Interesting insight... maybe without knowing you made it.

For God to Willingly put His Son to death as He did, was this an act of darkness, or the act of a Loving Merciful God?

From a tender young age the Lord knew how he would die. The Word of God foretold it would happen and why.

this man, who was handed over by the predetermined plan and foreknowledge of God, you executed by nailing him to a cross at the hands of Gentiles Ac 2:23.

You need to know and understand His Plan before implying darkness.

So God sending an angel to strengthen the Lord to drink of the cup of Suffering which His Father had planned for him is "plan" of Acts 2:23.

We have talked about this a lot in the past so not wanting to go over old ground but your inability to see the Love of God in offering His Son is something you at some point in your life will need to face.

God publicly displayed him (Jesus) at his death as the mercy seat accessible through faith. This was to demonstrate his righteousness, because God in his forbearance had passed over the sins previously committed. Romans 3:25

The question you should ask is this; "Why did God need to display His Righteousness in Christ on the cross?"

This Quiet, will provide you incredible truths and enrich your life even more than you think you have today.

@quietthinker (you went quiet?)

Can you speak to Romans 3:25?

God publicly displayed him (Jesus) at his death as the mercy seat accessible through faith. This was to demonstrate his righteousness, because God in his forbearance had passed over the sins previously committed. Romans 3:25

Do you know what it means?
Why would God want to publicly display Jesus is such a way?
What qualified Jesus as a mercy seat? What was required?

The answers to these questions will lead you to His Plan of redemption in Christ Jesus His Son.

I went quiet because your paradigm does not allow you to see.....even while you conclude you are onto a great truth.
There is no point in trying to reveal (prove) anything because your ears and eyes do not hear and see.

But the questions still remain on Romans 3:25 and you would rather provide this throw away comment than actually explore its depth?

God gifted me the Faith to believe in my spirit ,he drew me to Jesus, he brought me to believe in Jesus, he forgave my sins before I became Born Again, like you it was a supernatural/ Spiritual event that only God can perform via His Spirit, The Spirit testifies with our spirit that we are His children/ Born Again.

A Living Spiritual birth, that can only be understood in one’s heart/ spirit as you well know.

We were Born Of The Spirit...Spirit gives birth to spirit.

One can’t believe in Jesus without His witness the Living Holy Spirit, making our spirit Born Again.....we have been Born Again of imperishable/ incorruptible seed...that seed is the Living Holy Spirit.

The Holy Spirit makes us Born Again and it’s because of Jesus death and resurrection that we can be Born Of The Spirit..

Chosen and predestined to become Born Again!

Praise God for that Honour and Privilege!

My opinion/ testimony/ belief, which can’t be proven.
The journey of being Born Again, as you described, is a powerful spiritual event that can only be understood in one's heart and spirit. Your experience echoes the truth that the Spirit gives birth to spirit, affirming that our rebirth is a divine act, made possible through Jesus' death and resurrection. We are truly blessed to be chosen and predestined for this new life in Christ. Praise God for this incredible honor and privilege!

Fantastic post. Welcome to the forum and thanks for choosing this topic to write your first reply post.

I believe the only real certainty a person can have is an encounter with the living God.

Thank you. I appreciate you as well.
It seems that too many are focused on chapter and verse to see what the Spirit did instead of focusing on what the Spirit is doing now.
God is alive and well. We should be living stones, built into a spiritual house, a holy priesthood...

1 Peter 2:4-5 NIV
As you come to him, the living Stone—
rejected by humans but chosen by God and precious to him—
5 you also, like living stones, are being built into a spiritual house[a] to be a holy priesthood,
offering spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ.

Faith is not required to believe a certainty.

How much energy do we expend attempting to promote salvation as a certainty?

All the reams of apologetics to make the mystery of faith appear to be a certainty.

Were we saved by grace through certainty, or saved by grace through faith?

]
We don't save ourselves, it doesn't seem to me. Jesus saves us.

''now faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see''
I think to have faith it means you do not see it- direct evidence but there is indirect evidence such as what you see and feel surrounding it, like if you suddenly came home and a computer was on your desk but you did not put it there, you will know that someone else put it there since it wasn't you.

Certainty certainly worked for the Pharisees. So we have an historical precedent to follow.

We are "saved" by God, based on the finished work of Jesus on The Cross.

ON The Cross, as Jesus was about to die, He said....>"IT"... "Is finished".

What is that?

What is that "IT"?

1.) "God hath made JESUS to be SIN...for us"

2.) Jesus's shed blood and death is WHY God will save, "all who believe".

Are we saved by certainty, or by faith?

On the subject of certainty...

I was reviewing our component test procedures at work, and I noticed that passing our Reliability test gives us mathematically a 60% confidence that the product will meet its failure rate targets out in the field. That's right; a multi-billion dollar company makes decisions on a multi-million dollar product with only 60% confidence that it's going to be good. But once you've made your decision, you go with it.

"Life is about making critical decisions on insufficient data."

I wish I could remember who told me that.

A product tagline could read:

We have faith in our product's reliability, so should you!"

LOL
