So you think Christians can live in sin and still be saved in spite of warnings in the bible that says they cannot?

Do you based what you believe on the whole bible, or just the parts that make you feels good?
I find I make a mistake now and then as any Christian does.
For example, I posted in a thread where someone asked advise regarding their lifestyle and it being judged by another Christian while at work together.

It never occurred to me that this thread was bait.

Lesson learned.

Thank you for that opportunity. As a new member here I'm sure the experience will serve in future.

I read one preacher that said eternal security came from calvinism. Is this wherre it comes from?
Eternal Security is built into the Calvinist TULIP system. Those whom God chose unconditionally before the foundation of the world, these His irresistible grace will regenerate them to faith and sanctify them. Their regenerated souls will want to be more and more obedient. The same irresistible grace will also preserve them unto eternal life. There is nothing stronger than God that can pull a chosen one away.

If you're one of the chosen ones, it's a pretty secure deal.

If you're one of the chosen ones...

In other words we cannot go by what God's Word says?

2 Peter 2:20 - For if after they have escaped the pollutions of the world through the knowledge of the Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, they are again entangled therein, and overcome, the latter end is worse with them than the beginning.

I have been and have learned that due to warnings God has placed in His Word, osas is a scam.

This is why some many who say they are Christians live just like people who are not Christians.

I heard one preacher say that is Christianity became illegal most Christians could not be convicted due to a lack of evidence.
I think you misunderstood me. I am NOT a proponent of Once Saved Always Saved. Yu are making it sound like I do when I do not. It makes some Christians think they are okay despite still sinning and, are putting their faith in a doctrine rather than God's word.

Okay, now let's flip sides and go find the verses that support OSAS. I've always loved Romans 8:38-39. John 10:28 is a biggie. How 'bout John 6:39?

Suggesting we should ignore all the warnings that prove osas is not true?

Should we just look at verses that we agree with and play like the others are not of God?

Lots of evidence in the bible that the tulip thing is no biblical and is even false doctrine.

The claim that God does not want everyone to be saved makes him in to some kind of monster!

Especially considering numerous verses prove it's God's will that all be saved and He has provided a way for all to be saved so God is not preventing people from being saved which is what the devil is trying to do.

I just recently found out osas is not biblical after doing a lot of reading up on the subject

Most of us are not claiming the above.

We are saying that if you are saved, there will be a change in your heart and life.... because the Holy Spirit now dwells within you.

With some people, the changes happen more slowly. Others have a dramatic conversion experience where their life is totally changed practically overnight.
Amen! If we truly are saved and the Holy Spirit dwells within us there will be a change in our heart and life. As a result, we will grow in the Lord (some faster than others) and we will produce fruit (some more than others). sml

This one from 2 Peter proves osas is not true

2 Peter 2:20 - For if after they have escaped the pollutions of the world through the knowledge of the Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, they are again entangled therein, and overcome, the latter end is worse with them than the beginning.

You can't explain that away
Those who are truly born of God are partakers of the divine nature. (2 Peter 1:4) They have been transformed from pigs and dogs into sheep. The change is more than just cosmetic, as in 2 Peter 2:20. These cleaned up on the outside dogs and pigs were never sheep.

Compare 2 Peter 1:4 - "partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption - Strongs #5356 that is in the world through lust with 2 Peter 2:20 - with they escaped the pollutions - Strongs #3356 (different Greek word) of the world through the knowledge of the Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, yet they are again entangled therein, and overcome.

*Notice that 2 Peter 2:20 did not mention them being "partakers of the divine nature." Corruption is deeper than pollutions/defilements on the outside: it is decay on the inside.

Having the knowledge of Jesus Christ does not save a person if there is no heart submission to that knowledge. The latter end is worse than the beginning for these men because rejecting this knowledge will make them more accountable at the judgment. Judas Iscariot is a good example of someone who rejected the knowledge of the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ yet was never saved. (John 6:64-71; 13:10-11)

I thought that was all these was to it since the pastor said all I had to do is believe and that salvation in Jesus was by faith alone and my lifestyle cannot change the fact that I'm saved.

The Bible says if you confess with your mouth and believe in your heart that Jesus is Lord and He was raised from the dead, you will be saved (Romans 10:9). Now, I wouldn't necessarily expect a new Christian to change all their ways overnight. Sometimes it happens, but not always. But the desire and frequency of sin should be diminished. And if a Christian willfly sins, it shouldn't feel good afterwards. But certaintly, there are things a Christian shouldn't be doing.

Jesus got drunk on wine with those people I heard about.

I know others have touched on this, but there is no scripture that says anything about Jesus getting drunk. The Bible doesn't admonish alcohol, but it does admonish drunkenness. For what it's worth, I've read they would sometimes drink wine because it was safer than drinking plain water. Also, the wine in biblical days contained less alchol than it does today for a number of reasons.

Not to give my whole life story here but I'm a young person (20s) that got saved at a Baptist church a few years back by going down front at a church service when the pastor invited those to come forward that want to get saved. I repeated the sinners prayer and the pastor said I was saved no matter what anybody says because God said I was saved!

I thought that was all these was to it since the pastor said all I had to do is believe and that salvation in Jesus was by faith alone and my lifestyle cannot change the fact that I'm saved. This all happened about 3 years ago.

So, there's this guy at work that is telling me he doesn't think I'm saved. I found out he was a Christian and we talk sometimes when we are on break. We get 3 breaks during the day for about 20 minutes so we're been talking about religious stuff.

His big problem seems to be my hot girlfriend spending the night at my house sometimes and yes we have sex and we also smoke weed sometimes which shouldn't be a big deal since Jesus got drunk on wine with those people I heard about. It's not like I'm a criminal and I don't treat others bad or anything.

This guy at work is telling me in order to be saved I'm supposed to quit doing what he says is sinful behavior but it's not what the pastor told me when I got saved. Now this guy is sending me all these bible verses by email and some of these are kinda scary and sounds like I might not be saved anymore. I can share some of the stuff he sent if anybody is wanting to comment about the claims he is making

I'm wanting to kinda get to the bottom of all this and see what it's all about. My coworker is telling me there is more to getting saved than praying a sinners prayer and believing God raised Jesus from the dead.

I thought it may be best to hear from other Christians rather than talking to the pastor since he's always busy anyway. His church is really big so you have to make like an appointment to get in to talk to him which takes a while
Colossian 3:1-17

Therefore if you have been raised up with Christ, keep seeking the things above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. 2 Set your mind on the things above, not on the things that are on earth. 3 For you have died and your life is hidden with Christ in God. 4 When Christ, who is our life, is revealed, then you also will be revealed with Him in glory.

5 Therefore, consider the members of your earthly body as dead to fornication, impurity, passion, evil desire, and greed, which amounts to idolatry. 6 For it is because of these things that the wrath of God will come upon the sons of disobedience, 7 and in them you also once walked, when you were living in them. 8 But now you also, put them all aside: anger, wrath, malice, slander, and abusive speech from your mouth. 9 Do not lie to one another, since you laid aside the old self with its evil practices, 10 and have put on the new self who is being renewed to a true knowledge according to the image of the One who created him— 11 a renewal in which there is no distinction between Greek and Jew, circumcised and uncircumcised, barbarian, Scythian, slave and freeman, but Christ is all, and in all.

12 So, as those who have been chosen of God, holy and beloved, put on a heart of compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and [patience; 13 bearing with one another, and forgiving each other, whoever has a complaint against anyone; just as the Lord forgave you, so also should you. 14 Beyond all these things put on love, which is [l]the perfect bond of unity. 15 Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, to which indeed you were called in one body; and be thankful. 16 Let the word of Christ richly dwell within you, with all wisdom teaching and admonishing one another with psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with thankfulness in your hearts to God. 17 Whatever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks through Him to God the Father.

yeah this be very true . so how come i see rainbows and sins being honored
and most folks just act like they actuallly a born again christain .
I SEE NO EVIDENCE of the SPIRIT in a lot of folks mail man dan .
And more and more now buy into the lie that we and muslims and etc serve the same GOD .
TELL ME if one DONT EVEN BELIEVE THE GOSPEL , are they even BORN AGAIN or HIS .
Exactly . yet i am watching a inclusive diverse sin accepting love trying to say THEY ARE HIS .
THEY AINT dan . But man if i even dare to say such a thing its JUDGE NOT , JUDGE NOT .
JUDGE NOT .
so here let me let JOHN say it .
WHO IS A LIAR , HE WHO DENIES JESUS IS THE CHRIST , HE IS ANTI CHRIST .
GUESS what dan and all , THE MUSLISM DENY JESUS AS THE CHRIST , NOT EVEN THE SON OF GOD .
and no other false religoin ACCEPTS HIM AS CHRIST EITHER .
SO GUESS WHO THEY FOLLOW . NOT GOD . men can try like the dickens to shut me up
and close my mouth , BUT IT AINT GONNA HAPPEN till my last breath leaves this body .
