I kind of think someone who doesn’t follow the traditions of men if their conscience is bothered is in some pretty good company. ;)

I think it’s a difficult one to separate, I never celebrated all saints day because it’s was never something that I ever heard of when I have been a part of a church. Alternative church celebrations were always viewed as stopping children from celebrating Halloween in the way culture dictated……it was always viewed as an alternative, not linked to all saints day…. Mind you Halloween was never part of the culture in the U.K. ….so as a child it wasn’t mentioned. It’s become more popular over the last 40 years
Different people have different views, but it isn’t as clear cut to say one view is extremism, it kind of goes into a grey area where it crosses over, like Christmas….i always struggled as a new Christian with everything that culture had tagged on to the festive time …..but that’s another subject !!!!
Thanks Rita. I understand different people have different views. And some appear extreme to me. I notice a lot of conspiracy theories posted and commented on in these forums. And my hope is that people don't believe in them unless those ideas have merit. I am schizophrenic and suffer from paranoia. And paranoia is especially the cause of conspiracy ideas. They go hand in hand. So I require proof of what I believe in so that I don't fall into some paranoid delusion.
I stated in another thread on halloween that in order for halloween to be pagan as claimed by many members here, it would have to be used to perpetrate pagan rituals. And the masses wear costumes and collect candy. They don't engage in any pagan rituals other than wearing costumes. So it is a stretch to call it pagan.
I think it's important not to cast judgment on something that is innocent. That is why I think to call halloween pagan is extreme.
One could say Jesus (while on this earth) was an extremist and judgmental. He went around calling people hypocrites, white washed sepulchres and such. He didn't spend most of His time in the temple. He hung out with the rejects. And He overthrew moneychangers' tables. He didn't tolerate false religion, and regularly called people out on it.
As with everything, God looks at the heart.

Sorry to read about your schizophrenia, my sister in law suffers with it and she has a lot of paranoia, sadly meds have never helped regulate her voices. She suffers so badly , I have come to hate the illness x
To me pagan has always meant ‘ worldly ‘ ….so maybe it’s more the definition of the word that creates an issue. I do believe that their are satanic rituals that take place on Halloween, I would call that satanic, but all the other aspects I would class as pagan ( worldly ) I don’t like Halloween, but it’s just something I have never really liked…… but my children and grandchildren celebrate it…..but I don’t buy sweets , bad grandmother !! Lol ( they know my views and expect it )
Yes Jesus kept himself extreme but didn't require it of others. He forgave the whores and sinners and called them to repentance instead of putting them to death as the old testament promoted. He promoted their perfection. Knowing they couldn't achieve it in this lifetime. But still saying it is good to be perfect. And good is the only extreme that is acceptable.
But is it good to call halloween (All Hallows Eve) pagan when many Christians celebrate it.
There are feasts and celebrations that happen at the same time as halloween which are evil religions. Some people try to connect the two. Catholics, as far as I'm aware of, celebrate "All Hallows Eve" as a celebration of past saints. And there is not pagan about it. And that is where halloween got its name. We had some of it last year in the online Catholic Mass.
I understand there are Satan worshipers that celebrate the same day. And atrocities happen in some of their rituals I'm sure. I think it's important to separate and distinguish between the Satanic rituals and All Hallows Eve as there are only 365 days in a year. So Good and Evil will use some of the same days no doubt.

Jesus never told His followers to celebrate a day that is satanic at its roots, nor did He instruct Hos followers to set aside a.day to honor the dead. And He certainly never instructed His followers to wear costumes depicting evil themes,.or costumes at all for that matter. Just because people calling themselves "christian" celebrate it does not make it a christian holiday.
And about "conspiracy theory" ....satanic ritual abuse and MK.Ultra are not theories. They are verifiable by many witnesses as well as court cases and government documents (although they have not told the whole story, bc they want the public to think MK Ultra was done away with).
No ill intended ... I'm just speaking the truth.
What ARE the historical roots of dressing up and giving candy? I seriously never looked into it.
