Both legalism and liberalism are virulent cancers that take and destroy the souls of many believers. It causes them to twist teh Scriptures to their own destruction.

I generally agree with your posts, but not this one. Liberalism is not and never was a virulent cancer. It is the only hope that we have to save society.

I object to your saying that I, as a liberal, "twist the scriptures". Can you give me an example?

Finally, I believe that Jesus was one of the great liberals! He stood up to the conservative Pharisees and Sadducees, showing them that their legalism and self-righteousness were contrary to God's will. Not much has changed!

It was said that way and explained later that the Sabbath is for Israel and all gentile prolytes! .., Unless you can show a verse that shows all that ( AND NOT A MISREADING OF THIS POST) YOU ARE MISTAKEN GRAVELY.
I can, and very easily, but it makes no difference to you guys. You just keep right on lying about it.
Here ya go:
Exodus 12:38
Deuteronomy 29:14-15

There ya go. All that came out of Egypt were a mixed multitude. Not one race of people. Now read the Deut. verse 100x.

Won't make any difference to you because you have no eyes to see, nor ears to hear.
Find me a new Testament verse that says all 10 commandments are still valid for the church. I know nine of the ten were carried over, but the Sabbath wasn't.
My pleasure.
1 John 2:6
John 15:10
Luke 23:54-56

And if 9 of the 10 were carried over, as you admit, then why are you here claiming that the 9 Commandments are a ministration of death?

You always act as if you've got me in a tight spot; as if you've got me cornered. It's not me that you're wrestling with. It's God's Word.

And it'll be a cold day in hell before you corner the Master of All Creation. I am blessed and humbled that He always has my back.

Can you spell "modesty" or "self-delusion". Jesus said that He was the truth, and you're clearly not Jesus. If you think you're infallible that's a delusion!

All 613 including teh tables of stone were fulfilled and rendered obsolete. It is only modern heretical Covenant theology and Pharisees that say the Ten Commandments are still active for the church. YOu have drank tainted kool-aid.
Your arguments are pretty playgroundish. Just saying. Look 'em over. Lotta bluster.

Not enough conviction to make a thoughtful case?

"That is our goal to show we are righteous because of christ!?"

You can't even be bothered to capitalize the name of the Saviour of the world?

Short on time or somethin'?

I'm just sayin', it looks like an afterthought.

You don't address half of the stuff addressed to you and you just phone in the rest.

Not trying to be disrespectful, honestly, but come on, man.

Both legalism and liberalism are virulent cancers that take and destroy the souls of many believers. It causes them to twist teh Scriptures to their own destruction.

Moderation is the key, yes:

I know thy works, that thou art neither cold nor hot: I would thou wert cold or hot. So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of my mouth.

God's Word is infallible.

The Sabbath "Commandment" is the 4th of the 10 Stone Commandments.
Exodus 20:8
The 10 Commandments were given to everybody ... forever.
Exodus 12:38
Deuteronomy 29:14-15
Jesus told all who would ever follow Him to obey them all when He told His disciples, as well as the crowd that looked on, that we should obey the teachings of the scribes and Pharisees who taught the 10 Commandments - none of which obeyed them. Jesus said 'Do as they say, not as they do.'
Matthew 23:1-3
His followers obeyed them all; including obeying the Sabbath after His death on the Cross.
Luke 23:54-56
We are told by John to obey all that Christ obeyed.
1 John 2:6
Jesus obeyed them all. (that includes the Sabbath)
John 15:10

You, my enemy, obey 9 of them - while hypocritically declaring that nobody should obey any of them.

I don't have to be Jesus to speak boldly (not modestly) in defense of the Truth as we are commanded to do by God.

And, as proven above, I'm not the one who's delusional here.

Not for teh gentiles who did not convert to Judaism.
Where is there in scripture anything requiring a conversion to Judaism? Conversion required always a return to God... The church in the OT was merely God's instrument in teaching and explaining the law and demonstrating the love of God... His character... To the world. The first and foremost thing for any one outside of Israel was to acknowledge the Good of Israel and keep His Commandments. You didn't absolutely need Israel to do that.

KJV Isaiah 56:1-7
1 Thus saith the LORD, Keep ye judgment, and do justice: for my salvation is near to come, and my righteousness to be revealed.
2 Blessed is the man that doeth this, and the son of man that layeth hold on it; that keepeth the sabbath from polluting it, and keepeth his hand from doing any evil.
3 Neither let the son of the stranger, that hath joined himself to the LORD, speak, saying, The LORD hath utterly separated me from his people: neither let the eunuch say, Behold, I am a dry tree.
4 For thus saith the LORD unto the eunuchs that keep my sabbaths, and choose the things that please me, and take hold of my covenant;
5 Even unto them will I give in mine house and within my walls a place and a name better than of sons and of daughters: I will give them an everlasting name, that shall not be cut off.
6 Also the sons of the stranger, that join themselves to the LORD, to serve him, and to love the name of the LORD, to be his servants, every one that keepeth the sabbath from polluting it, and taketh hold of my covenant;
7 Even them will I bring to my holy mountain, and make them joyful in my house of prayer: their burnt offerings and their sacrifices shall be accepted upon mine altar; for mine house shall be called an house of prayer for all people.

KJV Acts 13:42-44
42 And when the Jews were gone out of the synagogue, the Gentiles besought that these words might be preached to them the next sabbath.
43 Now when the congregation was broken up, many of the Jews and religious proselytes followed Paul and Barnabas: who, speaking to them, persuaded them to continue in the grace of God.
44 And the next sabbath day came almost the whole city together to hear the word of the Lord

I'll be really young then. I'll be in heaven. Jesus is coming way before then.
I don't know how advanced in years you are 1CL, but I certainly agree with you. As I view the world and the church, turning 99 in view of the second coming is unthinkable. And yet I still remember clearly that in the 80s I didn't think I'd reach 45.
