Perhaps you need to learn to recognize his voice.

I do not hear an audible voice either. He speaks to me through scripture. Not all Christians will hear Him the same way.

Jesus says his sheep hear his voice and follow.

There are other ways to hear a voice other than audible. I read the Bible and follow Him. I hear His voice through the words in scripture.

You are probably ignoring him.

Not a chance! I do not hear an audible voice.

I realize this post was not a reply to me. I just wanted to respond to show that not all Christians hear an audible voice. After all, what of a deaf Christian? How would they hear an audible voice?

Define audible.

/
I can’t .....God spoke to our spirit when the Holy Spirit testifies with our spirit that we are children of God.

Now you explain how God spoke to you in an audible voice?....scripture please?

Me, I heard God with the Spiritual ears he gave me as he was indwelling me.and birthing me in the Spirit....you can’t hear God with natural ears....how’s that possible?

We hear God in our spirit...the Holy Spirit is the one who testifies God’s truth to our spirit..yes?

Online source.

This is when God speaks out loud, and we hear it with our natural ears.....

God says it much better than you or I.

Acts

Previous Chapter

Acts.9

[1] And Saul, yet breathing out threatenings and slaughter against the disciples of the Lord, went unto the high priest,
[2] And desired of him letters to Damascus to the synagogues, that if he found any of this way, whether they were men or women, he might bring them bound unto Jerusalem.
[3] And as he journeyed, he came near Damascus: and suddenly there shined round about him a light from heaven:
[4] And he fell to the earth, and heard a voice saying unto him, Saul, Saul, why persecutest thou me?
[5] And he said, Who art thou, Lord? And the Lord said, I am Jesus whom thou persecutest: it is hard for thee to kick against the pricks.
[6] And he trembling and astonished said, Lord, what wilt thou have me to do? And the Lord said unto him, Arise, and go into the city, and it shall be told thee what thou must do

Sounds like secular dogma. Chapter and verse please. Thanks.

Show me where God says I will force my will onto you?..thanks?

I don’t think opinion is biblical...is it?

You were forcing your opinion onto me....God doesn’t force you to hear his voice....he will get his message across to his child his way......he is the one who gets us to open our hearts to hear him.....

I think there is a phobia about admitting that we are hearing voices.
Most will deny it, even though there is a dialog running in our minds all the time.
That is what I am calling an audible voice. No one else can hear it except me.

Do you find that you are talking to yourself at times?
Who is holding up the other half of the discussion?

Does God bring scriptures to mind? That is God speaking. His voice in your mind.
Do temptations come to your mind? That's the enemy speaking.

When humankind ate the forbidden fruit, we opened our mind to all this.

Back to Saul of Tarsus. (the Apostle Paul)

Acts 9:10-16 NIV
In Damascus there was a disciple named Ananias.
The Lord called to him in a vision, “Ananias!”
“Yes, Lord,” he answered.
11 The Lord told him, “Go to the house of Judas on Straight Street
and ask for a man from Tarsus named Saul, for he is praying.
12 In a vision he has seen a man named Ananias come
and place his hands on him to restore his sight.”
13 “Lord,” Ananias answered, “I have heard many reports about this man
and all the harm he has done to your holy people in Jerusalem.
14 And he has come here with authority from the
chief priests to arrest all who call on your name.”
15 But the Lord said to Ananias, “Go! This man is my chosen instrument to
proclaim my name to the Gentiles and their kings and to the people of Israel.
16 I will show him how much he must suffer for my name.”

That saw cuts both ways.
You have the idea that if it hasn't happened to you, it CAN'T happen to anyone else.
While you REFUSE to grow in the Spirit. What are you afraid of?
Can't you trust God like you did 30 years ago?
You had your experiences and then put your spiritual vehicle up on blocks and locked the garage.
"Nope, ain't doin' that no mo'. I'm done!"

/
Here you go again....secular talk, flesh talk.

No wonder you don't understand.

An audible voice as I posted ..is hearing God with natural ears.

That’s what it said....where in scripture does it say we must hear God with natural ears?

It says we must be Born Again...which is the spiritual rebirth.

We hear God in our spirit.....not with flesh / natural ears.

Do you have ears?

Matthew 11:15 NIV
Whoever has ears, let them hear.

/
Show me where it says in scripture..we hear with natural ears?

We hear God in Spirit, Through the Holy Spirit...and one must be Born Again to hear him....his Spirit must birth our spirit into his.

Just like my mother gave birth to me by her flesh.

God gives birth to our spirit.by the power of the Holy Spirit....it’s a supernatural spiritual birth.

Sigh.

I give up.
I have gone above and beyond to try to help you.

What have you given me in this discussion, except grief? (nothing)

If I believed you, God would stop speaking to me.
Is that what you want?

If I believed you, God would stop healing the sick through me.
Is that what you want?

If I believed you, God would stop revealing himself to me in visions.
Is that what you want?

If I believed you, God would stop sending me on divine appointments.
Is that what you want?

Sigh.

Are you guilty of Bibliolatry?

A Born Again is under the New Covenant.

Why did Jesus have to come?

That’s our ticket back to God.....Jesus is the only way back to God?

Not by voices that some hear in their heads...

It’s through Jesus...first and foremost....then the rebirth/ Born Again.

Can you please stop taking your own credit..by saying “ You are trying to help me”

You should know as a Born Again...that only God can help us and he does it through the Holy Spirit......and ONLY the leading of the Holy Spirit...period.

seriously..what Glory is there in you!?

The New Birth Is The New Covenant - Sermon Index. It is impossible to be a true Christian without being born again, which really means to be born from above or fathered from above. John 3:3 "Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God."

We all have an inner dialog. That's neither God or the devil. That's our own mind working things out.

Example, I'm at a new job. I actually am. I have the thought that I cannot do this when something is hard or I make a mistake. That is my negative side of myself that I have. My next thought because I know I can do this job, is yes I can do it. It's not hard, just new.

That is all me. It's my inner dialog.

As I said, not all Christians will hear an audible voice, even as inner dialogue. I am not afraid to say that I am hearing voices. I'm not hearing voices, beyond my inner dialogue which is all me.

Why are some Christians so adamant that you must do Christianity the way they do it? Why don't they realize that God can use anyway He wants to reach us and isn't confined to the one way He reaches them?

I don't think that is what she's saying.

She's saying that God speaks to all of us in a different way.

I have never healed someone. I have never spoken in tongues. I have never prophesied or had visions. That doesn't mean that you have never done those things. Those just aren't my gifts.

So, you keep doing those things. They are your gifts given to you by God.

I agree for the most part. What do you make of this?
Are not all our thoughts obedient to Christ?

2 Corinthians 10:5 NIV
We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God,
and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ.

That doesn't mean that we are hearing an audible voice. It means our thoughts must be in-line with what Jesus wants. Obedience to His commandments, etc.
