No one can say Jesus is Lord, but by the Holy Spirit.

No one can say it without His Spirits “ His spirits”?..whose his spirits.?

Plus what you say isn’t biblical.

1 Corinthians 12:3 (NKJV) Therefore I make known to you that no one speaking by the Spirit of God calls Jesus accursed, and no one can say that Jesus is Lord except by the Holy Spirit.

What this means, in the context of all NT Scripture, is that no one can call Jesus their Lord whom they now listen to and follow, living by His Spirit, except by the Holy Spirit.

I say this, because many do, and will, say Jesus is Lord, but they do not mean it in the way the New Testament teaches.

For instance, in the following Scriptures, we cannot say that all these people who called Jesus "Lord" had the Holy Spirit:

Philippians 2:9-11 (WEB) 9 Therefore God also highly exalted him, and gave to him the name which is above every name, 10 that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, those on earth, and those under the earth, 11 and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

Matthew 7:21-23 (WEB) 21 “Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter into the Kingdom of Heaven, but he who does the will of my Father who is in heaven.

Matthew 25:11-12 (WEB) 11 Afterward the other virgins also came, saying, ‘Lord, Lord, open to us. 12 But he answered, ‘Most certainly I tell you, I don’t know you.’

Matthew 25:41 (WEB) 41 Then he will say also to those on the left hand, ‘Depart from me, you cursed, into the eternal fire which is prepared for the devil and his angels … 44 Then they will also answer, saying, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry, or thirsty, or a stranger, or naked, or sick, or in prison, and didn’t help you?’

Luke 6:46 (WEB) 46 Why do you call me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ and don’t do the things which I say?

Luke 9:61-62 (WEB) 61 Another also said, “I want to follow you, Lord, but first allow me to say good-bye to those who are at my house.” 62 But Jesus said to him, “No one, having put his hand to the plow and looking back, is fit for God’s Kingdom.”

Luke 13:25 (WEB) 25 When once the master of the house has risen up, and has shut the door, and you begin to stand outside and to knock at the door, saying, ‘Lord, Lord, open to us!’ then he will answer and tell you, ‘I don’t know you or where you come from.’

In addition, before the Spirit was sent to believers to indwell them, many did believe in Jesus and called Jesus, "Lord," especially those who asked Jesus to heal them. Therefore, they called Jesus, "Lord, and they believed in him before ever being indwelt by the Spirit.

The Spirit was sent to indwell believers after the New Covenant was established - after Christ's death and resurrection, and after he was glorified.

John 7:37-39 (WEB) 37 Now on the last and greatest day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried out, “If anyone is thirsty, let him come to me and drink! 38 He who believes in me, as the Scripture has said, from within him will flow rivers of living water.” 39 But he said this about the Spirit, which those believing in him were to receive. For the Holy Spirit was not yet given, because Jesus wasn’t yet glorified.

John 16:7 Unless I go away, the Advocate will not come to you; but if I go, I will send him to you.

John 14:17 KJV: Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he [the Spirit] dwelleth {{{with}}} you, and shall be {{{in}}} you.

As you can see, not even the Disciples were indwelt by the Holy Spirit - not until Lord Jesus was glorified, and which began on the Day of Pentecost; and yet, the Disciples also called Jesus, "Lord."

Brother, it means exactly what is says it means, no need to post reams of scripture.

Without being Born Of The Spirit, no one can say Jesus is Lord...without the witness that indwells our heart/spirit.

We must be Born Again of imperishable seed?

We need the Living Spirit, he testifies with our spirit that we are Gods children.

Being Born Again in our spirit.

Not the person as the other member said...he doesn’t understand being Born Again of imperishable seed and I’m certainly not going there with him again.

We are on different levels of spiritual understanding...pointless in trying to discuss, imo.

The Holy Spirit is a Living Spirit that is who gives birth to our spirit....not the written word.

We are Born Again of imperishable seed.

I think you study the written word.

I listen to the Living Spirit who testifies Gods truth to my spirit.

The Living word of God,( The Living Holy Spirit) backs up Gods written word.

Because they have been Born Again of imperishable seed.

The imperishable seed is the Holy Spirit..he is the witness in our hearts.

He indwells our spirit we communicate with his Living Spirit then check out what he says with the written word.

You have posted what you believe those scriptures to be saying.

I agree to disagree and have posted scripture also, which has been rebuked by said members.

You,Him, me, we believe differently...therefore should respect the other’s belief.

We should not use coercion ....you believe your way, I believe my way...” respect “.

Yes, I agree, this is not talking about an empty confession, but a real confession.

Matthew 7:21-22 KJV
21) Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.
22) Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?

This was an empty confession and not from the Holy Spirit.

Much love!

The imperishable seed:

1 Peter 1:22-25 KJV
22) Seeing ye have purified your souls in obeying the truth through the Spirit unto unfeigned love of the brethren, see that ye love one another with a pure heart fervently:
23) Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever.
24) For all flesh is as grass, and all the glory of man as the flower of grass. The grass withereth, and the flower thereof falleth away:
25) But the word of the Lord endureth for ever. And this is the word which by the gospel is preached unto you.

Much love!

Berean Standard Bible Par ▾
Paul’s Message by the Spirit’s Power
1When I came to you, brothers, I did not come with eloquence or wisdom as I proclaimed to you the testimony about God. 2For I resolved to know nothing while I was with you except Jesus Christ and Him crucified. 3I came to you in weakness and fear, and with much trembling. 4My message and my preaching were not with persuasive words of wisdom, but with a demonstration of the Spirit’s power, 5so that your faith would not rest on men’s wisdom, but on God’s power.
Spiritual Wisdom
(Ephesians 1:15–23)
6Among the mature, however, we speak a message of wisdom—but not the wisdom of this age or of the rulers of this age, who are coming to nothing. 7No, we speak of the mysterious and hidden wisdom of God,a which He destined for our glory before time began. 8None of the rulers of this age understood it. For if they had, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory. 9Rather, as it is written:
“No eye has seen,
no ear has heard,
no heart has imagined,
what God has prepared for those who love Him.”b
10But God has revealed it to us by the Spirit.
The Spirit searches all things, even the deep things of God. 11For who among men knows the thoughts of man except his own spirit within him? So too, no one knows the thoughts of God except the Spirit of God. 12We have not received the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, that we may understand what God has freely given us. 13And this is what we speak, not in words taught us by human wisdom, but in words taught by the Spirit, expressing spiritual truths in spiritual words.c
14The natural man does not accept the things that come from the Spirit of God. For they are foolishness to him, and he cannot understand them, because they are spiritually discerned. 15The spiritual man judges all things, but he himself is not subject to anyone’s judgment. 16“For who has known the mind of the Lord, so as to instruct Him?”d But we have the mind of Christ.

I did not see any Scriptures quoted by you, except for "1 Corinthians 12:3."

The Scriptures I quoted are plain to understand, and need no interpretation. There is no way you could interpret the Scriptures I quoted for you differently than what they state. They say what they say, and they are easy to understand.

The gospel doesn’t make us Born Again, it’s because of the gospel we can become Born Again by the Living Spirit.

Quoting scripture, does not make you Born Again...only the Living seed of God can do that..His “ Living “Holy Spirit.

Where does the imperishable seed that we are Born Again Liveth and abideth forever?

Where does it liveth and abideth forever?

1 Peter 1

King James Version

1 Peter, an apostle of Jesus Christ, to the strangers scattered throughout Pontus, Galatia, Cappadocia, Asia, and Bithynia,
2 Elect according to the foreknowledge of God the Father, through sanctification of the Spirit, unto obedience and sprinkling of the blood of Jesus Christ: Grace unto you, and peace, be multiplied.
3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, which according to his abundant mercy hath begotten us again unto a lively hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead,
4 To an inheritance incorruptible, and undefiled, and that fadeth not away, reserved in heaven for you,
5 Who are kept by the power of God through faith unto salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.
6 Wherein ye greatly rejoice, though now for a season, if need be, ye are in heaviness through manifold temptations:
7 That the trial of your faith, being much more precious than of gold that perisheth, though it be tried with fire, might be found unto praise and honour and glory at the appearing of Jesus Christ:
8 Whom having not seen, ye love; in whom, though now ye see him not, yet believing, ye rejoice with joy unspeakable and full of glory:
9 Receiving the end of your faith, even the salvation of your souls.
10 Of which salvation the prophets have enquired and searched diligently, who prophesied of the grace that should come unto you:
11 Searching what, or what manner of time the Spirit of Christ which was in them did signify, when it testified beforehand the sufferings of Christ, and the glory that should follow.
12 Unto whom it was revealed, that not unto themselves, but unto us they did minister the things, which are now reported unto you by them that have preached the gospel unto you with the Holy Ghost sent down from heaven; which things the angels desire to look into.
13 Wherefore gird up the loins of your mind, be sober, and hope to the end for the grace that is to be brought unto you at the revelation of Jesus Christ;
14 As obedient children, not fashioning yourselves according to the former lusts in your ignorance:
15 But as he which hath called you is holy, so be ye holy in all manner of conversation;
16 Because it is written, Be ye holy; for I am holy.
17 And if ye call on the Father, who without respect of persons judgeth according to every man's work, pass the time of your sojourning here in fear:
18 Forasmuch as ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and gold, from your vain conversation received by tradition from your fathers;
19 But with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot:
20 Who verily was foreordained before the foundation of the world, but was manifest in these last times for you,
21 Who by him do believe in God, that raised him up from the dead, and gave him glory; that your faith and hope might be in God.
22 Seeing ye have purified your souls in obeying the truth through the Spirit unto unfeigned love of the brethren, see that ye love one another with a pure heart fervently:
23 Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever.

I say you introduced the phrase "imperishable seed" because you did not quote a Scripture with that phrase; rather, I quoted it after you introduced it.

Here is all you wrote about "imperishable seed," and notice, you did not quote a Scripture with it at that time.

As I wrote about a month ago, and so I say again:

Through the Word of God we, who believe, are born again by the Spirit onto a living hope - that is the imperishable seed.

By faith in God through the preaching of His Word (Romans 10:15-17), obeying the truth (1 Peter 1:22), we are the Children of Promise whom the Spirit indwells (imperishable seed) as the pledge of an inheritance yet to come (Ephesians 1:13-14).

Ephesians 1:13-14 (WEB) 13 In him you also, having heard the word of the truth, the Good News of your salvation - in whom, having also believed, you were sealed with the promised Holy Spirit, 14 who is a pledge of our inheritance, to the redemption of God’s own possession, to the praise of his glory.

As I wrote about a month ago, and so I say again:

Through the Word of God we, who believe, are born again by the Spirit onto a living hope - that is the imperishable seed.

Born Again of imperishable seed .....is by the Living Spirit....and only by the Living Spirit....we are not Born Again by the written word.

The written word of God, is what backs up His Living word.

We are Born Again of imperishable seed....that seed is the Living Holy Spirit, we aren’t Born Again without that vital Living seed...

Agree to disagree....that is your own belief system.

Mine is completely different.i have my own belief system....the Living Holy Spirit ...different levels of spiritual understanding.

The written word of God, is what backs up His Living word.

Can you show, by Scripture, that the inspired "written word of God" is different from "His living word?"

Define both the "written word of God" and "His living word" so I can understand what you mean by the difference.

Hebrews 4:12 (WEB) 12 For the word [Greek: Logos] of God is living and active, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the dividing of soul and spirit, of both joints and marrow, and is able to discern the thoughts and intentions of the heart.

logos: a word (as embodying an idea), a statement, a speech
Definition: a word (as embodying an idea), a statement, a speech
Usage: a word, speech, divine utterance, analogy.

I already have, we are Born Again of imperishable seed that LIVETH and abideth forever.

Where does the imperishable seed liveth and abideth forever?

The gospel is not the Living seed @setst777

The gospel is the good news about Jesus, it’s because of Jesus that we can become Born Again of His imperishable / incorruptible seed

What do you think the seed is, if it’s not the Living seed of the Holy Spirit?

His seed is imperishable/ incorruptible and Alive in Spirit? @setst777

Look how Jesus told Nicodemus how we are Born Again, like the wind, you can’t see the Spirit , Brother, he is like the wind, his Spirit is everywhere...you must know his Spirit is Alive and indwells our spirit, the Spirit testifies with our spirit that we are Gods children...he speaks to our spirit as he’s indwelling us,Biblical.....what’s Alive in us what’s been Born Again....our spirit has been Born Again.xx
