Doesn't the dogma of 'Hellfire' teach that God(s) are/is Sadistic?

Never-ending punishment is certainly sadistic. Most Christians have been deceived into following the worldly understanding of Christ, which is that he is an incapable, uncaring, unforgiving, sadistic, monster.

Welcome. I too was Catholic for my first 50 years. Now I know better and I know that Jesus saves ALL!
You're lying to yourself.

Galatians 5

19 Now the deeds of the flesh are evident, which are: immorality, impurity, sensuality,
20 idolatry, sorcery, enmities, strife, jealousy, outbursts of anger, disputes, dissensions, factions,
21 envying, drunkenness, carousing, and things like these, of which I forewarn you, just as I have forewarned you, that those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God.

You just called Jesus 'sadistic'!

Matthew 25
41 Then He will also say to those on the left hand, 'Depart from Me, you cursed, into the everlasting fire prepared for the devil and his angels:
Revelation 20:10
10 The devil, who deceived them, was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone where the beast and the false prophet are. And they will be tormented day and night forever and ever.

Lake of fire isn't fun topic.i don't enjoy talking about it. I'm servant of God and I'm to plant seeds for God.

Ezekiel chapter 33, God warns the wicked to repent and conform to God's standard.
Titus chapter 3 tells us not to debate or strive about God's law.
Those who engage in this have dead works, its unprofitable. Thier just throwing rug over the bible.
You don't argue or debate or strive about God's law. If Heretick won't accept sound doctrine, admonish them and have nothing to do with them. Get the picture. Titus chapter 3.

Those who refuse to repent and conform to God's standard, are going to Sheol. It's holding place for the spirtualty dead or wicked.
Revelation chapter 20, judgement day, those found unworthy will go into lake of fire with satan.
I documented this.
Second epistle John verse 9. Who so ever trangresseth and abides not in the doctrine of christ, hath not God. He that abides in the doctrine of christ, have both the Father and the Son.

Brimstone is a refining agent. Why is a refining agent being used?
Dear Patrick1966,
Why do you believe that brimstone is a refining agent?

I have heard other UR teachers make this same claim but I find nothing in scripture to support it.

In scripture, brimstone is used has a symbol for destruction and not for improving anything.

Luke 17:29 But the same day that Lot went out of Sodom it rained fire and brimstone from heaven, and destroyed them all.

The symbol "fire and brimstone" represents the Lake of Fire. For that reason, Lot and his wife were removed before the destruction came.

Lot and his wife are "one flesh" and they are a "type" for one Elect believer. This concept is the same one used in Mat 24:40-41 where "one is taken and one is left". The one who is "taken" is the man of sin and the one who is "left" is the child of God.

Lot represents the head (the mind) and Lot's wife represents Lot's carnal spiritual nature (Great Harlot). In the story, Lot's wife "looks back" and is destroyed, too. Lot (now a converted child of God) continues up the mountain (symbolizing heaven). This has the same meaning as this verse teaches:

Mat 24:16 Then let them which be in Judaea flee into the mountains:

The Lake of Fire (w/brimstone) destroys absolutely. The "type" which the story of Lot presents shows the fate that awaits all of Christ's Elect during their lifetimes. This is what happened to the Jewish Elect on the Day of Pentecost. However, the events described by the story are fulfilled spiritually within each Elect person. They do not happen outwardly.

Universalists, like JW's and Satan, twist the HELL out of Scripture! lol

Satan LOVES it when his messengers convince people that there is no eternal Hell fire!

I like this example.
What do a refiner’s fire or a launderer’s soap have in common?

Malachi 3:2 NIV
But who can endure the day of his coming? Who can stand when he appears?
For he will be like a refiner’s fire or a launderer’s soap.

Dear St.SteVen,
As I have mentioned before in other posts, there are TWO parts to an Elect believer's judgment. Both parts are required to completely "refine" or "purify" a person.

The first part quickly destroys the spirit of anti-Christ and the Great Harlot (worsened carnal nature) which are within the believer. This judgment is represented by the symbol "Lake of Fire" and by the fire & brimstone which rained down on Sodom and Gomorrah. With their destruction, the believer is no longer under Satan's influence or the influence of their old carnal nature (also called the Old Earth). This judgment is sudden and complete.

The second portion of judgment is called the chastisement of Christ. This judgment is a slow process over time which is directed at the remaining carnal thoughts and beliefs of the carnal mind. With this judgment, the carnal mind is "transformed" into the mind of Christ and the believer is taught righteousness. Because this process of judgment is a slow process, the believer will still sin after they are converted. But as they mature, they will sin less and less.

The verses below describe the first part of judgment which is quick, sudden and complete:

1Thes 5:3 For when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape.

2Thes 2:8 And then shall that Wicked be revealed, whom the Lord shall consume with the spirit of his mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness of his coming:

Rev 18:10 Standing afar off for the fear of her torment, saying, Alas, alas, that great city Babylon, that mighty city! for in one hour is thy judgment come.

The verses below describe the second part of judgment which is slow and refining.

Mal 3:3 And he shall sit as a refiner and purifier of silver: and he shall purify the sons of Levi, and purge them as gold and silver, that they may offer unto the LORD an offering in righteousness.

John 3:30 He must increase, but I must decrease.

Isa 26:9 With my soul have I desired thee in the night; yea, with my spirit within me will I seek thee early: for when thy judgments are in the
(New) earth, the inhabitants of the world will learn righteousness.

Heb 12:8 But if ye be without chastisement, whereof all are partakers, then are ye bastards, and not sons.

Brimstone is a refining agent. Why is a refining agent being used?
brimstone today is known as sulfur. It is a toxic and flammable chemical. Its most commonly used form is sulfuric acid which is a highly corrosive substance. Refining chemical agents do so by destruction. Burning off unwanted things. but if lefty unchecked it would destroy the whole material.

Dear St.SteVen,
I forgot to present one of the best scriptures which shows both parts of judgment for the Elect:

Rev 19:20 (FIRST PART) And the beast (Man of Sin with worsened carnal nature) was taken, and with him the false prophet (spirit of anti-Christ) that wrought miracles before him, with which he deceived them that had received the mark of the beast, and them that worshipped his image. These both were cast alive into a lake of fire burning with brimstone. 21 (SECOND PART) And the remnant (thoughts and beliefs) were slain with the sword (truth of God's Word) of him that sat upon the horse, which sword proceeded out of his mouth: and all the fowls were filled with their flesh.

This scripture is a part of the marriage analogy and should not be combined with the analogy which uses Lot and his wife. I learned a while back to not combine the analogies, because doing so, it can cause confusion.

Also, the judgment of the Lake of Fire for the "lost" of the final age is different. In the final age, the person themselves will be cast into the Lake of Fire for destruction. There the person will experience wrath. Their destruction in the Lake of Fire is a slow process because they will "pay the last penny" for the deeds they did in the flesh. But before the person is destroyed, Christ will have mercy upon them and give them a new birth (Mat 23:23). The child of God will then be removed to heaven.

Also, Joel chapter 2 is one of the best places in scripture which teaches the judgment of the "lost" in the final age.

Brimstone in greek, is consider fire from heaven.

if Brimestone is fire from heaven, and the lake of fire is also associated with it,

The fire that comes from the Lake of fire, must be from the Consuming Fire - that God is.

You can check Vines Complete exposition dictionary of old and new testament words.

Revelation 14:10 they, too, will drink the wine of God’s fury, which has been poured full strength into the cup of his wrath. They will be tormented with burning sulfur in the presence of the holy angels and of the Lamb.

Tormented is akin to retributive judgments, also akin to touchstone, testing metals

Yes, it's obvious to those who don't buy into the "Hellfire" dogma.
However, those who promote it, claim it is "love and justice" in balance.

But an eternal penalty for a finite crime is FAR from just.
To which they respond, "Who are you to judge God?"
Well, we have a God-given human conscience. So...

Those with a working conscience know that it is not love to incinerate someone.
Especially as a consequence of not receiving a supposed "free gift". What's free about that?
More like extortion. Receive the free gift of eternal life. Or...
if you'd prefer, you will be incinerated. Choose carefully.
This is dangerous ground!
Second guessing God.
Questioning his fairness.
Standing in opposition to the scriptures.
Anti-Christian for sure.
What do think Christ and the Apostles would say to this?
Some say that was the disagreement between God and Satan. Satan did not think that God was fair.
So as the cliché, better to reign in Hell than serve in Heaven.

Never-ending punishment is certainly sadistic. Most Christians have been deceived into following the worldly understanding of Christ, which is that he is an incapable, uncaring, unforgiving, sadistic, monster.
1st Corinthians 6:9-10 “Or do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived; neither the sexually immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor homosexuals, nor thieves, nor the greedy, nor those habitually drunk, nor verbal abusers, nor swindlers, will inherit the kingdom of God”

Now it does not mention calling God a sadistic monster....but I wonder if there is a level of Hell for that sort of thing?

2nd Timothy 4:3-4 For the time is coming when people will not endure sound teaching, but having itching ears they will accumulate for themselves teachers to suit their own passions, and will turn away from listening to the truth and wander off into myths.

Galatians 1:6-10 I am astonished that you are so quickly deserting him who called you in the grace of Christ and are turning to a different gospel— not that there is another one, but there are some who trouble you and want to distort the gospel of Christ. But even if we or an angel from heaven should preach to you a gospel contrary to the one we preached to you, let him be accursed. As we have said before, so now I say again: If anyone is preaching to you a gospel contrary to the one you received, let him be accursed. For am I now seeking the approval of man, or of God? Or am I trying to please man? If I were still trying to please man, I would not be a servant of Christ.

Matthew 7:15 “Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep's clothing but inwardly are ravenous wolves."
