening in modern churchianity with the gospel.
A righteous man does everything by the knowledge given to him. But the people of God are taken further and by a lack of knowledge of WHAT IS FURTHER, they perish.
Faith is like legs that walk us to the door to ask, seek and knock.
Stop looking down...and start looking up.
I’ll share it here because I can’t explain it. If you’ll listen …a little ways in.
In the beginning I thought wow! But now when I listened to it the other day for the first time in a while, it sounded off. I get some people may disagree but listening now this is what stood out…by acknowledging with boldness how much God hates, despises, abortion bloated out in a grandstand of I Will take a stand against abortion because I stand up without fear for what is wrong and aborting children God HATES…the strong acknowledgment of what God HATES…the whole message centered around “few there find the way”. To me …who are called to be lights for the way? Who stands at the entrance and as He told the Pharisees “not only do you not enter in, you keep those desiring to enter in, from entering.” Ironically a pastor (again I’m not trying to bash him as Paul was a favorite) preaches on how much God hates abortion …never considering the judgment of God against those that abort God’s Children from entering in where it’s warned “few find the way”. to me “few find it” wasn’t praise for “few find the way” but meant to scatter the door blocking in “prevent not the little children from coming to Me.” Maybe it’s my judgmental attitude to even question a pastor. But it woke me up to at least how we acknowledge strongly what is wrong —by the words of our own proclamation coming out from our mouths) in what we go up against, when sometimes the very thing we fight against is ourself doing the same exact thing. Like boldly acknowledging God hates abortion. Then aborting His children and calling it not the same as what we say He hates.
Lastly:
“Faith is like legs that walk us to the door to ask, seek and knock.” That is what I was trying to say about the exchange where Christ speaks in Paul to the Corinthians…Paul walking in Christ …stands outside the door…asking, seeking, knocking on the Corinthians door to come in a sup with them. They return “liar” …He stands outside knocking…
