That's pretty cool!![]()
A friend sent this to me.
I'll be praying in tongues more often I think. That's pretty cool!
I've read about things like this before.
Much love!
You are loved my dear sister . Let us always remember that even stephen , paul and others spoke with tonguesI'll be praying in tongues more often I think.
I had become inhibited by debates on the forum but I am now sparking in life the gift God gave me and keep seeing things about the benefit of using the gift of tongues. You are loved my dear sister . Let us always remember that even stephen , paul and others spoke with tongues
YET i bet they died a whole lot younger than us . Well , LORD WILLING i will be fifty in march . So paul probably was older than i was
when he went HOME .
Did you know i got folks in my family tree that lived to be well over a hundred .
IF any doctor told me i had great genetics and could live to be well into my hundreds , I WOULD ONLY HAVE THIS TO SAY to that doctor .
OH COME LORD JESUS . Ponder on that for a bit . I will happily explain it with joy to you .
Good, then you can pray for the health and wellbeing of those of us who do not have the gift of tongues, lol.I'll be praying in tongues more often I think.
It would be interesting to get your scientific take on this item. But it doesn't suggest that it is more important than prayer. At least I don't think it does. For me praying in tongues works two ways - I either pray in English first and then carry on praying in tongues. And then often this leads into singing in tongues. Or sometimes the tongues first which then seems to lead me into understand when I pray in English things which I may not have thought of before.Interesting... I have a few suspicions.
In my formal education I have been schooled in the methods of science. Scientific studies and theories are... Well, messy. If you are an academic scientist you understand. I am not purposely trying to discredit this study, but I am letting you know how science works.
I looked into this and its questionable that speaking in tongues is the main point over prayer. I couldnt spend alot of time on it as it was on my lunch break. If there is interest, I will look deeper as a scientist and give my perspective.
Overall, I do believe prayer has a positive psychological effect. Proper "unknown tongues" included. So I do find this study interesting.
Those Pentecostals tried...and failed, to get me to speak in tongues back in the '70s. LolGood, then you can pray for the health and wellbeing of those of us who do not have the gift of tongues, lol.
Yes! You know it.Those Pentecostals tried...and failed, to get me to speak in tongues back in the '70s. Lol
It wasn't until the year 2000 that I received the gift. When I did, the Lord made sure I knew it! He is awesome!
Though everyone else seemed to think otherwise, He gave the gift to me when He thought best! When it comes to whether or not everyone is supposed to get tongues, I think scripture's ambiguous.Yes! You know it.
I remember when I was instructed to have the apostolic church pastor where I was attending pray for me to receive an infilling of the Holy Spirit. He prayed as I requested, and I most certainly received an infilling, with spiritual gifts imparted at that time, I believe. But not tongues, even though he tried to then coach me in speaking in tongues. But you never have to guess about the real deal, is what I think.
Much love!
PS . . . @Hidden In Him
Personally I think it's clear in Paul's rhetorical questions, do all speak in tongues, no, not everyone does.Though everyone else seemed to think otherwise, He gave the gift to me when He thought best! When it come to whether or not everyone is supposed to get tongues, I think scripture's ambiguous.
When He gave me tongues and 2 other gifts, I was alone.
I kinda cheat because I have a wealth of knowledge I gained from attending a 5-day healing retreat that had many years of participating in what God was doing and continues to do with this para-church ministry as they minister to all who will come.Personally I think it's clear in Paul's rhetorical questions, do all speak in tongues, no, not everyone does.
I've more come to think of the gifts in terms of just trusting God for the ability to do whatever is in front of me, as I live moment by moment.
One of the best parts of trusting Jesus is not having to put a lot of mental resources into either past or future. Neither exist, I'm not in either one, I'm only here, now, so, be here now with Jesus, and that's a beautiful life.
Much love!
It's at the end of 1 Corinthians 12.I kinda cheat because I have a wealth of knowledge I gained from attending a 5-day healing retreat that had many years of participating in what God was doing and continues to do with this para-church ministry as they minister to all who will come.
Oh yeah, I looked for that passage but couldn't find it. If I do...
I was referring to our earlier conversation regarding the heart. It's at the end of 1 Corinthians 12.
Much love!
I've already forgotten . . . all that 'living in the moment' . . .I was referring to our earlier conversation regarding the heart.
Better than living in the past.I've already forgotten . . . all that 'living in the moment' . . .
Much love!

I've looked over some of this research. They hook people up to those machines that measure brain activity, and what part of the brain.Well I Like it, and believe it could be possible... just not sure how he can establish it scientifically...
I think I'd just stick with, "His word doth good like a medicine" or something.
LoL!!
