Perhaps that's because John Calvin is simply a man who absolutely no one follows and most haven't even read or heard taught in their churches?
The term Calvinist is a derogatory one so-called by the enemies of the people who hold to a reformed soteriology....
Like any other teacher or preacher of the Gospel, while what preachers say might be educational, they are not the Scriptures, nor are they equal to the scriptures so they aren't preached.
And I've heard many quotes from many historical pastors and people quoted from the pulpit as some kind of educational side bar to the sermon, but never heard a quote yet from John Calvin.
The fact is, the only people who have much to say about John Calvin at all are people who hate reformed soteriology...
And I'm pretty sure the argument over reformed soteriology is not in this particular thread.
But if you start it I'll share the link with my brothers and if they feel like the merry go round they'll respond.. how's that?

^^^ that's the second edition, I have the first edition but I'm sure it's not that much different.
It's a good systematic theology to read if you're interested in reformed theology.
