One of the first heretical movements in the Early Church was that of the Gnostics. What Paul is talking about is 1 Tim. 4 are some of their heresies and aberrant practices like forbidding marriage, forbidding certain foods, which they condemned as “evil”. They also condemned ALL material wealth.

The Catholic practice of not eating meat on Fridays during Lent is a discipline – and NOT a matter of doctrine. This is also true for priestly celibacy – which Paul actually ENDORSED as a more excellent way of serving God (1 Cor. 7:12-40).
Paul is condemning the beliefs and practices of the GNOSTIC heretics – NOT the Catholic Church.

However, such divisions are not so much the problem or cause, but rather the symptom of a much bigger problem which was foretold of our time. That being "false teachers" entering into the church corrupting doctrine, and the believing of "a lie" that has caused "strong delusion." Well Jesus was just telling it like it is. Like say some very unwise folks who really believe if we all just love one another there will be peace on earth. Reality check, here comes Jesus with the cold hard facts. True love is not going to bring peace but division. Is everyone going to love the truth? Of course not. Jesus being God knows this. Catholism is an amalgam of some apostolic doctrine mixed with paganism. I put gnosticism in the pagan religion category. Gnostic ideas are part of catholic doctrine. Mary perpetual virginity
as an example. Sex is filthy in catholic teaching, this is why Mary mother of God would never engage in it. Mary raised to diety.
Hebrews 13:4,
-Marriage is honorable among all and the bed undefiled; but fornicators and adulterers God will judge.

Gods word teaches the exact opposite,

Catholics could have very well been on Gods mind when the Spirit revealed,

The thing that is called Christianity is not what the gospel is about. Christianity is a community of divided groups fighting against each other. Is Christ divided? Why is every Christian denomination teaching a different doctrine? According to the scripture, the thing that is called Christianity is not of Christ because Christianity promotes division.
It is amazing to see the lack of simple understanding being exercised by the leaders of these groups.
How can Christianity be teaching the truth when there are hundreds of sects that teach different doctrines? Each of them says that their denomination teaches the truth, so the others must be teaching falsely.

Why Paul? Why are you glad you did not baptize these brethren that have formed sects, factions, denominations? Next verse gives the answer.

This makes you a part of the problem. You do not speak the samr thing as jesus. jesus never called his followers Christians.

Only Christians are baptized in the name of Jesus Christ.
Any other church other than Christ's, you have been baptized into it.!

You are not making any sense, You are saying that people are christians before they are baptized into Christ. You just quoted..Now I plead with you brethren by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that you All speak the Same thing and that there be No Divisions among you, but that you be perfectly joined together in the Same Mind and in the Same judgment.

Then you go right ahead to make your own doctrine.

What do all these churches have in common? All have different doctrines.
What did Paul have to say about that?
1Timothy 1:3,
-as I urged you when I went into Macedonia-remain in Ephesus that you may charge some that they teach no other doctrine.

What doctrine does His church follow?
Acts 2:42,
-and they continued steadfastly in the apostles doctrine and fellowship, in the breaking of bread and in prayers.

Those churches all call themselves Christians that is what they have in common. God did not call anyone to be a Christian.

Did you know the catholic body(church) has two heads?
Head supposedly Christ and really the Pope.
Two heads attached to one body!
That's a two-headed monster!

But also is a Head(Christ) with thousands of bodies.
Ephesians 4:4,
There is one body and one Spirit, just as you were called in one hope of your calling.

Ephesians 4:16,
-from whom the whole body, joined and knit together by what every joint supplies, according to the effective working by which every part does its share, causes growth of the body for the edifying of itself in love.

Catlics are christians, and you are a christian...I know this because you and catholics post in places on this forum where only christians are allowed.
