You are not understanding Paul. The cross he spoke of was the power that separated him from the world.

The Cross is explained by Paul as.. "That Jesus loved me and died for me". "gave Himself for me".

Where?

A.) The Cross of Christ

Read : John 3:16

You have a very superficial grasp of what Paul was speaking of. He was NOT religious,

Christianity is not a Religion.

CHRISTiany is Jesus in all the born again, and the born again are all "One With God".

God became One of Us, to offer "the Gift of Salvation and "The Gift of Righteousness" to all of us.

The power of God unto salvation is the experience of the carnal part of a person being crucified..

An unbeliever can control their lust, so, that is your understanding of Salvation.

Whereas a born again Child of God, has been given a spiritual birth by God Himself.

To have this Jesus told you..

"You Must be born again".

Keep reading yourself into the bible as you wish. And that's what you get.

The Cross of Christ puts every born again believer into the Bible.

Read where the NT says....of all the FORGIVEN.. Redeemed by the BLOOD of the LAMB, =- Born again.. that they are ALL...

"In Christ'..
"One with God"...
"Made Righteous"..
"The Temple of the Holy Spirit"...
"seated in Heavenly Places"...
"Bride of Christ"..
"Heir of God".. .
"Joint Heir of Jesus"...
"Child of the Light"..

And @Episkopos , the reason you dont SEE the Born again as those "SONS/Daughter"s of God, as it says of them in the Bible, is... i suspect because you dont actually use a Bible.
That's obvious, as your "terminology", such as "higher walk in Zion" and "the outer man", are not found in a bible.

You should be honest and tell these Members that you tend to abuse, what commentary series = what man-made teaching series, you are using that you pretend you wrote......

lol.

Christ went to the cross to atone for sin. that that we may be made alive.

You have a social gospel yourself. its all about you you you
Christ did indeed go to the cross to atone for our sins....that we may be made Alive in Christ, how are we made Alive in Christ, what in us is made Alive in Christ....you need to give far more explaining than what you say above as it makes absolutely no sense.

...you say Christ went to the cross , how would you know Christ went to the cross?...just by reading his “ written “ word?

Who else witnesses that truth to our heart/ spirit?

We know God in our spirit/ heart do we not?

Yet you say we aren’t led by the Spirit...that’s not what God’s word says...so you must be in un- belief..
Isn’t that where the Living Spirit Of God resides in our heart/ spirit?

Whose spirit witnessed to your spirit that you are Gods child?

Was it a dead spirit or a Living Spirit?

Whose seed are you Born Of?
Easy questions to answer.

The cross is central to the Christian faith, symbolizing the sacrifice of Jesus Christ and the means by which believers are brought into a relationship with Him. The New Testament emphasizes that it is through the cross that salvation, reconciliation, and the believer's union with Christ are made possible. Here are key scriptural references that elucidate how the cross puts us "in Christ Jesus":

Atonement for Sin:

Romans 5:8-9: "But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. Much more then, having now been justified by His blood, we shall be saved from wrath through Him."

1 Peter 2:24: "Who Himself bore our sins in His own body on the tree, that we, having died to sins, might live for righteousness—by whose stripes you were healed."

Reconciliation with God:

Colossians 1:19-22: "For it pleased the Father that in Him all the fullness should dwell, and by Him to reconcile all things to Himself, by Him, whether things on earth or things in heaven, having made peace through the blood of His cross. And you, who once were alienated and enemies in your mind by wicked works, yet now He has reconciled in the body of His flesh through death, to present you holy, and blameless, and above reproach in His sight."

Ephesians 2:16: "And that He might reconcile them both to God in one body through the cross, thereby putting to death the enmity."
Union with Christ in His Death and Resurrection:

Romans 6:3-6: "Or do you not know that as many of us as were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into His death? Therefore we were buried with Him through baptism into death, that just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life. For if we have been united together in the likeness of His death, certainly we also shall be in the likeness of His resurrection, knowing this, that our old man was crucified with Him, that the body of sin might be done away with, that we should no longer be slaves of sin."

Galatians 2:20: "I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me."

New Creation in Christ:

2 Corinthians 5:17-21: "Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new. Now all things are of God, who has reconciled us to Himself through Jesus Christ, and has given us the ministry of reconciliation, that is, that God was in Christ reconciling the world to Himself, not imputing their trespasses to them, and has committed to us the word of reconciliation. Now then, we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God were pleading through us: we implore you on Christ’s behalf, be reconciled to God. For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him."

Power of the Cross:

1 Corinthians 1:18: "For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God."

Philippians 3:10: "That I may know Him and the power of His resurrection, and the fellowship of His sufferings, being conformed to His death."

Hence @Episkopos --where you err.

The cross is the foundational element that places us "in Christ Jesus." Through the cross, Jesus atoned for our sins, reconciled us to God, and made possible our union with Him in His death and resurrection. This union transforms believers into new creations, empowered by the Holy Spirit, and living in the reality of Christ’s sacrifice and victory. The cross is thus the pivotal point of our faith, through which we receive grace, forgiveness, and eternal life in Christ.

What is dishonest? @Behold showed you our position IN Christ Jesus using the Scriptures and you say he is dishonest and mean spirited?
He is just doing what they do. He is trying to take the focus off himself. Acting like a bully.

It’s a tactic he has used for years. In many different chatrooms

.you say Christ went to the cross , how would you know Christ went to the cross?...just by reading his “ written “ word?
Yes, absolutely.

1. Scriptural Testimony
The primary source for understanding the crucifixion of Jesus Christ is the New Testament. Multiple books and authors within the New Testament provide detailed accounts of Jesus' crucifixion. Here are key references:

Gospels' Accounts:
Matthew 27:32-56
Mark 15:21-41
Luke 23:26-49
John 19:16-37
These passages detail the events leading up to, during, and following the crucifixion, providing a cohesive narrative across multiple sources.

Epistles and Other New Testament Writings:
1 Corinthians 1:18: "For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God."

Galatians 6:14: "But God forbid that I should boast except in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom the world has been crucified to me, and I to the world."

Philippians 2:8: "And being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself and became obedient to the point of death, even the death of the cross."
2. Historical Evidence
The crucifixion of Jesus is also supported by historical evidence outside of the New Testament:

Tacitus:
A Roman historian who, in his Annals (15.44), mentions the execution of Jesus by Pontius Pilate during the reign of Tiberius.
Josephus: A Jewish historian who, in his Antiquities of the Jews (18.3.3), refers to Jesus’ crucifixion under Pilate.
These non-Christian sources provide external confirmation of the New Testament accounts.

3. Early Christian Writings
Early Christian writers and church fathers reference the crucifixion extensively, showing that the belief was foundational from the earliest days of the church:

Ignatius of Antioch: In his letter to the Smyrnaeans, he writes about Jesus' crucifixion and resurrection.
Justin Martyr: In his First Apology, he defends the belief in Jesus' crucifixion and resurrection.

4. Theological Significance and Impact
The crucifixion of Jesus is not merely a historical event but a theological cornerstone that has shaped Christian thought and practice for centuries:

Atonement and Salvation:
Central doctrines in Christianity revolve around the crucifixion as the means by which humanity is reconciled to God (e.g., Romans 3:23-25, 1 Peter 2:24).
Sacraments and Liturgy: Practices such as the Eucharist (Holy Communion) are based on the Last Supper and Jesus' sacrifice on the cross (e.g., 1 Corinthians 11:23-26).

5. Personal and Communal Experience
Believers throughout history have testified to the transformative power of the cross in their personal lives and communities. This experiential evidence, while subjective, is a powerful testament to the enduring significance of the crucifixion.
While the primary source of knowledge about Christ’s crucifixion is the New Testament, this belief is corroborated by historical evidence, early Christian writings, theological impact, and personal experiences of believers. Together, these sources provide a robust foundation for the conviction that Christ went to the cross.

What is the gospel @Ritajanice? Where would you find it in Scripture?

How does God draw us to himself?

There are many ways in which God does this. and many ways in which we can KNOW that he is trustworthy, and in this, decide to call out to him for salvation.

we start with Romans 1.

18 For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who suppress the truth in unrighteousness, 19 because what may be known of God is manifest]in them, for God has shown it to them. 20 For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even His eternal power and Godhead, so that they are without excuse,

so we see a few things

1. The wrath of God (against sin) is clearly known to everyone.
2. Men suppress the truth, it is not that they do not know it. they do know it
3. His invisible attributes have been seen from creation. so they are without excuse.

so the first way God draws us is creation. How anyone today can look at creation and not see God is beyond me, But paul tells us why. they suppress the truth because they love the sin..

The second way in which God draws us to himself is through his people. We are told to work out our own salvation, with fear and trembling, as we are lights in a dark world. We are supposed to be that light by allowing God to work in and through us to draw others to that light, which is Christ. We not only see How god works in them by a change in their life. we see God work in their life. and we see God is a faithful God. And they can also share with us the living word of God that can bring salvation to all who believe

the third way is God himself. Jesus said he must leave, when he does he will send the spirit. he will convict the world of sin righteousness and judgment. So we have the HS who not only convicts us of our situation of being alienated from God because of our sin, He helps us understand the truth of what God did to save us and restore us to right standing with God himself.

of course the last one i can think of is his word. The word he spent thousands of year putting together. In it we see God at work throughout the history of man. We see the warning, the prophets who show us things that then came to pass concerning the Christ. And we can see the way to salvation based on what God did. through the gospel. As paul said to timothy, as a Child he knew from scripture the way to salvation (remember as a child Timothy only had access to the OT)

How does God draw us to himself?
Old Testament (Hebrew)
Jeremiah 31:3

Hebrew Text:
Lexham English Bible: "Yahweh appeared to him from afar saying, 'I have loved you with an everlasting love. Therefore I have drawn you with loving-kindness.'"
Key Hebrew Words:
מְשַׁכְתִּיךְ (mashaktiyk): "I have drawn you." This verb is in the Piel stem, indicating an intensive or intentional action by God.
חָסֶד (chesed): "loving-kindness." This noun reflects God’s covenantal love and mercy.
Hosea 11:4

Hebrew Text:
Lexham English Bible: "I drew them with human cords, with bands of love. I was to them like those who lift a yoke on their jaws, and I bent down to them and let them eat."

Key Hebrew Words:
אֶמְשְׁכֵם (emshakhem): "I drew them." The verb is in the Qal stem, indicating a simple or active form of drawing.

עֲבֹתוֹת אַהֲבָה (avotot ahavah): "bands of love." This phrase signifies the means by which God draws people, emphasizing love and affection.

New Testament (Greek)
John 6:44

Lexham English Bible: "No one can come to me unless the Father who sent me draws him, and I will raise him up on the last day."
Key Greek Words:

ἕλκῃ (helkēi): "draws." This verb in the present subjunctive active form indicates a continuous action performed by the Father, emphasizing the divine initiative in drawing people to Christ.

John 12:32

Lexham English Bible: "And I, when I am lifted up from the earth, will draw all people to myself."
Key Greek Words:
ἑλκύσω (helkysō): "will draw." This verb is in the future active indicative form, indicating the action of drawing as a future certainty performed by Christ Himself.
Ephesians 1:4-5

Lexham English Bible: "Just as he chose us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and blameless before him in love, having predestined us to adoption as sons through Jesus Christ to himself, according to the good pleasure of his will."
Key Greek Words:
ἐξελέξατο (exelexato): "he chose." This verb is in the aorist middle indicative, indicating a definitive action taken by God.
προορίσας (proorisas): "having predestined." This participle in the aorist active form indicates the predetermined action of God to bring believers into a relationship with Him.
So--
God draws us to Himself through His loving-kindness and covenantal love (Jeremiah 31:3; Hosea 11:4), an intentional action that is both active and continuous (John 6:44; John 12:32). This divine drawing is part of His eternal plan, choosing and predestining believers to be holy and adopted as His children (Ephesians 1:4-5). These passages, in their original languages, emphasize God's initiative and love in bringing people into a saving relationship with Him.

You can read the written word as you are doing, but...the written word is not who we are in, were in the Spirit, not the Bible..therefore your teachings is false...we must be Born Of The Spirit..to know that Jesus hung on a cross....because we are Born Again..a spirit child of God....we know Jesus hung on a cross in our spirit..not through reading the Bible.

Your just a theologian..as you have no spirit knowledge....therefore I rebuke your claim that the Bible is Alive in the Spirit.

Stop accusing the brethren when you are confused yourself, regarding how we are Born Again.

And how come you can bear false witness against @Episkopos ...he has never said the cross is not about forgiveness...
