People LOVE false prophecy and puffing up of the religious outer man. The hypocrisy is so thick you can cut it with a knife here...and the word of God does that very well.

It's funny how all the cessationists call all true prophecy false and anything that puffs up the flesh...they see as genuine...ignoring the fact that they don't believe in spiritual gifts...unless its a false one.

I hear what you are saying, but in my mind justice and mercy are polar opposites: Grace and satisfaction are polar opposites. Either we are justified in light of our faith, or we are justified in light of the fact that my sins have been punished. It can't be both.

Something maybe to keep in mind, "he is faithful and just to forgive our sins", how is it that God is just to forgive our sins? If they are in fact paid for, and if that forgiveness is stipulated by Him to be available.

God in Christ reconciled the world to Himself, now we urge you, be reconciled to God. We are already reconciled on God's side of things because of the Lamb of God, Who carried away the sin of the world. But we must receive that reconciliation.

The word "justified" is not commonly in useage in the English language today in the biblical sense, so it is like reading a word in a foreign language to me and I am trying to equate it to words that I do know, such as "exonerate" or "granted clemency" .....and I would like to confirm whether that is accurate or not.

My understanding of justify as the Bible uses the word is to "render righteous", whether that be judicially or materially. We are justified in our rebirth in that we are separated from our guilty old man by being born anew from God. We are no longer the guilty Adamic man, and we are no longer the corrupted Adamic man. We are new in Christ.

I don't have to be a religious show off--always searching for aleithia/truth, with no pride at all, hopefully assisting others and be edified.

I dont think Jim meant to imply that you were, but some are....such as the church you mentioned where they tried to make a fixed formula out of spiritual gifts and were almost trying to force you to speak in tongues. I experienced similar at one time, without receiving anything, but then later on elsewhere I really did receive tongues. But the gifts depend on the will and purpose of the Lord, it doesn't signify that anybody is more or less loved or approved in His eyes. And if we desire any particular gift we may certainly ask and seek Him for it. Paul even encourages us to earnestly desire the gift of prophecy.

There may be impediments in the way...some people are a little afraid of spiritual gifts because of a fear of being deceived, since there does exist a lot of abusing of the gifts and counterfeits, etc. Also it helps to be in the right environment/atmosphere where believers who are rightly hearted and rightly motivated are praying for someone to receive. And a good environment is hard to find these days, that is just a fact of life due to the times we are living in, and does not in any way diminish those who are unable to find a good congregation to pray for the receiving of the Holy Spirit and gifts. People even may have gifts already that they just aren't aware of yet, having not the opportunity or encouragement to exercise them, or the Lord is just using them in some gift, but without the person knowing it. The term "gift" might be a little too cut and dried in some instances, where the Lord just uses different people in different ways at different times, as He wills, and it's hard to pinpoint what specific "gift" is manifesting. We aren't necessarily always aware when He is using us and neither do we have to be.

Your superficial religious understanding aside...you need to stop pointing fingers...stop accusing... ...stop posturing...stop grandstanding...and go be WITH Christ. I think we can let this one go-I was deeply hurt, emotionally and spiritually by the Protestant Charismatic Movement-speaking in glossalia a must, confession, casting out "demons" etc.
Today, too many claim they "hear voices" and that is a red flag to me-I don't discount the possibility of something supernaturally, but here are too many spiritual giants with "experiences" that makes me wonder where in the world I fit in the body of Christ, IF I fit in at all.

Course you fit in. Though it's certainly understandable how you feel. Just that His Body is not always even found in churches, especially these days.....it seems as though the glory has departed a lot of places. Remember how the prophets and old testament saints were often wanderers...? And Jesus had no place to lay His head......He couldn't find a synagogue to call home. Here we have no continuing city, and His followers may go wherever the Holy Spirit blows us like the wind.

Well, as you have seen "experiences" doesnt make anyone a spiritual giant. Look at those who were doing miracles and casting out demons and saying "Lord, Lord...." but weren't accepted by Him. Sounds like that's the situation you saw. And experiences often test us just like the word of God tests us.

Be encouraged brother and dont' be put off or discouraged by the counterfeits and wrong headedness of others...that can get in the way. Just look to the Lord and His word.....how even in the old testament the Lord spoke to those saints and performed things that were not otherwise possible...... and He doesn't change. He doesn't always speak in His still small voice, but sometimes He may, or speak in other ways, just spirit to spirit, heart to heart, or in vision, or any way He chooses.

As in everyone brother, if we're self aware and honest enough. It resides in the flesh and all flesh is the same.

I see pride as going way back and way down in the roots of our fall....we all follow the same pattern as Adam and Eve. They sinned, which caused them to know they were naked.....then feared and hid from God out of shame because of it, and covered themselves with aprons of fig leaves (pride to cover their shame). Fig leaves of our own righteousness.

Many here have learned to have theoretical beliefs. They have been taught...indoctrinated, into believing certain things..and what made that attractive to them was the perceived benefit to themselves...a selfish motivation.

These will deny this...to their own detriment.

But ALL selfish motivation will be exposed and expunged from the house of God. Judgment is coming. God is selfless...and those who will remain with Him have learned also to be as He is...selfless.

Now when religious theorists hear the truth...an actual living testimony of truth...the carnal and selfish nature of their beliefs are immediately exposed. They can't help it but to attack, denigrate and vilify the one who brings truth. From Jesus all the way to the lowest saint...all will be rejected. Why? Because reality clashes with their ideology based on theory.

It must be so.

When the truth is spoken through testimony...there is a fear that grips the ears of the indoctrinated. There is a perceived threat. Such was the reaction of Cain to the acceptance of Abel in REAL TIME.

The outer man always persecutes, controls, reduces, the weakness of the inner man. Beliefs and theories come from the outer man. But only the inner man can have faith to stand against the outer man and the wiles of the devil that control the outer man.

It takes some discernment to see how this works...discernment, not fear, not reactionary impulses based on a perceived threat. Imagine if people loved the truth instead of hating it. Imagine where God was pleased to bestow His presence on those gathered in His name.

As long as people remain self-interested and selfish...God will resist them. And in so doing they will NOT experience the Lord in a real way. So they will take that to mean that there is no reality, truth, spiritual gifts, presence, translation into Zion...they will remain in unbelief.

Always the outer man wants the last word. Drown out the truth with ranting all you want. Speak lies to cover the truth.

You point to Jesus the same way that the Pharisees pointed to Moses. All for self-justification.

What did Jesus say....that Moses would condemn those who pointed to him, who used him to justify themselves. You do exactly the same with Jesus.

And the rejection of Christ is coming quickly. Don't just read about Jesus...go to Him. Repent.

A shallow understanding will see the word "believe not" to mean not accepting a religious belief that a person thinks will save them.

but that is only a carnal religious understanding.

What the verse is saying is that we come into the life and light of God by faith. By faith we enter into His presence...His light...and are empowered to walk as Jesus walked. By faith we are translated into the higher walk of the kingdom...full of love, joy, peace....but also dead to ourselves so that God might walk IN us and us in Him.

The crows here know nothing of the higher walk. They are mockers...all. Christ for these is a story-book character they are told they have to believe in for self-preservation. And worse yet, these carnal people like wild beasts can't help but be inspired by the spirit of Cain and Korah. Their unbelief is turned into evil in the face of the testimony of Christ according to the truth.

But he who wants to save his life will lose it. God is selfless...and He resists the proud and selfish.

This is a wisdom beyond the outer reaches of the outer man.
