Hi, just ready to sign out.

That Autumn view sounds so great. I always loved seeing Autumn and even Winter scenes back in PA. Such lovely woods back in the NE.

Good morning, Pathfinder.

I saw a coyote on my bike ride Friday. That's the first time I've ever seen one around here, though my wife says she can hear them at night. It took one look at me and scampered back into the woods, which was a relief. I don't think I can outrun one of those on my bike anymore, and I don't know if pepper spray would be enough to discourage it.

It was a beautiful Autumn day for riding, though.

Good morning Pathfinder7. I've been enjoying the autumn views down by the church I walk by. Quite nice.

Hi, can I ask what State you are in? I'm in Los Angeles but raised in Pennsylvania.

We get coyotes even here in the city. I'm in a business district so I don't see them. But some neighborhoods do get them.

Pepper spray would probably work. Also making a lot of noise and waving your arms.

Hi, can I ask what State you are in?
This is North Carolina, Raleigh area. We still have the native woods here. Though with the tollway to the east, construction to the west, and a gun range right across the road from where I saw it (you can hear the gunshots; I hope they have a really tall berm for a backstop), that poor coyote is effectively an endangered species now.

I live a little ways from the mountains and they made hiking and bike trails that pass from the city where I live to the wooded areas. The coyotes have made their way from the hills below the mountains to the city that way.

My great grandfather had a farm, and my brother rented a house next to that farm. At night you could hear the coyotes and they would come down and eat peoples chickens. It was in the area of the hills next to the mountains. Washington state.

Here in Los Angeles, they are finally starting construction on a wide wildlife crossing which goes over eight lanes of one freeway. This was because mountain lions got hit trying to get across the freeway.

When the mountain lions are able to be captured, they are fitted with a radio tracking collar and released. If necessary, they can be found and given veterinarian care. (Some wildlife cameras might show they need care.)

Most funds for the huge crossing are from private individuals.

Hello @Debp. @Lambano, @Pathfinder7 @Wynona . I'm just waking up and getting some coffee. We have an atmospheric river flooding the areas in the northwest.
As soon as the calendar flipped over to November, we got four straight mornings of freezing temperatures. The impatiens, dahlias, and portulaca promptly did their impression of the Wicked Witch of the West melting scene from The Wizard of Oz. The petunias are defiantly standing strong. Those are some tough petunias.

Time to go to Lowe's and get some pansies.

Yeah, we have a lot of leaves falling around here. Cars are covered in leaves. It froze then warmed up and really great fall scenery.

I just saw lightning on my walk. I thought it was just going to be raining but then heard the big boom. I looked at the map and it said it was in Seattle.
