KJV is quite unique. Many swear by it, but not me. I cut my teeth on it, but it was difficult dealing with thee, thou, doest, sayest, pisseth, lol. But the main Biblical doctrines are quite clear, Jesus is God, Hell is eternal and Jesus is THE Savior.

I hate to be in your shoes Jack. Jesus teaches everyone in every translation on earth that the one who sent him= Father is THE ONLY TRUE GOD--Not wise to tell Jesus he is the one in error like your confused religions do and you do by not believing him over the errors. It doesnt get any sadder than having to watch that out of those who think they are Jesus' followers.

Last I counted I have about forty Bibles, and most of them are KJV....circa 1800's. If I find one I buy it. The heavily illustrated table top versions are beautiful. And if I was going to read scriptures for a public ceremony I would read from a KJV, just because of its poetic style.
But it is by no means a study Bible.
The funny thing it is the errors in the older KJV Bibles that make them very valuable. Type-set printing was prone to errors. One of them was called the Adulterer's Bible because it left the not out of Thou shalt not commit adultery. The Vinegar Bible that mis-spelled Vineyard. The Murmuring Bible that mis-spelled murdering and there are a few others. And back then it was a criminal offense to publish such things.

Only because other languages like Hebrew are more descriptive and meaningful than English, not because it's inadequate.
And to your first point, the Bible is the most accurate history book, while much of secular sources of history have been greatly altered, so ironically, you are the one ignoring history.

We have reliable translations of scripture in our day and language is the point.
Btw King James is good as well.
I like the KJV. It's just more difficult for new Christians.

You didn't get what I was saying. I was saying that even if I didn't believe in the inerrancy of scripture, I would follow the Bible's teachings as if I did, not that I would lie and say I believed it was inerrant when I didn't. I am also saying that you're teaching it is not inerrant and making a case of it only harms the church. It doesn't help it. The chaos we have is caused by people refusing to adhere to the same Biblical standards.

I began with the KJV and never left it, although I had a parallel Bible at one time because the Pastor of the church, I attended compared translations. It may be a bit difficult at first, but reading the KJV Bible helped my reading skills.
