In scripture; The word of truth must divided between what Christ did for you, and who he is in you. In dividing of scripture, you must divide what Christ did on the cross for you - and what he does in you.

When we know him in an outer form - what he does.. what he gives me and takes care of me, and answers my prayer - does not constitue you knowing him. So dividing what he is to me, and who he is in me, is the theme of Philippians 3.

Philippians 3 is written for those that want to grow up into him. To move on in God and have understanding in the things of Christ as their life. Paul would start out by saying 'I count all things but loss.' That is a good starting place. If you can say that - then moving on in God is possible. Most cannot say it.. because giving up your identity is the hardest thing in this life you can do. That's why it is based on love. You do it because you love the Christ in you more than your own life. The only way to recieve the things of God is the reckoning of your death. His death is your death! When Jesus died you died.

We will make that claim but you see death working in believers. You see those the cross impacted and became a lifestyle. It is not a game of who is better at something. It is a matter of being yielded to the Holy Spirit of truth. He is the only one that can teach the things of God.. so we know. Scripture says fruit.. fruit follows.. you know. When you read Paul.. what do you feel or get? You get that feeling Paul had something and he was oozing that thing about him. What is that? it is Christ. How do we know that.. because Paul told us "if I live it is Christ."
