At the time this lesson was made there are more than ten nations in the European Common Market, Belgium and Ireland at that time are the only 2 nations at that doesn’t participate with the security of the EU. The other 10 have armies in place ready to defend the EU sense 1996.

These are the armies that will make war with the Lamb. Back to Revelation 17.

Revelation 17:14 These shall make war with the Lamb, and the Lamb shall overcome them: for he is Lord of lords, and King of kings: and they that are with him are called, and chosen, and faithful. 18 And the woman which thou sawest is that great city, which reigneth over the kings of the earth.
Remember the city that set on seven mountains, the Lord calls it Babylon the Great.

Below in Daniel shows the Gentile Dynasty being taken down by the Lord along with his saints. Within these few verses you have a span of time over 2,000 years. Let’s take a look at Daniel chapter 7.

Daniel 7:11 I beheld then because of the voice of the great words which the horn spake: I beheld even till the beast was slain, and his body destroyed, and given to the burning flame. 12 As concerning the rest of the beasts, they had their dominion taken away: yet their lives were prolonged for a season and time. 13 I saw in the night visions, and, behold, one like the Son of man came with the clouds of heaven, and came to the Ancient of days, and they brought him near before him. 14 And there was given him dominion, and glory, and a kingdom, that all people, nations, and languages, should serve him: his dominion is an everlasting dominion, which shall not pass away, and his kingdom that which shall not be destroyed. 15 I Daniel was grieved in my spirit in the midst of my body, and the visions of my head troubled me. 16 I came near unto one of them that stood by, and asked him the truth of all this. So he told me, and made me know the interpretation of the things.

If you continue to read the Bible will explain all you need to know. Daniel asked for the truth and he got it. Watch how the scripture interprets itself. Daniel 7:17 These great beasts, which are four, are four kings, which shall arise out of the earth.

Four kingdoms are Babylonians, Medes and the Persians, Greeks and the Romans. Watch the time jump in the next verse.

Daniel 7:18 But the saints of the most High shall take the kingdom, and possess the kingdom for ever, even for ever and ever.

This is after the first resurrection. The saints along with the angels will take the earth by force.

The fourth beast is the Roman Empire; the horn that came up from among them was the Papacy. The three that fail were the 3 Germanic tribes that took out the last Roman Cesar, which was Romulus Augustulus. The 3 tribes were the Ostrogoths, Vandals and the Herulians. Nine has fallen, the tenth hasn’t shown himself as of yet.

Rev.12:9 tells us that "dragon" above is just one of Satan's many titles. That red dragon (Satan) drew a third of the angels ("stars") in rebellion with him, which points to Satan's first original rebellion against God in the old world which God ended. The number of those "crowns" is different than the beast kingdom of Rev.13:1 which is for the end of this world. That's another way we know for sure the above beast kingdom of ten horns, seven heads, but only seven crowns, was the beast system of old that Satan first rebelled with.

7 And there was war in heaven: Michael and his angels fought against the dragon; and the dragon fought and his angels,
8 And prevailed not; neither was their place found any more in heaven.

17 And there came one of the seven angels which had the seven vials, and talked with me, saying unto me, "Come hither; I will shew unto thee the judgment of the great whore that sitteth upon many waters:
2 With whom the kings of the earth have committed fornication, and the inhabitants of the earth have been made drunk with the wine of her fornication."

The "great whore" sits upon "many waters". That is represented in Rev.13:1 with that 1st beast of ten horns, seven heads, and ten crowns that comes up out of the "sea". Rev.9, 13, 17, 18, and Ezekiel 16 must be studied together.

3 So he carried me away in the spirit into the wilderness: and I saw a woman sit upon a scarlet coloured beast, full of names of blasphemy, having seven heads and ten horns.

There's a direct reference back to the 1st beast kingdom of Rev.13:1 which has ten horns, and seven heads.

4 And the woman was arrayed in purple and scarlet colour, and decked with gold and precious stones and pearls, having a golden cup in her hand full of abominations and filthiness of her fornication:
5 And upon her forehead was a name written, MYSTERY, BABYLON THE GREAT, THE MOTHER OF HARLOTS AND ABOMINATIONS OF THE EARTH.
6 And I saw the woman drunken with the blood of the saints, and with the blood of the martyrs of Jesus: and when I saw her, I wondered with great admiration.

That pointer to royal scarlet colors suggest she is a queen, which Rev.18:7 is exactly what she says of herself, that she sits a queen, and is no widow, meaning she is married to a king. The last verse of this 17th chapter says she is a "great city".

It is about JERUSALEM for the end when the coming false Messiah comes and is setup as king in place of Christ. Jerusalem will have fallen into false IDOL worship fulfilling the "abomination of desolation" of the Book of Daniel that Jesus quoted for the end (Matthew 24).

At the time Apostle John was given this Revelation from Lord Jesus, Rome was STILL the Roman PAGAN empire, and there was NO POPE, NO CATHOLIC CHURCH! So these "martyrs of Jesus" was by PAGAN Rome, not Christian Rome. And before the time of Rome, these "martyrs of Jesus" were by the unbelieving Jews in JERUSALEM (See Matthew 23:37; Acts 22:20).

7 And the angel said unto me, "Wherefore didst thou marvel? I will tell thee the mystery of the woman, and of the beast that carrieth her, which hath the seven heads and ten horns.

Again, the 'beast that carrieth her' has the ten horns, seven heads, and ten crowns, so what's that? It's the 1st beast of Rev.13:1, a 'kingdom' beast. The "another beast" of Rev.13:11 is the 2nd beast, and is an individual, a beast king. The word kingdom means the 'realm of a king', so who's the king here? That's what we are supposed to ask ourselves when reading this.

8 The beast that thou sawest was, and is not; and shall ascend out of the bottomless pit, and go into perdition: and they that dwell on the earth shall wonder, whose names were not written in the book of life from the foundation of the world, when they behold the beast that was, and is not, and yet is.

Whoah!... can that one who "shall ascend out of the bottomless pit, and go into perdition" actually be about a flesh-born man??

There ain't nothing written in God's Word about a flesh-born man ascending out of the bottomless pit, even though that is an expression for the pit of hell. Ain't no flesh-born man been sentenced to perish in the future "lake of fire" yet either, because that time of judgment don't come until God's GWT Judgment which is after Christ's future 1,000 years reign, as written in Rev.20.

WHO then... could this be pointing to? Who is this "beast that was, and is not, and yet is"? Think about that for a moment. He 'was', meaning in the past, and now 'is not', but still 'yet is'. And link all that with the first part of this 8th verse about his ascending out of the bottomless pit. Rev.9 reveals about this one which is an angel of the bottomless pit, and he is a king that is over the locusts loosed out of the bottomless pit. It's about Satan as that angel and king. He is this "beast".

9 And here is the mind which hath wisdom. The seven heads are seven mountains, on which the woman sitteth.

The woman, meaning the "great city" of the last verse, sits over the "seven heads", which are seven mountains, or geographic regions of the earth. Rev.13 reveals that one of those 7 heads suffered a deadly wound that is healed in relation to the showing up of the "another beast" of Rev.13:11-13.

Five beast kings were already history in John's day, and one beast king, the 6th one, existed in John's day, and was the Roman emperor Domitian (around 96 A.D.). But the 7th beast was not yet to come, and today still is yet to come, and will be the pseudo-Christ for the end of this world that Lord Jesus warned us about in His Olivet discourse of Matthew 24 and Mark 13 (see Matt.24:23-26, which is actually about a 'singular' false-Christ).

11 And the beast that was, and is not, even he is the eighth, and is of the seven, and goeth into perdition.

Has any... pope already been judged and sentenced to perish in that future "lake of fire" that happens after Christ's future 1,000 years reign?? Of course not. Not even Judas Iscariot has been judged and sentenced to perish yet. Satan and his angels ONLY... have already been judged and sentenced to perish today. No flesh-born man has yet.

So when you hear someone pushing lies that this is about a Catholic pope, or any other flesh-born man, you know they don't have a clue of what they are saying, and are simply pushing a doctrine they learned from men, and questionable men at that.

This beast king that 'was', and 'is not', goes into perdition, meaning the future "lake of fire". That is about Satan himself. We just read about this one back at verse 8 as the one that 'was, and is not'. It's Satan. He will be the 8th beast king too, but when? If you read Rev.20, you'll find out. After Christ's future 1,000 years reign over the unsaved nations, Satan will be loosed one final time to go tempt those nations. That's when he will play that 8th beast king role.

What does verse 11 say he is "of the seven" beast kings though? It's because the role of the very 1st beast king was by Satan himself in that old world, when he first sinned in coveting God's Throne for himself, wanting to be God and worshiped in place of God. ALL... of the beast kings thereafter were MODELS of what Satan originally did when he first sinned. The roles of the 7th and 8th beast kings are reserved for Satan himself at the end.

12 And the ten horns which thou sawest are ten kings, which have received no kingdom as yet; but receive power as kings one hour with the beast.
13 These have one mind, and shall give their power and strength unto the beast.

The beast which those ten kings receive power with is the beast king, Satan himself, which represents the "little horn" of Daniel that comes up among the ten horns. That "one hour" represents the time of "great tribulation" at the very end of this world.

14 These shall make war with the Lamb, and the Lamb shall overcome them: for He is Lord of lords, and King of kings: and they that are with Him are called, and chosen, and faithful.

Because these ten horns (ten horns), and that beast (beast king) with them, will make war with The LAMB (Jesus), and He will overcome them at the end of this world, that reveals what? It reveals the time of these ten horns and beast king will happen in the last generation which will literally 'see' Christ's return. That prevents... any man trying to push this prophecy back in past history, like 70 A.D., etc.

15 And he saith unto me, The waters which thou sawest, where the whore sitteth, are peoples, and multitudes, and nations, and tongues.

Those "waters" the great whore sits over represent nations, and peoples, and multitudes, and tongues. It is what the "sea" where the 1st beast kingdom rises from which this woman, "a great city", will be over at the end.

16 And the ten horns which thou sawest upon the beast, these shall hate the whore, and shall make her desolate and naked, and shall eat her flesh, and burn her with fire.

Why will those ten horns hate the whore ("great city")? and how will they make her 'desolate and naked', like in what sense? That my friends, is about the idea of spiritual harlotry by Jerusalem at the end, the "great city". Jerusalem is that BABYLON HARLOT for the end! And God called Jerusalem a HARLOT when she fell went into IDOL worship against Him, as He showed in Ezekiel 16! That is HOW they will make her "desolate and naked, and shall eat her flesh, and burn her with fire". It's about IDOL worship the coming pseudo-Christ will create at the end with his setting up of the "image of the beast" per the end of Rev.13!

So if you want to actually UNDERSTAND ABOUT THIS BABYLON GREAT WHORE, as JERUSALEM for the end, then you had best get busy and do your homework in Ezekiel 16 where God laid this out for you!

17 For God hath put in their hearts to fulfil His will, and to agree, and give their kingdom unto the beast, until the words of God shall be fulfilled.

Rev.11 where God's "two witnesses" will be killed also reveals that "great city" is about JERUSALEM for the end.

So who are you going to listen to, the doctrines of men that want to steer you into false thinking that the coming Antichrist is about a pope of history and for the end? or will you listen to the Word of God that reveals Satan himself coming to Jerusalem as a fake-Christ and to marry Jerusalem when in reality Jerusalem belongs to Jesus Christ as His bride per Rev.21?

While on the idea of the metaphors of Revelation 17 about the BABYLON HARLOT, which is about Jerusalem for the end in a state of IDOL worship by the coming false-Messiah, the idea of GOD having married Jerusalem is part of this subject.

In Ezekiel 16, God showed how Jerusalem originally was a pagan city that belonged to the Canaanites. It was originally called Jebus (or Jebusi). Then king David was given to conquer it. And God said He cleansed her, named her Jerusalem, gave her rich clothing and jewels, and then covered her with His skirt (symbolic of marriage).

But then Jerusalem went and played the spiritual harlot against God, as He said in Ezekiel 16:15.

In Lamentations 1, it says how she is become a widow, meaning Jerusalem after Nebuchadnezzar, king of Babylon, had come and destroyed her, and took Judah captive to Babylon.

Lam 1:1-3
1 How doth the city sit solitary, that was full of people how is she become as a widow she that was great among the nations, and princess among the provinces, how is she become tributary

2 She weepeth sore in the night, and her tears are on her cheeks: among all her lovers she hath none to comfort her: all her friends have dealt treacherously with her, they are become her enemies.

3 Judah is gone into captivity because of affliction, and because of great servitude: she dwelleth among the heathen, she findeth no rest: all her persecutors overtook her between the straits.

Can that be why the Babylon Harlot of Revelation 18:7 says the following? --

Instead of Jerusalem saying she is in widowhood like Lamentations 1 showed, there at the end when false-Messiah comes, she then says she sits a queen, and is not a widow? Is that about Jerusalem being married when she says that, just prior to her being destroyed with Christ's future coming??

Since Nebuchadnezzar, king of Babylon, destroyed Jerusalem and Solomon's temple, and took the "house of Judah" (Jews) captive to Babylon for 70 years, Jerusalem was definitely in a spiritual state of 'widowhood' then. The king of Babylon also took Zedekiah, king of Judah, and of the house of David, captive in chains to Babylon, where he died. Nebuchadnezzar also killed all of Zedekiah's son heirs. That literally ended... the royal purple and scarlet colors in Jerusalem, as no king of the house of David has sat there even to this day!

But this BABYLON HARLOT sits as a queen she says, and is no widow, and is arrayed with purple and scarlet, representing royalty. All that symbolizes Jerusalem being MARRIED at the end of this world, but NOT to Jesus Christ!

WHO... then would she be married to at the end of this world, just prior... to Lord Jesus Christ's future return for the REAL MARRIAGE with Jerusalem as His Bride per Revelation 21?

Think about it brethren, Jerusalem as CHRIST'S FUTURE BRIDE is Who the NEW... Jerusalem "great city" will be spiritually married to. This Jerusalem of 'today', for the end of this present world, will be married to... Satan as the beast king himself, and thus will not... be the future NEW Jerusalem, as the future NEW Jerusalem will come down from GOD out of Heaven, as written.

Satan DESIRES today's Jerusalem, simply because he still wants to be God, and worshiped as God, and Jerusalem is where God said He has put His name there forever.

Daniel 2 reveals the makeup of the final beast system that will exist on earth at the end when Jesus returns.

It is only an 'assumption by men' that Rome is involved. And those still pushing the failed doctrines of the Reformers try to move pagan Rome over into the Roman Church, which of course is against their own claims from Daniel about the idea of a 'revived Roman empire'.

So what is it, the Roman Church you guys call the revived Roman pagan empire?? And what, Protestant Church systems don't have problems of false doctrines against God's Word also?

The coming apostasy to the false-Christ that comes first won't matter what Church system is called that one belongs to. If the Church one follows doesn't 'keep' God's Word as written, then they will be subject to the coming great apostasy "strong delusion" that God Himself is sending at the end. It will prune both Catholics and Protestants together that fall away.


What then does Daniel 2 reveal about the symbol "iron" which the "legs of iron" represented the old PAGAN Roman empire?..............

Daniel 2 reveals that for the final generation that will see Christ's future return, ALL... of the pieces of the beast statue will be together as one, and destroyed together, all pieces falling together when Christ, that "stone" smites the beast upon its feet of ten toes, and then establishes His Kingdom.

34 Thou sawest till that a stone was cut out without hands, which smote the image upon his feet that were of iron and clay, and brake them to pieces.
35 Then was the iron, the clay, the brass, the silver, and the gold, broken to pieces together, and became like the chaff of the summer threshingfloors; and the wind carried them away, that no place was found for them: and the stone that smote the image became a great mountain, and filled the whole earth.

That is pointing directly to a ONE WORLD GOVERNMENT KINGDOM SYSTEM over ALL nations for the end. And Revelation points directly to SATAN as its ONE-WORLD BEAST KING over it all, reigning from JERUSALEM.

I did read most of your post. I fully agree with what you wrote about the rise and history of the first three beasts. But the fourth beast rules from it rising to its culmination in the person and rule of the antichrist. the fourth beast goes through several "evolutions" over the course of time.

1. Its inception (the roman Empire)
2. Its divided stage (the two legs of Daniel) When the empire split with Rome and Constantinople became the two ruling capitols. we are still in this divided stage. Its development went this way:

Western
A. Rome
B. Germany holy roman empire of the germanic empire (Rulers known by Germanic cesar-Kaiser)
C. France HRE of the Frankish nation
D. Spain HRE of the Spanish nation
E. England /US

Eastern

A. Constantinople
B. Russia Rulers known as Cryllic cesar Czar.

Parts of he fourth beast to come:

one world govt. Daniel 7:23
ten "kings" Dan. 7:24 (ten toes of Dan.2)

I was raised in a Preterist mainstream denominational Church system. I didn't realize it until I got into Bible study with discipline by The Holy Spirit.

Because I keep God's Word as written, now others trapped in the various denominational 'systems' of men at times label me with the various categories of seminary 'confusion' at one time or another. That's what sticking to what God's Word says as written does to those who try to categorize and are in confusion.

I assume you are speaking of men's idea of ecumnemicalism, at first to mean the joining of all Christian denominations, but now it's really about joining all religions under one body, like a U.N. for religion.
