Good Deeds and the Shinning Light of the Scriptures can defeat all that is Evil

Matthew 25:31-46
The Parable of the Sheep and the Goats
“When the Son of Man comes in his glory, and all the angels with him, he will sit on his glorious throne. All the nations will be gathered before him, and he will separate the people one from another as a shepherd separates the sheep from the goats. He will put the sheep on his right and the goats on his left. “Then the King will say to those on his right, ‘Come, you who are blessed by my Father; take your inheritance, the kingdom prepared for you since the creation of the world. For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.’ “Then the righteous will answer him, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you something to drink? When did we see you a stranger and invite you in, or needing clothes and clothe you? When did we see you sick or in prison and go to visit you?’ “The King will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.’ “Then he will say to those on his left, ‘Depart from me, you who are cursed, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels. For I was hungry and you gave me nothing to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me nothing to drink, 43 I was a stranger and you did not invite me in, I needed clothes and you did not clothe me, I was sick and in prison and you did not look after me.’ “They also will answer, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry or thirsty or a stranger or needing clothes or sick or in prison, and did not help you?’ “He will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did not do for one of the least of these, you did not do for me.’
“Then they will go away to eternal punishment, but the righteous to eternal life.”

I have never met anyone on the forum that believes that Good Deeds are what saves you. But people will twist it and say they do. What kind of person is that? But Christ believed and said that not doing Good Deeds will send you to Hell.

The Parable of the Good Samaritan
On one occasion an expert in the law stood up to test Jesus. “Teacher,” he asked, “what must I do to inherit eternal life?” “What is written in the Law?” he replied. “How do you read it?” He answered, “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind’ and, ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.

“You have answered correctly,” Jesus replied. “Do this and you will live.”

But he wanted to justify himself, so he asked Jesus, “And who is my neighbor?” In reply Jesus said: “A man was going down from Jerusalem to Jericho, when he was attacked by robbers. They stripped him of his clothes, beat him and went away, leaving him half dead. A priest happened to be going down the same road, and when he saw the man, he passed by on the other side. So too, a Levite, when he came to the place and saw him, passed by on the other side. But a Samaritan, as he traveled, came where the man was; and when he saw him, he took pity on him. He went to him and bandaged his wounds, pouring on oil and wine. Then he put the man on his own donkey, brought him to an inn and took care of him. The next day he took out two denarii and gave them to the innkeeper. ‘Look after him,’ he said, ‘and when I return, I will reimburse you for any extra expense you may have.’

“Which of these three do you think was a neighbor to the man who fell into the hands of robbers?”

The expert in the law replied, “The one who had mercy on him.”

Jesus told him, “Go and do likewise.”

In these two parables that were spoken by Christ Himself we see that Good Deeds are a reflection of the Spirit of Christ.

Matthew 5:16
Let your light shine before men in such a way that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father who is in heaven.

Galatians 6:9
Let us not lose heart in doing good, for in due time we will reap if we do not grow weary.

Colossians 3:17
Whatever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks through Him to God the Father.

James 4:17
Therefore, to one who knows the right thing to do and does not do it, to him it is sin.

James 2:26
For just as the body without the spirit is dead, so also faith without works is dead.

Hebrews 10:24
and let us consider how to stimulate one another to love and good deeds,

Titus 2:7-8
in all things show yourself to be an example of good deeds, with purity in doctrine, dignified, sound in speech which is beyond reproach, so that the opponent will be put to shame, having nothing bad to say about us.

Titus 3:14
Our people must also learn to engage in good deeds to meet pressing needs, so that they will not be unfruitful.

James 1:27
Pure and undefiled religion in the sight of our God and Father is this: to visit orphans and widows in their distress, and to keep oneself unstained by the world.

Ephesians 2:10
For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand so that we would walk in them.

James 2:14-17
What use is it, my brethren, if someone says he has faith but he has no works? Can that faith save him? If a brother or sister is without clothing and in need of daily food, and one of you says to them, “Go in peace, be warmed and be filled,” and yet you do not give them what is necessary for their body, what use is that? Even so faith, if it has no works, is dead, being by itself.

3rd John 1:11
Beloved, do not imitate what is evil, but what is good. The one who does good is of God; the one who does evil has not seen God.

James 2:24
You see that a man is justified by works and not by faith alone.

1 Timothy 6:18
Instruct them to do good, to be rich in good works, to be generous and ready to share,

Hebrews 13:16
And do not neglect doing good and sharing, for with such sacrifices God is pleased.

Galatians 6:10
So then, while we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, and especially to those who are of the household of the faith.

John 5:28-29
Do not marvel at this; for an hour is coming, in which all who are in the tombs will hear His voice, and will come forth; those who did the good deeds to a resurrection of life, those who committed the evil deeds to a resurrection of judgment.

Luke 3:11
And he answered them, “Whoever has two tunics is to share with him who has none, and whoever has food is to do likewise.”

The born again are kept as "made righteous", having become "the righteousness of God in Christ".
This is the end result of God accepting your faith in Christ, one time.
You dont have to keep believing, regarding being born again, and you can't ever stop being born again.

There’s Nothing quite like a giant “Scripture Wall”That is ignored by everyone that encounters it....are you “ new” to Forums? The less people know, the more they type....it’s a good thing that Computer Ink is not tied into gas prices ....Were that the case, Grails wallet would be nearly as empty as his Accursed “Doctrine” Of Works.....

@Grailhunter throws tantrums..........= "Scripture walls", and of course when he is really flailing, he'll say something hateful.
Possibly all related to a lack of discipline in the household @growing up..?????? as certainly he would not behave this way in Church.
At least we hope not.

Saying something hateful?..I could never keep up with you and JimB. No flailing and no tantrums. But I do have some scriptures that I think you need to review. Or at least have your black magic marker out to line them out.

2nd Corinthians :5:10: For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ; that every one may receive the things done in his body, according to that he hath done, whether it be good or bad.

1st Corinthians 6:9-10 “Or do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived; neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor homosexuals, nor thieves, nor the covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor swindlers, will not inherit the kingdom of God.”

Galatians 5:21 Now the deeds of the flesh are evident, which are: sexual immorality, impurity, indecent behavior, 20 idolatry, sorcery, hostilities, strife, jealousy, outbursts of anger, selfish ambition, dissensions, factions, 21 envy, drunkenness, carousing, and things like these, of which I forewarn you, just as I have forewarned you, that those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God.

Revelation 21:8
But for the cowardly and unbelieving and abominable and murderers and immoral persons and sorcerers and idolaters and all liars, their part will be in the lake that burns with fire and brimstone, which is the second death.”

Matthew 7:22-23 Many will say to me on that day, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name and in your name drive out demons and in your name perform many miracles?’ Then I will tell them plainly, ‘I never knew you. Away from me, you evildoers!’

Hebrews 10: 26-31
For if we go on sinning willfully after receiving the knowledge of the truth, there no longer remains a sacrifice for sins, but a terrifying expectation of judgment and the fury of a fire which will consume the adversaries. Anyone who has set aside the Law of Moses dies without mercy on the testimony of two or three witnesses. How much severer punishment do you think he will deserve who has trampled under foot the Son of God, and has regarded as unclean the blood of the covenant by which he was sanctified, and has insulted the Spirit of grace? For we know Him who said, “Vengeance is Mine, I will repay.” And again, “The Lord will judge His people.” It is a terrifying thing to fall into the hands of the living God.

2nd Peter 2:1-21
But false prophets also arose among the people, just as there will also be false teachers among you, who will secretly introduce destructive heresies, even denying the Master who bought them, bringing swift destruction upon themselves. Many will follow their sensuality, and because of them the way of the truth will be maligned; and in their greed they will exploit you with false words; their judgment from long ago is not idle, and their destruction is not asleep.

For if God did not spare angels when they sinned, but cast them into hell and committed them to pits of darkness, reserved for judgment; and did not spare the ancient world, but preserved Noah, a preacher of righteousness, with seven others, when He brought a flood upon the world of the ungodly; And if He condemned the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah to destruction by reducing them to ashes, having made them an example to those who would live ungodly lives thereafter; and if He rescued righteous Lot, oppressed by the sensual conduct of unprincipled men (for by what he saw and heard that righteous man, while living among them, felt his righteous soul tormented day after day by their lawless deeds), then the Lord knows how to rescue the godly from temptation, and to keep the unrighteous under punishment for the day of judgment, and especially those who indulge the flesh in its corrupt desires and despise authority. Daring,
self-willed, they do not tremble when they revile angelic majesties,

whereas angels who are greater in might and power do not bring a reviling judgment against them before the Lord. But these, like unreasoning animals, born as creatures of instinct to be captured and killed, reviling where they have no knowledge, will in the destruction of those creatures also be destroyed, suffering wrong as the wages of doing wrong. They count it a pleasure to revel in the daytime. They are stains and blemishes, reveling in their deceptions, as they carouse with you, having eyes full of adultery that never cease from sin, enticing unstable souls, having a heart trained in greed, accursed children;

forsaking the right way, they have gone astray, having followed the way of Balaam, the son of Beor, who loved the wages of unrighteousness; but he received a rebuke for his own transgression, for a mute donkey, speaking with a voice of a man, restrained the madness of the prophet. These are springs without water and mists driven by a storm, for whom the black darkness has been reserved. For speaking out arrogant words
of vanity they entice by fleshly desires, by sensuality, those who barely escape from the ones who live in error, promising them freedom while they themselves are slaves of corruption; for by what a man is overcome, by this he is enslaved.

For if, after they have escaped the defilements of the world by the knowledge of the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, they are again entangled in them and are overcome, the last state has become worse for them than the first, For it would be better for them not to have known the way of righteousness, than having known it, to turn away from the holy commandment handed on to them. It has happened to them according to the true proverb, “A dog returns to its own vomit,” and, “A sow, after washing, returns to wallowing in the mire.”

1st John:3:8:
the one who practices sin is of the devil; for the devil has sinned from the beginning. The Son of God appeared for this purpose, to destroy the works of the devil.

You guys need to put your minds together and consider living your lives in a way that is pleasing to God.

I can only speak for myself, but I do way more than “Please Him”—— I *WORSHIP* Him ....As you would do also if you KNEW Him....you don’t know Him....To your dismay , You will find out on Judgement Day That He never “ knew you” either.....It’s the Terrible Fate awaiting ALL of the Tares that are “ Accursed” ( God Damned) for teaching “ False and Perverted “ Gospels” like yours—-”Do good, be Good” for Salvation....

No mention of the Astounding Mercy and Grace that God bestows on those with Contrite Hearts That merely “ Turn to Him” with child- like Faith.....No Credit, much less any “WORSHIP ” Given to the Savior That underwent Hell so you would not have to .....It’s all about “ YOU”and your ability to be a “ Good Widdle Boy”......Nobody can Worship Jesus and themselves at the same time . You Worship not Christ, but you Worship yourself and your pitiful performance of “ being good enough” to merit Heaven....

I “please God “ by knowing who “HE” is and who “ I” ain’t.....when it comes to my Salvation, I know who gets 100% of the Credit and I also know who gets exactly 0% of the Credit .....you will come to Know it someday....and it will be too late....Your Eternal Fate will be well- deserved....

All you Newbies out there! Wanna short - cut to “ Please God?” Sure you do ! Here’s how....Be prepared in your Heart to answer God in the following manner when you stand before Him and He ask’s you, “What did “YOU” ever do that I should let you into My Kingdom”......Try to remember this line from an Old Hymn That gets it Right....Try saying this—- “I DID NOTHING! ‘ Nothing of myself I bring, it’s ONLY to the Cross that I cling “ Try to remember that Line, all of you “ legalists” and “ Do -Goodists” out there that

think you can Merit Heaven with your pathetic “ morality” and Law Keeping......

Remember that you heard it here first, as you get carted off to Hell, immediately after hearing “I Never Knew You!”

Have a nice day!

I pray the newbies take notice of all the scripture @Grailhunter posts.

OTOH you and @Behold provide none.
As usual. Because there is none to back up your strange doctrine.

I pray newbies read the NT.

I pray you learn to treat others with respect and love.

John 13:35
By this shall all men know that you are my disciples, that you love one another.

Here are some thoughts, regarding "Losing your Faith"

Here is the reality... > Your Faith does not save you.
God SAVED you >through your Faith. = ONCE.... Proof = BORN AGAIN.
Big difference.
Vital Distinction.

So, falling away from it after you are SAVED, basically does nothing but allow others to esteem you as a backslider.
God doesn't because God does not count sin against a SON of God, as He's already counted them all against His "only Begotten" for you.
This "backslider" is a SON of GOD who is off the main path but they are not "LOST" , as they were previously found by Jesus's Blood and redeemed, which is the reason they are SAVED at all.

There are a lot of Christian's who are no where near the path of Light, yet they are all Children of the Light., by being "born again" into the Spirit of God.
Reader....There is no verse in the NT that says....> you fell out of Christ".
And that is because you can't.
You are "bone of Jesus Christ's bones, and flesh of Jesus Christ's flesh".
"ONE with God"...>"In Christ". A "new Creation".
"As Jesus is so are the born again in this world".... right now. = "seated in heavenly placed, IN CHRIST....right now".

On the Day God saved you, He knew all about what you would do wrong and right, later.
So, if you have a faith issue, God knew you would, and yet, He saved you anyway.
Why? Because once He does, then Jesus becomes the Author and FINISHER of your Faith, an God who started Salvation in you, will be faithful to complete it.
Hebrews 12:2. and Philippians 1:6

We as BIBLE believers are to understand that in Eternity, in Heaven, the only Sin that God evaluates, to evaluate you, is the unpardonable sin of Christ Rejection.
This is the unpardonable sin., and if you die a Christ Rejector, then you prevent Christ on the Cross from taking your sin,.....and you die "un-pardoned".
= the un-pardonable....sin.
= Christ Rejection.
This is actually choosing to go to Hell.
Bad choice.
See.....Its only a Christ Rejector......its only THIS sin, that is alone dealt with In Heaven, in Revelation 20:11. Great White Throne.
Believers only meet God as FATHER and never as Judge, and we meet Christ because we Trusted Him on EARTH But if you didn't, and die then you dont meet Christ as your Savior, you only meet the JUDGE who Sent Jesus here, and you Rejected Him. And now God will reject YOU..
= Hell .... = THE LAKE OF FIRE . "this is the 2nd Death".

So, if you are not saved, and you are reading this... please do not reject Christ and meet God as your Judge.
Please don't do that.
Receive Jesus, Trust in Jesus..... kneel at the Cross in your heart and receive the LOVE of God.... End up happy in Heaven, and eternally so.

Down here, on earth, a believer's bad behavior is dealt with by.= "reaping and sowing".
And God will also correct a born again believer for flesh issues, .. Hebrews 12:6.
The born again meet God as their Father.
The unsaved, meet God as their Judge.
On earth, all meet "sowing and reaping" for sin or "works of the flesh"..., so, be sure your deeds are not the type that are going to harvest a season of pain in your life.

People want to judge God, and the bible, based on their opinion.
(self righteousness)
But God's ways are higher than ours, as in as high as Heaven is from the earth, is how differently God's thinks and behaves, as compared to how we would try to do the same.
WE, as humans, can't even grasp that a holy God would come to earth and die for the UNGODLY....Yet He DID.
Jesus looked down from the cross into the hate filled eyes of those who wanted him up there and LOVED THEM and said..."Father forgive them".

Self Righteous believers can't stand the fact that God's Grace continues to be the same, unchanging for people who are born again,, but who don't live a holy life.
What they want to think about them, is that they deserve hell, or that they have lost their salvation. That is how the self righteous would have it for them.
Thats how they feel.... and that is how they sound on Forums like this one.
That's is their carnal flesh-mind. That is how it reacts against the Grace of God, at times.
The more of a legalist you are, the more you will have these types of feelings and beliefs.
Did you want to cast the first stone? ??

Parents dont love their children because they are bad or good, they love them because they are their Children, and that is God's love. That is God's love for us, and His love is everlasting and UNCONDITIONAL.
We dont earn it. We RECEIVE IT. Salvation is a GIFT.
They who are cold to God and off the walk of faith, are still always His Blood bought Children, and He does not love them less because they are horrible people.
On the day He saved them God knew they would turn out to be rotten stinking Christians.
But Christians they are, and to HIM they belong, as "new BIRTH", and its the Blood Atonement that decided this for them on the day they gave their Faith in Christ to God.

ALL sin is pardoned on the CROSS and offered as : SALVATION.
In fact, that God does not charge you for yours, as Christ has already died for them ALL = Romans 4:8.
If you reader, have not studied this verse deeply, then you need to study it.
And you need to study this one also..... Hebrews 13:9.
AS if you don't follow that one, early in your born again "babe in Christ" experience, then you'll potentially end up as a devout Legalist on a forum like this one at some point teaching Galatians 1:8.
Many of these are here today

So, again....about "losing Faith"....
"whatever is not of faith (losing faith for example) is sin"
=""where SIN Abounds (in the LIFE OF A BORN AGAIN CHRISTIAN), .. GRACE more abounds".
"God who began your salvation in you, will HIMSELF be FAITHFUL to COMPLETE it".
Philippians 1:6
"Jesus is the author and FINISHER of your FAITH"
Hebrews 12:2
In other words, you can't out-sin God's Grace.
Many try it, but it can't be done.
You can only "fall away" from it, and become what Paul is describing in Galatians.
""are you so FOOLISH< (that you use to Trust Christ to keep you saved) , but now you are gone BACK into the (flesh) worrying about the 10 commandments, and the law, and lifestyle, and holding unto your faith, trying to keep yourself saved..
You are "" FALLEN...from GRACE."
This is the Legalist.

So, understand that "holding onto your faith", is not principally different than keeping the 10 commandments, regarding its inability to save you or keep you saved.

A person says......"but my faith is what saved me".
And the NT says....NO = God saved you, through your faith".
And Jesus said of our Salvation while ON the Cross, "it if finished".

A believer says.... "ummm, well, ok, faith does not save me, it's God through the Blood of Jesus who SAVED me.....I see, BUT....what if i fall out of faith". ?????
What if you do?
What if you don't.
This does not stipulate or control or condemn the blood bought redemption that has happened to you.
= "New Birth".
= "New Creation IN CHRIST".
Faith does not do this, it only allows GOD TO DO IT TO YOU, FOR YOU, through your Faith.
HE DID iT FOR YOU.
ITS DONE. .... if you are born again.

So, It really does come down to one realization.
Its not what you trusted to SAVE YOU< but its what you are trusting to KEEP YOU SAVED.....is the issue that is deceiving the Legalist.
AS right here is where a legalist "falls from Grace", and into "self saving."

Remember...Salvation, is an eternal blood bought contract between the Blood of Jesus and your initial Faith, that results in you going to heaven to be with the family of GOD : only based on Jesus on THE CROSS.
A very edifying post @Behold

We are not sealed until Judgment Day. Work out your salvation with fear and trembling. The Way as it was called is not a religion of immorality. You want to be counted with those going to heaven....be good and do good....to the best of your ability.
2Co_1:22 Who hath also sealed us, and given the earnest of the Spirit in our hearts.
Eph_1:13 In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise,
Eph_4:30 And grieve not the holy Spirit of God, whereby ye are sealed unto the day of redemption.

redemption. Final deliverance; now we have the earnest. See Eph_1:14.

Yup, no humility, the majority have reached the unobtainable holy bar in THIS life, in the flesh, boasting about experiences that is not in line with what stands written in scriptures.

(1.) Is “any want of conformity unto or transgression of the law of God” (1Jn_3:4; Rom_4:15), in the inward state and habit of the soul, as well as in the outward conduct of the life, whether by omission or commission (Rom_6:12-17; 7:5-24).

It is “not a mere violation of the law of our constitution, nor of the system of things, but an offense against a personal lawgiver and moral governor who vindicates his law with penalties. The soul that sins is always conscious that his sin is (1.) intrinsically vile and polluting, and (2.) that it justly deserves punishment, and calls down the righteous wrath of God. Hence sin carries with it two inalienable characters, (1.) ill-desert, guilt (reatus); and (2.) pollution (macula).”, Hodge's Outlines.
The moral character of a man's actions is determined by the moral state of his heart. The disposition to sin, or the habit of the soul that leads to the sinful act, is itself also sin (Rom_6:12-17; Gal_5:17; Jas_1:14, Jas_1:15).

1Ki 8:46 If they sin against thee, (for there is no man that sinneth not,) and thou be angry with them, and deliver them to the enemy, so that they carry them away captives unto the land of the enemy, far or near;

“Original sin” is frequently and properly used to denote only the moral corruption of their whole nature inherited by all men from Adam. This inherited moral corruption consists in, (1.) the loss of original righteousness; and (2.) the presence of a constant proneness to evil, which is the root and origin of all actual sin. It is called “sin” (Rom_6:12, Rom_6:14, Rom_6:17; Rom_7:5-17), the “flesh” (Gal_5:17, Gal_5:24), “lust” (Jas_1:14, Jas_1:15), the “body of sin” (Rom_6:6), “ignorance,” “blindness of heart,” “alienation from the life of God” (Eph_4:18, Eph_4:19). It influences and depraves the whole man, and its tendency is still downward to deeper and deeper corruption, there remaining no recuperative element in the soul. It is a total depravity, and it is also universally inherited by all the natural descendants of Adam (Rom_3:10-23; Rom_5:12-21; Rom_8:7). Pelagians deny original sin, and regard man as by nature morally and spiritually well; semi-Pelagians regard him as morally sick; Augustinians, or, as they are also called, Calvinists, regard man as described above, spiritually dead (Eph_2:1; 1Jn_3:14).
The doctrine of original sin is proved, (1.) From the fact of the universal sinfulness of men. “There is no man that sinneth not” (1Ki_8:46; Isa_53:6; Psa_130:3; Rom_3:19, Rom_3:22, Rom_3:23; Gal_3:22). (2.) From the total depravity of man. All men are declared to be destitute of any principle of spiritual life; man's apostasy from God is total and complete (Job_15:14-16; Gen_6:5, Gen_6:6). (3.) From its early manifestation (Psa_58:3; Pro_22:15). (4.) It is proved also from the necessity, absolutely and universally, of regeneration (Joh_3:3; 2Co_5:17). (5.) From the universality of death (Rom_5:12-20).
Various kinds of sin are mentioned, (1.) “Presumptuous sins,” or as literally rendered, “sins with an uplifted hand”, i.e., defiant acts of sin, in contrast with “errors” or “inadvertencies” (Psa_19:13). (2.) “Secret”, i.e., hidden sins (Psa_19:12); sins which escape the notice of the soul. (3.) “Sin against the Holy Ghost” (q.v.), or a “sin unto death” (Mat_12:31, Mat_12:32; 1Jn_5:16), which amounts to a willful rejection of grace.

Please explain to us what SEALED mans in the NT.

It means baptized....when we are baptized, we are sealed with the Holy Spirit.

Unfortunately, the Holy Spirit only stays where He is wanted.
If a believer rejects God, for whatever reason, he is no longer under God's protection and has returned to a life of unbelief.
An unbeliever is NOT SAVED.

Is a person that comes to reject God willfully rejecting His grace?

Also, I'd like to see some verses that state we cannot ever forfeit our salvation...
in light of all the verses that state we can, which I'll be happy to state AGAIN.

And I'd like to know WHY we are EXHORTED in the NT to live Godly lives.

Also, maybe an explanation of Jesus' teachings in Matthew 24/24?
Where Jesus tells us we must DO some things....

There's more...
