I can CONSIDER them an unbeliever.
and that is where you and I disagree... I would consider them disobedient not an unbeliever... IF someone is a professed Christian... that title is a one time thing... it occurs at the moment of conversion... I believe it is a supernatural occurrence ( which can either be felt or not felt ).
You are expressing the opinion of someone who sees salvation as an on going event... I do NOT.

Christians never stop sinning so are "living in sin" from the moment of conversion until death regardless.
No, friend, I do not 'live like this' ↓↓↓

"19The acts of the flesh are obvious: sexual immorality, impurity and debauchery; 20idolatry and witchcraft; hatred, discord, jealousy, fits of rage, selfish ambition, dissensions, factions 21and envy; drunkenness, orgies, and the like. I warn you, as I did before, that those who live like this will not inherit the kingdom of God." Galatians 5:19-21
I sin, but I do not 'live like this'. Do you? If you do, you need to listen to Paul when he says, "I warn you" in verse 21. Hopefully, you do not live like that. But what you have to start recognizing and making the distinction between is sinning as a Christian and living in sin as an unbeliever. This difference is not my creation. It comes right from Paul's, Jesus', and John's words. We need to stop placating people with misguided theology who aren't really saved by telling them they are saved as long as they think they are despite the fact they have no change of nature to validate any such experience.

Gosh... I had to look... those darn notifications.... YES you do live like this... we all do... that is what you don't understand. LOL
Then you do not believe the distinction John makes between saved 'sinners' and unsaved 'sinners' in 1 John 3:4-7.

I'm not saying this casually, because I think you actually care and won't blow it off, but read Romans 8:5-8

5Those who live according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh; but those who live according to the Spirit set their minds on the things of the Spirit. 6The mind of the flesh is death, but the mind of the Spirit is life and peace, 7because the mind of the flesh is hostile to God: It does not submit to God’s law, nor can it do so. 8Those controlled by the fleshd cannot please God.

The unsaved sinner has his mind set on the flesh and so he walks in the flesh. The saved 'sinner' has his mind set on the Spirit, because he has the Spirit, and so he walks in the Spirit. That's the difference between the saved and unsaved person. The unsaved person's struggle is with righteousness. The saved person's struggle is with unrighteousness. Each of us has to examine ourselves to see which battle we're engaged in.

Those who do not believe in JESUS CHRIST... and HIS ATONEMENT ( shed blood for our sins )... these are the unsaved sinners.
And their life shows that they do not believe in Jesus Christ and his atonement. That's how we are to consider a person saved or unsaved for the purpose of our own safety and that of the church.

There is no such thing as "backsliding" because that would imply we ( as mere humans through our own actions) somehow achieved a physical state of "sinlessness" to "backslide from"
The term 'backsliding' comes from scripture. And I do not believe it means backslidden from a state of literal sinless perfection.

WE disagree with what an unsaved sinner is... I believe an unsaved sinner is one who does not believe Jesus Christ is God.
A saved sinner is someone who believes Jesus is God.
I don't know of many if any people who boast about being a Christian and outright defend living in SIN.

I would tend to agree with you on this.... those single people excusing LIVING together ( for whatever reason is WRONG )... and that seems to be one area that has gone to the dogs so to speak... I am all for Christian purity... and the pastor of my last church would NOT marry someone who was living together... HE never went as far as to banish anyone from attending church... but he was very clear on this issue.. and he would not marry someone who had previously been married... so there are churches out there that are conducting their duties properly... they are just far and few between...

Now about you bringing that bear poop to our picnic.... LOL

PROVING self-worth by trying to do good and be good is the WRONG motivation...

This contradicts sound doctrine:

"He that loveth father or mother more than me is not worthy of me: and he that loveth son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me." (Matthew 10:37)

"And he that taketh not his cross, and followeth after me, is not worthy of me." (Matthew 10:38)

"So that we ourselves glory in you in the churches of God for your patience and faith in all your persecutions and tribulations that ye endure: Which is a manifest token of the righteous judgment of God, that ye may be counted worthy of the kingdom of God, for which ye also suffer:" (2 Thessalonians 1:4-5)

"Thou hast a few names even in Sardis which have not defiled their garments; and they shall walk with me in white: for they are worthy." (Revelation 3:4)
