What is all this about the Bible being a liar? Let's dial this down, shall we?
Of course it's truth.
Matthew 24:27-31 KJV
27) For as the lightning cometh out of the east, and shineth even unto the west; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.
28) For wheresoever the carcase is, there will the eagles be gathered together.
29) Immediately after the tribulation of those days shall the sun be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken:
30) And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory.
31) And he shall send his angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other.
These things will indeed happen. "All the tribes of the earth" . . . "shall see the Son of Man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory".
Every eye will see Him.
Matthew 24:34 KJV
34) Verily I say unto you, This generation shall not pass, till all these things be fulfilled.
"generation" here can mean: All born at a certain time. All alive at a certain time. All who are born from a certain group.
Matthew 24:21-22 KJV
21) For then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be.
22) And except those days should be shortened, there should no flesh be saved: but for the elect's sake those days shall be shortened.
Jesus promised that humanity would not be allowed to be completely destroy for the sake of the "chosen". Israel was of course the chosen nation from among the rest, so there was the chosen nation, and the gentiles - all the rest.
Having prophesied the preservation of the Jews, Jesus doubles down on that promise,
"this generation shall not pass" until all be fulfilled. The Jews shall not be completely destroyed before Jesus comes to put a stop to the killing.
No, the Bible is not a liar, and Jesus will come to end the great tribulation and rescue His people.
Zechariah 13:7-9 KJV
7) Awake, O sword, against my shepherd, and against the man that is my fellow, saith the LORD of hosts: smite the shepherd, and the sheep shall be scattered: and I will turn mine hand upon the little ones.
8) And it shall come to pass, that in all the land, saith the LORD, two parts therein shall be cut off and die; but the third shall be left therein.
9) And I will bring the third part through the fire, and will refine them as silver is refined, and will try them as gold is tried: they shall call on my name, and I will hear them: I will say, It is my people: and they shall say, The LORD is my God.
Jesus will rescue His remnant of Isreal by His timely return.
Much love!
I read what you had to say, however what is it? It hasn’t happened yet though in your opinion?
Generation is also a period of time: it also noted as 40 years worth of time. I’m 31 now, by the time I hit 40 my generation is pretty much over with. The world I grew up in and learned from seems to be gone in the days of being younger. My brother just hit 41 recently, his generation of what he lived and done from when he was young is now over.
The place where God had been worshiped, and the temple was there with the sacrifices and everything was what Generations of the Old Testament pertaining with all of Israel in which they had to do and deal with God.
Jesus talks about a coming time of desolation and destruction headed towards Israel for one the outside it looked beautiful however inside of the city it was dead to the things of God.
The nation of Israel killed the messiah!
When Pilate saw that he was getting nowhere, but that instead an uproar was starting, he took water and washed his hands in front of the crowd. “I am innocent of this man’s blood,” he said. “It is your responsibility!” All the people answered, “His blood is on us and on our children!”
“saying, ‘Did not we strictly command you not to teach in this name? and lo, ye have filled Jerusalem with your teaching, and ye intend to bring upon us the blood of this man.’ And Peter and the apostles answering, said, ‘To obey God it behoveth, rather than men; and the God of our fathers did raise up Jesus, whom ye slew ( the ones speaking to Peter ), having hanged upon a tree;”
Acts 5:28-30 YLT98
