The term "the words of the book of this prophecy" are limited to that scroll. Not a reference to the whole Bible. Two different books. A pile of scrolls.

In our bad English translation, yes. The word and concept are pagan in origin. When was hell invented?Hell is referred to in Revelation...

Hard for me to imagine a worse thing to lay at God's doorstep. (as the saying goes)Hell is referred to in Revelation...

Makes me wonder why the Modern Translations cut away this important word.In our bad English translation, yes. The word and concept are pagan in origin. When was hell invented?
What does the NT Greek say?
Many more references of Sheol, Tartarus, Hades and the amazing thing is that Jesus Himself mentioned Hades and Sheol more than any other writer.Peshitta - Rev 20
7And whenever the 1000 years are finished, Satan will be released from his imprisonment, 8And he will go forth to seduce all the nations in the four corners of The Earth: Gog and Magog, to gather them to war, those whose number is as the sand of The Sea. 9And they went to war upon an open place of The Earth and surrounded the city of the camp of The Holy People and of The Beloved City, and fire descended from Heaven from God and consumed them. 10And their Seducer, The Devil, was cast into The Lake of Fire and Brimstone where The Beast and The False Prophet are, and they shall be tormented day and night for the eternity of eternities.
11And I saw a Great White Throne and him sitting at the top of it, from whose face Earth and Heaven fled away, and no place was found for them. 12And I saw the dead, great and small, who stood before the throne, and scrolls were opened, and another scroll was opened, which is of The Judgment, and the dead were judged from those things that were written in the scrolls, according to their works. 13And the Sea yielded the dead which were in it, and Death and Sheol yielded the dead which were with them, and they were judged, one by one, according to their works. 14And Death and Sheol were cast into The Lake of Fire- this which is the second death. 15And whoever was not found inscribed in The Book of Life was cast into The Lake of Fire.
What do you make of this? The second death
How many caveats are there to salvation?Peshitta - Rev 20

18“I testify to everyone who hears the word of the prophecy of this book: Whoever will place upon these things, God shall place upon him the plagues that are written in this book.” 19“And whoever subtracts from the words of the Scripture of this prophecy, God shall subtract his part from The Tree of Life and from The Holy City, those things which are written in this book.”
What about what the Bible teaches?I was raised evangelical, but find myself questioning much of what we were taught in church.
All humanity has been restored IN JESUS.....especially those who believe. What do you make of this?
Ephesians 2:4-5 NIV
But because of his great love for us, God, who is rich in mercy,
5 made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in transgressions—
it is by grace you have been saved.

Eternal damnation, being alienated from the Spirit of God.What did Jesus die to save us from?

Good question. What about what the Bible teaches?
How many caveats are there to salvation?
What does it mean to subtract from "the words of the Scripture of this prophecy"?
If a person's name already appeared in the Book of Life, would it be removed?
What about the unforgivable sin? And OSAS? Enduring until the end?
What became of salvation purchased by Christ for all? Not enough? Not paid in full? Insufficient payment?

Nothing in the passage is offensive. I'm objecting to bad translation, bad interpretation, and bad conclusions. So what part of this passage do you find offensive ?
And I'm objecting to you accusing all of our Bible translations to be wrong. What are your credentials?Nothing in the passage is offensive. I'm objecting to bad translation, bad interpretation, and bad conclusions.
Especially the use of this chapter to condemn anyone that would disagree with a personal interpretation of the whole Bible.
"You can't add or subtract. Says so in Revelation," Haven't translators already transgressed that foolish claim?
Continue your attempts to corner me though. Some day you might succeed. - LOL

Would you ask the Apostles for credentials? What are your credentials?
No, they totally agree with Jesus. You don't.Would you ask the Apostles for credentials?
