Oh it wasn't BULL I can assure you. BTW, the believer does not have a law written in ink anymore. How did you come to the conclusion you should go to church on a saturday?
Go to church on Saturday? As I read it it is about resting .....nothing about ink, nothing about church, nothing about the who-ha argued about. It was given in Eden well before any Jews existed.....and it was given to man; I think that was Adam and his kind....a gift :)

Congratulations, you have discovered something revolutionary about the fundamentals of the Christian religion that the most prominent and beloved evangelist of the 20th century couldn't see and evidently had all wrong!

I have reported you for a personal attack on my intent and character that is false.

If you are not going to read what is given as it is written, but assume false intent, then that is your choice. But to then accuse others accordingly is called a false accusation based upon your own false judgement.

Complain of being accused while accusing.

The bottom line is that we don't need pastors and ministers and denominations to do our thinking for us..:)
Jesus said-"You have one teacher, me" (Matthew 23:10)
"And the common people heard him gladly" (Mark 12:37)
In responding to this with...
Couldn't agree more. Jesus asked, when I come will I find faith in the earth? This faith, as Taken said, is more than simply a belief in a general sense. It's a trust and a concrete assurance that what God says, He means. Second guessing, excusing, finding fault, and even searching scripture to discover reasons why God didn't mean what He says any more, are expressions of a complete lack of faith. They no longer believe God. Which is far worse than not believing He exists. These are people who profess to believe in God, but no longer believe His word. And in respect to this topic, they no longer believe the 4th Commandment. That is a lack of faith.
I wasn't at all suggesting that belonging to a denomination is a bad thing. If as you say @Dropship , we ought not allow our denominations speak for us, that doesn't not mean that if we are led by the Spirit of God to a denomination that reflects the truths were have studied for ourselves, them by all means we should attach ourselves to that group of people. Markedly, that could never be done in a non denominational setting.

Oh its all true. I was absolutely staggered to find people laughing and joking whilst they took the Lords name in vain, apparantly unaware they were breaking the ten commandments whilst doing so. Never come accross that before in over four decades of going to various denominational churches. Obviously, I am not claiming in the churches I have been to there was sinless perfection. But neither was there the examples I gave, which were all FACTUALLY correct
I was willing to give you the benefit of the doubt regarding your gossip regarding one woman having multiple affairs, although I am far from convinced. But the above... Like Barney I call, bovine fecal matter.

Doesn't scripture say to avoid the doctrines of man?
Indeed it does. But one ought not do that until he has exhaustively investigated whether that man's, or denominations doctrines, are biblical or not. You will not be found guiltless for refusing to investigate Truth while you have the opportunity to do so. You may find yourself opposing God's Revelation to you.

Why is it so important for any denominations doctrine to be taught and/or thrown in the face of another's doctrine.

Seventh-day Adventists sincerely believe that God has given their church an urgent message to give the world that will prepare them to withstand the overwhelming delusion that will be perpetrated by the devil just before Jesus returns.

Anyway, there are so many doctrines in this world that Jesus message gets choked out from all the debating between one another.

That's why the apostle Paul says that "there must also be factions among you, that those who are approved may be recognized among you." (1 Corinthians 11:19)

Will there ever be unity of faith?

Yes, certainly, and more! It has been prophesied in Ephesians 4:13

I believe there will be when the separation of the wheat and tares takes place.

It will actually come a bit before that. The world will be in darkness, and then the Everlasting Gospel will go to the whole world (Revelation 14:6).

P.S. In reference to the first quote, I really don't understand terms like "thrown in the face of another." If someone abuses me too harshly on an online forum, I know how to change or close tabs in my browser—in all seriousness; not trying to be facetious at all. It really puzzles me.

I remember when MySpace first started getting really popular about 15 or so years ago, people that I worked with were getting emotionally traumatized by the activity on it, and all I could think (or sometimes even say) was "Doesn't your computer have a power button?"

My sister allowed Facebook to completely destroy her and her (now ex-) husband's family. She hates my guts because I told her ex on Facebook that I was happy for him for finally finding a new gal after 10 years of being divorced from her. He was my best friend in high school. That was just the icing on the cake, though. She's been collecting little things to hate me for for over 12 years now.

But it's not just me. She has alienated herself from everyone in the family except for my dad (and one of our many cousins), who tolerates her because she can't support herself financially, and he can't support himself and her without rooming with her. Countless are the times he's called me crying that he's at his wit's end. He won't leave her, though. I don't blame him at all, but I hate what she's doing to him. He's a shell of the man he used to be.

I've been reconciled to her many times, usually by apologizing profusely for something I didn't do. But I always end up saying or doing something that infuriates her, and I've come to the point where I'm tired of walking on eggshells trying to avoid her ire. I feel it's my Christian duty to reach out to her in love (I love her desperately--that's her kissing me on the cheek in my avatar when she was 3 and I was celebrating my 11th birthday) but every time she turns on me my immediate family becomes more and more resentful toward her. It's a very difficult balancing act for which I admit I'm losing enthusiasm.

I probably could use some prayers. It's going to take a bona fide miracle to heal the damage that's been done, and I'm worried about what will happen to her if/when my dad passes away. He's not doing well. He sent me this pic today by text:

I could counter that by saying perhaps the 'Spirit of God' has led me and my chums to be non-denominational..;)

My brother, we all have our crucibles, and sometimes it's good to share and unload a little of the burden. My whole marriage has been one of peacemaking and negotiating between my wife and her immediate siblings, tensions and issues not of her making. In the end we moved countries. Not quite as drastic as that may sound as a form of escape, but it did play a part and we are not ungrateful for the ensuing relative peace. Getting my wife away from Facebook is another matter. Main reason we moved was to be with our children and grandchildren who had moved several years previous. Family can be hard.

..perhaps the 'Spirit of God' has led me and my chums to be non-denominational..;)

But I suggest that's merely an interlude on a journey to truth and purpose. Don't stop searching.

Christians are not searching for anything, we knocked Jesus's door and he said "Come on in, the kettle's on"..:)
"Knock and the door will be opened to you" (Matthew 7:7)
It's only other faiths and cults who are on a never-ending "path" because Christianity is too hard for them so they look for some soft easy route in the mistaken belief that "all roads lead to God"-

Christians are not searching for anything,
If Christians aren't still searching for truth, and hungering and thirsting for righteousness, then you have totally destroyed everything I thought I knew about the after life. Your are writing to this forum from heaven. How's the internet reception from up there? And to think I didn't even believe in the rapture... Have I been left behind?

Seventh Day Adventist Sabbath day observers base their faith and practise on the following (not exclusively of course)...

KJV Genesis 2:1-3
1 Thus the heavens and the earth were finished, and all the host of them.
2 And on the seventh day God ended his work which he had made; and he rested on the seventh day from all his work which he had made.
3 And God blessed the seventh day, and sanctified it: because that in it he had rested from all his work which God created and made.

KJV Exodus 20:8
8 Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy.

KJV Isaiah 58:10-14
10 And if thou draw out thy soul to the hungry, and satisfy the afflicted soul; then shall thy light rise in obscurity, and thy darkness be as the noonday:
11 And the LORD shall guide thee continually, and satisfy thy soul in drought, and make fat thy bones: and thou shalt be like a watered garden, and like a spring of water, whose waters fail not.
12 And they that shall be of thee shall build the old waste places: thou shalt raise up the foundations of many generations; and thou shalt be called, The repairer of the breach, The restorer of paths to dwell in.
13 If thou turn away thy foot from the sabbath, from doing thy pleasure on my holy day; and call the sabbath a delight, the holy of the LORD, honourable; and shalt honour him, not doing thine own ways, nor finding thine own pleasure, nor speaking thine own words:
14 Then shalt thou delight thyself in the LORD; and I will cause thee to ride upon the high places of the earth, and feed thee with the heritage of Jacob thy father: for the mouth of the LORD hath spoken it.

KJV Matthew 12:8
8 For the Son of man is Lord even of the sabbath day .

KJV Matthew 12:11-12
11 And he said unto them, What man shall there be among you, that shall have one sheep, and if it fall into a pit on the sabbath day, will he not lay hold on it, and lift it out?
12 How much then is a man better than a sheep? Wherefore it is lawful to do well on the sabbath days.

KJV Luke 24:25-27
25 Then he said unto them, O fools, and slow of heart to believe all that the prophets have spoken:
26 Ought not Christ to have suffered these things, and to enter into his glory?
27 And beginning at Moses and all the prophets, he expounded unto them in all the scriptures the things concerning himself.

KJV Revelation 14:6-12
6 And I saw another angel fly in the midst of heaven, having the everlasting gospel to preach unto them that dwell on the earth, and to every nation, and kindred, and tongue, and people,
7 Saying with a loud voice, Fear God, and give glory to him; for the hour of his judgment is come: and worship him that made heaven, and earth, and the sea, and the fountains of waters.
8 And there followed another angel, saying, Babylon is fallen, is fallen, that great city, because she made all nations drink of the wine of the wrath of her fornication.
9 And the third angel followed them, saying with a loud voice, If any man worship the beast and his image, and receive his mark in his forehead, or in his hand,
10 The same shall drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is poured out without mixture into the cup of his indignation; and he shall be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels, and in the presence of the Lamb:
11 And the smoke of their torment ascendeth up for ever and ever: and they have no rest day nor night, who worship the beast and his image, and whosoever receiveth the mark of his name.
12 Here is the patience of the saints: here are they that keep the commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus.

did you notice that neither Deuteronomy 6 nor Leviticus 19 happen to be the 10 commandments?

Oh, but they are.

Deut 6:5 covers the 1st 4 Commandments '5 And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy might." , and
Lev 19:18 covers the last 6 "18 Thou shalt not avenge, nor bear any grudge against the children of thy people, but thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself: I am the Lord."

screen-shot-2020-10-13-at-16.13.27_ver_1.png

37 Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. 38 This is the first and great commandment. 39 And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. 40 On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.

They have been in force for as long as the earth has been here (completed Creation week.) If there were no law, how were Adam and Eve condemned? (Number 1) What law did Cain break?( Number 6)
Jesus came to magnify the law. He not only said that You shall not kill--he magnified it to show that hating your brother is also a sin. It is killing in the eyes of God,--this is not a doing away. this is magnified.

Sabbath is unique to this earth, and was done as a memorial of Creation. God spends time with His people--that was the plan for it--put away secular cares, and be with the Lord. Never a bad thing. Isa 66 says that we will come to worship the Lord in the Kingdom on Sabbath.

You folk keep going on the doing away of the 10 Commandments, when everyone who says they are a good Christian keeps 9 of them.

And again I ask, if the keeping of the 7th day is not a sin, then why do you guys harp on how if we keep it correctly? Who cares?

Most of the Sabbath threads started here are a complaint by someone who wants to diss on a Sabbath keeper because of something. If a sabbath keeper responds, and gives a reason for his faith, you start attacking.

C'mon, if Sabbathkeeping or not Sabbathkeeping is not even a problem, maybe you folk should find some other subject to harp on. It doesn't matter how we keep it, if it is not important.

For fair warning, I consider accusation of unrighteous anger against others, which is hatred, to be a personal attack. There are some trying to have me blocked from this site by spurious accusations such as yours, because they are convicted by my teaching. Therefore, I am no longer allowing such things to just pass by.

Next time you accuse me of anger against others, without asking me about it first, then I will report you for a personal attack. If you cannot be professional and stick to the argument at hand, then it is best not to respond at all.

Threats, now, is it? This just keeps getting worse and worse.

What's "professional" about an Internet discussion board?

Robert, you're kinda famous around here for being antagonistic. Why don't you just repent, revive, and reform? You seem to be overly sensitive to what you perceive to be character attacks. A thread making the claim that a hypothetical or absentee group of "Sabbath Commanders" do not worship God in spirit effectively amounts to antagonism well-suited to get Sabbath-keepers riled up, and I think you know that, but I could be wrong. That's not an attack on your character—it's an observation about your actions. It's no sin to admit you're wrong. I do it all the time. I'm too defensive about my beliefs and my denomination. See? That was easy. I pray every day that God will help me to stop being overly indignant. I really believe He's doing it, in His own time.

Out of all the ad naseum attempts of Sabbath commanders to command every Christian on the planet to keep their Sabbath day, the exact way they do, Outwardly, I can't recall them ever speaking of actually worshiping God.

And if they did, then it certainly is not in Spirit and in truth, but in day of the week only.

Apparently, the outer man is everything, and the inner man is nothing.

Even so ye also outwardly appear righteous unto men, but within ye are full of hypocrisy and iniquity.
The more I review this OP, the more utterly snide and spurious it appears to me. Who are the "Sabbath Commanders?" I'd really like to know.
Why don't Sabbath Day Commanders ever speak of the Inner Man?
This seems an incredibly odd thing for the OP to point out in the title of the thread because the converted person loves God's law according to Romans 7:22:
(And the law being spoken of is definitely the ten commandments according to verse 7)

New International Version
For in my inner being I delight in God’s law;

New Living Translation
I love God’s law with all my heart.

English Standard Version
For I delight in the law of God, in my inner being,

King James Bible
For I delight in the law of God after the inward man:

New King James Version
For I delight in the law of God according to the inward man.

New American Standard Bible
For I joyfully agree with the law of God in the inner person,

Amplified Bible
For I joyfully delight in the law of God in my inner self [with my new nature],

Holman Christian Standard Bible
For in my inner self I joyfully agree with God’s law.

Contemporary English Version
With my whole heart I agree with the Law of God.

New Revised Standard Version
For I delight in the law of God in my inmost self,

Young's Literal Translation
for I delight in the law of God according to the inward man,

Inner man; inner self - ἔσω ἄνθρωπον; ἔσω ὁ - same basic term for the spirit that is renewed by conversion used in other of Pauline Scripture passages:

Ephesians 3:16, 2 Corinthians 4:16, etc.

The very law of God itself is s-p-i-r-i-t-u-a-l. (Romans 7:14)

I'm just readin' the Bible here...

Oh, but they are.

I think you miss my point.
The basis of the law is in what your pastor undoubtedly calls 'the handwriting' that was nailed to the cross and taken away - and tells you that the 10 commandments are not taken away.

But that is saying the 10 commandments have no more basis, because the basis isn't actually the 10 commandments. Those are secondary to Deuteronomy 6 and Leviticus 19.

Love God and your neighbor is not extrapolated from the Ten Commandments, it's the other way around. The 10 aren't the basis of the law.
