Daniel 2
44 And in the days of these kings shall the God of heaven set up a kingdom, which shall never be destroyed: and the kingdom shall not be left to other people, but it shall break in pieces and consume all these kingdoms, and it shall stand for ever.
Do you think Daniel 2:44 is future or has it already happened?

Hi there.
I believe the 70th week was at hand.

7and 62 weeks until Messiah ....

Dan 9
25 So you are to know and understand that from the issuance of the command to restore and rebuild Jerusalem until [the coming of] the Messiah (the Anointed One), the Prince, there will be seven weeks [of years] and sixty-two weeks [of years]; it will be built again, with [a city] plaza and moat, even in times of trouble.

...and then the final week where Jesus would go to the cross, giving us the Gospel that would save people of all nations.

24 “Seventy weeks [of years, or 490 years] have been decreed for your people and for your holy city (Jerusalem), to finish the transgression, to make an end of sins, to make atonement (reconciliation) for wickedness, to bring in everlasting righteousness (right-standing with God), to seal up vision and prophecy and prophet, and to anoint the Most Holy Place.
Jeff if Mark is pointing to the 70th week being at hand, which I think I agree with, wouldn't that make the completion of the 70th week 7 years after Jesus' statement in Mark?

I don't follow the 70 week of years interpretation so I may be reckoning that wrong.

Yes, I believe that is prophetic time, Jesus pronouncing this immediately after God anointing as Messiah the Prince, at His baptism.
Good point, that would mean "anoint the most Holy" in Dan 9:24 was fulfilled at that time. I think the futurist view is that this hasn't happened yet.

Dan 9:24 Seventy weeks are determined upon thy people and upon thy holy city, to finish the transgression, and to make an end of sins, and to make reconciliation for iniquity, and to bring in everlasting righteousness, and to seal up the vision and prophecy, and to anoint the most Holy.

@IndianaRob

Some other scriptures to consider.

Galatians 4:4 But when the set time had fully come, God sent his Son, born of a woman, born under the law,

Ephesians 1:10 to be put into effect when the times reach their fulfillment—to bring unity to all things in heaven and on earth under Christ.

1 Timothy 2:6 who gave himself as a ransom for all people. This has now been witnessed to at the proper time.

Titus 1:3 and which now at his appointed season he has brought to light through the preaching entrusted to me by the command of God our Savior,

Hebrews 9:26 Otherwise Christ would have had to suffer many times since the creation of the world. But he has appeared once for all at the culmination of the ages to do away with sin by the sacrifice of himself.
Good stuff MatthewG thanks!

I wonder if that anointing is in reference to the anointing of the heavenly sanctuary prior to Christ's ministration there as High Priest, which would have begun with His inauguration ceremony at Pentecost.... Still within the time limit of the 70 weeks.

I've never looked at that way, it's a possibility for sure.

Daniel 9:25 Know therefore and understand, that from the going forth of the commandment to restore and to build Jerusalem unto the Messiah the Prince shall be seven weeks, and threescore and two weeks: the street shall be built again, and the wall, even in troublous times.

This is off topic but I just noticed something about verse 25. Two commandments are given that verse, one is to restore and the other is to build Jerusalem. Next we are given two time periods - 7 weeks and 62 weeks.

So could it be that the 7 weeks is for the restoration and the 62 weeks is to build Jerusalem? Am I reading too much into this?

Does anyone know how long John the Baptist's ministry was?
This is all the information known in my best estimation, the you can figure out a time before he had his head cut off.

“In the sixth month of Elizabeth’s pregnancy, God sent the angel Gabriel to Nazareth, a village in Galilee, to a virgin named Mary. She was engaged to be married to a man named Joseph, a descendant of King David. Gabriel appeared to her and said, “Greetings, favored woman! The Lord is with you!” Confused and disturbed, Mary tried to think what the angel could mean. “Don’t be afraid, Mary,” the angel told her, “for you have found favor with God! You will conceive and give birth to a son, and you will name him Jesus. He will be very great and will be called the Son of the Most High. The Lord God will give him the throne of his ancestor David. And he will reign over Israel forever; his Kingdom will never end!” Mary asked the angel, “But how can this happen? I am a virgin.” The angel replied, “The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Most High will overshadow you. So the baby to be born will be holy, and he will be called the Son of God. What’s more, your relative Elizabeth has become pregnant in her old age! People used to say she was barren, but she has conceived a son and is now in her sixth month. For the word of God will never fail.” Mary responded, “I am the Lord’s servant. May everything you have said about me come true.” And then the angel left her. A few days later Mary hurried to the hill country of Judea, to the town where Zechariah lived. She entered the house and greeted Elizabeth. At the sound of Mary’s greeting, Elizabeth’s child leaped within her, and Elizabeth was filled with the Holy Spirit. Elizabeth gave a glad cry and exclaimed to Mary, “God has blessed you above all women, and your child is blessed. Why am I so honored, that the mother of my Lord should visit me? When I heard your greeting, the baby in my womb jumped for joy. You are blessed because you believed that the Lord would do what he said.” Mary responded, “Oh, how my soul praises the Lord. How my spirit rejoices in God my Savior! For he took notice of his lowly servant girl, and from now on all generations will call me blessed. For the Mighty One is holy, and he has done great things for me. He shows mercy from generation to generation to all who fear him. His mighty arm has done tremendous things! He has scattered the proud and haughty ones. He has brought down princes from their thrones and exalted the humble. He has filled the hungry with good things and sent the rich away with empty hands. He has helped his servant Israel and remembered to be merciful. For he made this promise to our ancestors, to Abraham and his children forever.” Mary stayed with Elizabeth about three months and then went back to her own home. When it was time for Elizabeth’s baby to be born, she gave birth to a son. And when her neighbors and relatives heard that the Lord had been very merciful to her, everyone rejoiced with her. When the baby was eight days old, they all came for the circumcision ceremony. They wanted to name him Zechariah, after his father. But Elizabeth said, “No! His name is John!” “What?” they exclaimed. “There is no one in all your family by that name.” So they used gestures to ask the baby’s father what he wanted to name him. He motioned for a writing tablet, and to everyone’s surprise he wrote, “His name is John.” Instantly Zechariah could speak again, and he began praising God.”

Perhaps its the building of heavenly jerusalem.

Hebrew 12:22 But you have come to Mount Zion, to the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem. You have come to thousands upon thousands of angels in joyful assembly,

Unless it dealt with Nehemiah, when the second temple was built, by herod?

When do you think they start? Do you not agree that they begin with a decree of a Persian king to allow the Jews to return from exile.?
The math works fine if we use the 457bc decree.

7 and 62 weeks until Messiah is anointed = 26AD using the weeks of years interpretation and Jesus then makes atonement for sin once and for all in the midst of the final week.
It is finished were his last words.

Someone brought this up in another forum. The poster was saying the “time fulfilled” in Mark 1:15 was Daniel’s 69 weeks.

I don’t think I agree with that but I thought it would make for good discussion here.

What are your thoughts on what time this is referring to?

Mar 1:15 And saying, The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand: repent ye, and believe the gospel.
daniels 69th week was not fulfilled Until Matt 21:
4 All this was done that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the prophet, saying:

5 “Tell the daughter of Zion,
‘Behold, your King is coming to you,
Lowly, and sitting on a donkey,
A colt, the foal of a donkey.’ ”

6 So the disciples went and did as Jesus commanded them. 7 They brought the donkey and the colt, laid their clothes on them, [c]and set Him on them. 8 And a very great multitude spread their clothes on the road; others cut down branches from the trees and spread them on the road. 9 Then the multitudes who went before and those who followed cried out, saying:

“Hosanna to the Son of David!
‘Blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord!’
Hosanna in the highest!”

I've been looking too.... not too much information about it for sure. I read an article online that claimed anywhere from 3 months to 3 years. It was a complicated read and I kind of got lost lol. Thanks for your input.

I don't think the temple has anything to do with Daniel 9 but there are two things that we do know. Eliah (John the Baptist) came and restored all things and Jesus built heavenly Jerusalem as shown in Hebrew 12:22 that you posted.

I don't know when the 70 weeks started. I lean toward the 70 weeks being literal weeks mainly because of Daniel 9:27. Jesus literally fulfilled that verse exactly. Jesus rode into Jerusalem on palm Sunday, was crucified and rose again exactly one week later, confirming the covenant God made with Abraham.

when did Jesus confirm that covenant.. and did he confirm it for only 1 week?
