I don’t like coffee and he doesn’t like God. One of these things seems more serious than the other.

If you spilled hot coffee in your lap while reading your Bible, would you put the Bible asideI don’t like coffee and he doesn’t like God. One of these things seems more serious than the other.
Nobody seems to be taking this topic seriously.
The currently absent topic originator seemed pretty serious.Nobody seems to be taking this topic seriously.
If you spilled hot coffee in your lap while reading your Bible….
… would you put the Bible aside
while you deal with the coffee, or keep reading? Sometimes coffee is more serious!
Don't tempt me to pray a reality check for you. - LOLAn unthinkable scenario for me.
As if "serious" can't be plain and straight forward?
Do you prefer more bells and whistles?

Seems you changed your mind.I don’t like coffee and he doesn’t like God. One of these things seems more serious than the other.
So the Bible finished last in this scenario. Bummer.I would deal with the coffee in my lap, then the person who spilled it in my lap, then resume reading my Bible.
Seems you changed your mind.

Well, the OP might not be interested in actually discussing the issue, but I thought it was an interesting topic. It comes up frequently when debating with atheists so I think it's important for us, as Christians, to be able to intelligently dispel such criticism. I was hoping to get some takes here.See post #2. The OP wasn’t much interested in it. His agenda, I think, is pretty plain.

When I was a college student I attended a classroom lecture entitled, “Yahweh. As told by Yahweh.” The lecture was about Yahweh’s character; an exposition of Exodus 34:6-7. The professor used the NIV - which I personally don’t care much for, but I’ll quote it here because of the acronyms the professor used. They made quite an impression on me and are stamped on my memory.
“And he passed in front of Moses, proclaiming, ‘The LORD, the LORD, the compassionate and gracious God, slow to anger, abounding in love and faithfulness, maintaining love to thousands, and forgiving wickedness, rebellion and sin. Yet he does not leave the guilty unpunished; he punishes the children and their children for the sin of the parents to the third and fourth generations.’”

Yes, he also didn't react to any of my posts, in which I tried to directly address his points. He's clearly not looking to engage, only to attack. My take is in post #2. I think that’s a logical place to start.
The conversation between he and I dried up quickly. He’s looking for something else.
No worries. I was just messing with you. I know the Bible is important to you.A lap of hot coffee and a human being - probably two - in distress would take precedence in the moment over continuing to read the Bible. The moment would pass quickly. Reading would soon resume.
It;s an acquired taste. Add cream and sugar to taste.I’ve tried drinking coffee three times. Strike 1. Strike 2. Strike 3. Coffee is out.
