Does God love you?

I always thought it was a good question, does God love those He burns in Hell "forever and ever?".

God does not love us because we deserve it.
He loves us because :
"God is LOVE"
Yes I believe God loves me. I have received confirmation from the Holy Spirit to that effect I believe.
Whenever I've felt the Holy Ghost with any degree of certainty I have always felt vast peace and love along with him.I was going to say that, but @Behold beat me to it! :)
Okay, so we can say that "God only knows why He loves us". But I'm glad He does!
Well MatthewG, what you have to ask yourself is if God is a good father or not. And the answer is that he is the best Father. So yes I would think he loves us as his children.
I've seen God and felt his powerful Holy Ghost. So it's no longer a matter of faith and hope for me. I know he exists.

Or maybe I do know, remembering (Lord, was it 20 years ago?) when He came and healed some long-standing hurts and fears and doubts.

Matthew, what's this all about?
God DOES love you - but any Father worth the name who loves His child doesn't want him doing self-destructive stuff.
And as your brother in Christ (who might actually care), I don't want you doing self-destructive s*** either.

Then a corollary question would be, if you knew you were loved by God, when you trespass against Him, does that make the sense of guilt and the shame worse?
