But it is the power of salvation. It is the power of being adopted as Gods children, it is eternal

If your not saved not adopted. not justified, not redeemed, Not washed and made as white as snow.

You can never walk as Jesus walked. You can pretend. You can decieve yourself that you have, But its not real.

This is how you work. You cut what you want out of the word of God. and you cut peoples words. to make it appear you have got them, when all you do is expose your true nature.

Confused over the debate between “higher calling” and “called me heavenward” …are they not the same? “Heavenward” and “higher calling”? I don’t get saying it doesn’t say “higher calling” (bad translation?) instead it says “heavenward …again are they not the same?

The power of God (grace) is not found by reading it in a book. You have to GO TO God for it. But that takes faith, beliefs are useless in moving God from His throne.

I don’t know. I use to think the same thing but now I’m not so sure. Not after what he shared with my husband about Goliath and David.

I still think 2 Corinthians 13 has a lot to do with: ‘called higher’ or ‘called heavenward’. Which to me makes the call now and not some futuristic pipe dream event. (Imo)

2 Corinthians 13 instructs:

Examine whether you are in the faith
“You want proof Christ speaks in me” …hear His call?
Then does the call higher, the call heavenward …sound out in “do no evil” even though we be as reprobate. “Choose to do no wrong but instead do good” and “I pray you will know we are not as those who fail”… the call higher, the call heavenward: “this we pray, even your perfection” “be you made perfect” ?? If that isn’t proof of Christ speaking: a call higher, a call heavenward …then I don’t know what is.

But then there are also warnings: see that you do not refuse the call.

If our perfection is the only proof that we have achieved the Hier calling and are saved.

A nice rant. Now do one against the religious fundamentalist exclusivist hypocrites who stop others from entering the kingdom they themselves are also not entering into. Show some balance. That is..unless....

Due to the fact that society and false progressive theology has made a list so large about fundamental exclusivists you
might want to define what it means .
I mean true fundamental chrisanity IS TRUE .
but much of society and churches in large has put such groups as the KKK
and etc into it , it makes it seem like the danger is in believing the absolute truth of scripture .
For example .
THE KKK is listed as a fundemantal group . But what a crock that one is .
The KKK might say the bible is truth of GOD , but THEY DONT FOLLOW IT .
Quite a few FALSE leaders can lip the bible as truth . which in itself IS TRUE .
BUT They SURE SEEM to omit things which they dont like and twist junk to support their own ideals .
Example . PROSPERITY GOSPEL . SOCIAL GOSPEL , EMERGENT , and the list sure does go on .
Fundamental simply means fundamental . Everyone fundamentally believes SOME KIND OF TRUTH .
BUT these haters of the bible twist it , to make it seem as though those who preach JESUS CHRIST as the only hope
the only way to GOD , ARE the sick fundamentals .
YET , rather odd , THE INCLUSIVISTS THEMSELVES are fundamentalist too .
I MEAN they aboslutely believe what they believe to be true that truth is ever changing and not absolute .
THEY FUNDAMENTALLY BELIEVE THAT , yet attack fundamnetalism itself .
THESE are clowns and puppets on a string .
THE TRUTH IS the reason most folks love this attack against fundamentalism is , THEY DONT LIKE WHAT THE BIBLE teaches .
ITS NOT really an attack against fundmentalism , ITS AN ATTACK against the BIBLE .
When a man hollers ye must be a baptists to be saved , I LAUGH
or if they holler ye must be a methodists , i laugh.
BUT WHEN a man comes and says YE MUST BELIEVE IN JESUS to be saved and reminds one GET in those bibles
and learn that JESUS . I AGREE . I know muslims , buddists , athiests and etc BELIEVE their way is right
and yet ITS FALSE as in any other mindset is .
I KNOW the one true GOSPEL of CHRIST , IS TRUE . . THE TRUTH IN THE BIBLE IS RIGHT .
And we better learn it .
BUT TO YOU men like me are the problem . cause we expose the error and point only to CHRIST JESUS .
TO you that is in the way . YET I SAY ITS THE ONLY WAY . That is YOUR problem .

EPI might have this right . but his problem is He thinks muslims buddists atheists and etc
can walk as christ does . NO they cant . JESUS walked and he taught . HE ALSO SAID HE WAS AND IS
the only way to GOD and that ye must believe to be saved .
HEY EPI, other religoins DONT BELIEVE HE IS THE WAY TO GOD . SO HOW then can they truly be walking as HE DID .
THE CHRUCH SHOULD walk as JESUS DID . NO DOUBT ABOUT THAT .
But to TRY and WALK as HE DID yet DENY HIS WORDS , YOU AINT WALKING LIKE HE DID .

My problem is not with one saying WE MUST WALK as JESUS DID
that we must carry our cross . MY PROBLEM IS with folks acting like YOU CAN DO THIS WITHOUT FAITH IN CHRIST .

That seems like shooting ourselves in our own foot…and I mean there His own body.

Maybe our definition of perfect is what prevents? Do you assume I suggest no cursing (literally), no eating of certain foods, spending every moment micromanaging our every action and white-knuckling our best to come off as appearing Holy? That is exhausting…a wearing out? If that is perfection …then what is “be you perfect as your Father in Heaven is perfect”?

Well ask him this . If a muslim heard of Christ and then denied HIM as the Son of GOD as the messiah
and yet if they did some good works , IS the truth in them , the Spirit in them just cause they might do some good things .
THEN look at what JESUS said . IF a man believes not in HIM , ITS BECAUSE THERE IS NO TRUTH IN THEM .
EPI dont believe that at all . EPI has the concept of the gospel as what the SOCIAL GOSPEL says it is
NOT WHAT CHRIST says it is . And that has been his problem all along .

This has me scratching my head. Over what is easy and what is hard. One reason I haven’t gone to fellowship dinners in a while. This confused me. Christians fellowshipping during a meal where the topic at the table was others they knew who have not accepted Christ. To literally seeing gloating and pride that “they have chosen Christ” unlike “those they knew who have not.” Gloating over when they will be proved wrong. And to be perfectly ok with others outcome as long as it doesn’t mean them…I guess you are right that it is impossible to be perfect or perfected in Him. That is what we sell “I’m just a sinner” “yet saved”. That is what I mean by shooting our own selves in the foot. Was that what was happening around the dinner table: shooting their own selves in the foot? Claiming how no one can be perfected while discussing “our own salvation” status and others lack of it.

It is all so confusing to me. I can see why Christians are called hypocrites and they claim “No. we are just sinners saved by Grace.”

Being perfect to me is being without sin.

It is also the requirment that God gave for eternal life by our own works.

So what I mean is us being perfect to show us we are his. that is a hard request.

Be perfect as he is perfect? Jesus told the Pharisees what they had to do if they wanted to earn salvation like they thought they did.
