What was finished on the cross? The finished part in God is; man's efforts to please God. From the creation of time..man had to please God. Read the Old Testament and see how men had to please God by what they did. Abraham had to please God..Moses.. and David.. and the prophets of old, all had to please God.

That came to an abrupt halt by the cross. God has made it possible for mankind to be reconciled back to himself and there would be no more self works. There was no reconciliation in the Old Testament. Only a covering of sin which had to be covered periodically, yearly, and never a reconciliation of man back to God. They had to use scapegoats, a lamb or a ram, without spot or blemish (sound familiar - God's lamb had no spot or wrinkle - as in a sin nature). Several symbolic gestures of the coming of a savior.

You know why religion doesn't like our gospel! It is written right there; there is nothing to do..it is all finished from the foundation of the world. Noting to do in Paul's gospel maybe some other gospel but not in Paul's gospel. There is no self effort and no works in Paul's gospel for - the pleasing of God. No giving your money, dime on a dollar (man implimented using self effort as a blessing), nothing zilch. Nothing to do to please God. Never will be..and never has been since the cross. You see how important the birthing is now and to understand it. If you don't understand being born again or the birthing you will live like an Old Testament saint. At least you will think you are living a life that is pleasing to God or not pleasing to God most of the time. Those that live under the law, live with the continuation of condemnation all the days of their life..their law life. The law is automatically fixed in an individual it comes through life.. culture.. religion.. teaching in the home. If you remember when you were young your mother or your father would say do not touch that.. it is hot. What is that? That is a law being instituted in you to know if you touch that it is going to be hot and burn you. That is how religion works; it is the law being fixed in you. That is how the law gets fixed in people..the law is not a bad thing..but the law was given to expose sin..not to live by..because there - IS NO LIFE IN THE LAW.

Life is only in the Son:

11 And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son.

12 He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life. - 1 John 5:11-12.

What you do now; you do out of love. Why would someone want to go to third world country.. Afghanistan (being a hot spot now) ..Asia or some far away hard place.. what makes a person do what they do. It is either going to be based on a law mind, or love. Not because you have to do what you do ..but because of love you do what you do. Same with the man/woman right outside your door that may need help...a loved one - relative - family - friends. You do what you do out of love - no longer having to do anything to please God.

That is the other gospel of doing to please God. Do-er relgion! The perverted gospel..the gospel that says you are never complete in him and you must do something to work toward that completion and to please him. The gospel perverted:

which is not another; but there be some that trouble you, and would pervert the gospel of Christ. - Galatians 1:7.

-- The definition of religion is; -- man trying to please God --

We can be so decieved in mind we think we can still please God. The Old Testament consists of four thousand years of man never pleasing God. Don't you think if man could have pleased God they would have done it in the span of four thousand years. We don't think like that, we think different, we think we are different. Do you know what didn't please God in the Old Testament? That disobedient sin nature that was an Adam and now in all Humanity. That was the displeasure of God. He did not hate the sinner he hated the sin. That sin that came from the original sinner that rebellious creation of God known as Lucifer. He is the sinner from the beginning.

Remember God is dealing with the root of all bad..and the root of all good. The two seeds:

15 and I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel. - Genesis 3:15.

First Adam - last Adam:

45 And so it is written, The first man Adam was made a living soul; the last Adam was made a quickening spirit. - 1 Corinthians 15:45.

Well i guess you missed some important Scriptures like: Hebrews chapter 11

And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who approaches Him must believe that He exists and that He rewards those who earnestly seek Him. Hebrews 11:7

Abraham believed God and it was credited to him - Righteousness. This Righteousness was bestowed upon Abraham directly from God through Faith - not of works lest any should boast.

Enoch walked with God and he was not for God took him - WHY ? because God was displeased??? = lol x100

YES, i agree that the only person who PLEASED the Father PERFECTLY by not committing sin is our Lord Jesus Christ.

Correct ..the pleasing of the father is; Christ in you! Not what you do. If there was something you could do - Jesus would not have come into this world..you could have done it on your own. Case in point men love to try to please God. I say keep trying surely you shall master it one day -- surely, if you haven't already. You know what you call those that do..religionist. Having accomplished something in the history of mankind, that no other man was able to accomplish. Quite amazing to say the least. Have you cut the cross out of your bible yet? That is your next step to full blown religion.

We, who are saved all know this.
And since you and i are not sinless apart from our Lord it would be helpful for you to read Chapter Hebrews chapter 11.

Yes not sin-less in soul mind; but in spirit you are;
-complete..completed..completely sin-less because the seed in you now is Christ. That is the sin-less one in us completed in spirit!

''He that is joined to the Lord is one spirit.''

And ye are complete in him, which is the head of all principality and power: - Colossians 2:10.

Born into religion yet lost in sin
Needing a Savior was told would Win
God was calling while life was so fun
His Love so drawing i began to run
Not away to go further astray
But gathering me near i lost all fear
Tears of Joy ran down my face
Now i was in Him and winning the Race
A stumble hear a stumble there
His Love did not falter it remains here
Now i am old longing for Home
Waiting for His Return coming to the Dome
Do not delay Time is running out
Give God the Glory Before the Angels Shout
Hurry, Hurry now get in the Ark
for the day draws near when All will grow Dark.
Run to Him now, make swift your flight,
for when that Day Comes He will be your LIGHT
amen

pleasing God has never been the requirement, faithful is the requirement from Adam until the last man saved. faithful to the Word of God. though Jesus is the atonement the thing is the reality of it is to restore what was lost in the garden. all the sons of man received the life A&E had been left with after they died of the Life God originally gave them. hence any one like Abel or Noah or Abraham who were faithful didn't receive the life as we have, though there were case were some experienced it. but they were going to receive it when Jesus came. that was their expectation in the Lord their God because they couldn't be redeemed or restored until Jesus came for them because even though the Almighty had a relationship with them, they still had only the life they received of Adam and Eve.

i agree in part and 'slightly' disagree in part
disagree with 'because they couldn't be redeemed'
Agree with 'restored until Jesus came for them'

We know that the blood of bulls, goats and other clean animals for sacrifice 'could not make them perfect' - this we know - only the Blood of Jesus.

By FAITH they kept the commandments of the Lord which was a foreshadow of BETTER things when Christ came and shed His Blood for remission of sin.

They were redeemed unto God through FAITH in His Word - they believed in Jesus even though He had not yet come.
In the beginning was the Word and the Word was with God and the Word was God - John 1:1

For what does the Scripture say? “Abraham believed God, and it was credited to him as righteousness.

Did not our Lord Jesus Christ say this about Abraham: ‘I AM THE GOD OF ABRAHAM, THE GOD OF ISAAC, AND THE GOD OF JACOB’? He is not the God of the dead, but of the living.”

Abraham was saved and is Eternally ALIVE..........forever

sure you can go there, but they, meaning Abraham and the rest in the OT, needed Jesus to come for the same reasons as we do. just what do you think Jesus was doing after the body He was in died?

1Pe 3:18 For Christ also hath once suffered for sins, the just for the unjust, that he might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh, but quickened by the Spirit:
1Pe 3:19 By which also he went and preached unto the spirits in prison;

1Pe 4:5 Who shall give account to him that is ready to judge the quick and the dead.
1Pe 4:6 For for this cause was the gospel preached also to them that are dead, that they might be judged according to men in the flesh, but live according to God in the spirit.

Jesus came into the world as men do, and left the world as the least of men do, and went to where men go when they leave the world, to bring that Life He has to them that were faithful.

YES, agree - they were redeemed by FAITH in the Word which saved them and that Faith kept them out of condemnation.
Once our Lord died - His Sacrifice/Blood fulfilled the OT law. He completely covered all sins of those in FAITH in the WORD, who had died before.

We are saved the SAME way - through FAITH in His Word -
For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God,
Now the just shall live by faith; But if anyone draws back, My soul has no pleasure in him.”

The Scriptures, God's word is the Word, who is Jesus our Savior.
And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth

Without the Word becoming flesh - we have no Savior.

a couple of things jump out at me in 1 John 3:8-9

First is the Supernatural Realm beyond this earth and flesh n blood.
This is why the Gospel of John begins with = In the beginning the Word......
the power of God's spoken words - 'My word will not return to me void'
So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it. Isaiah 55:11
like WOW - this not only speaks of His word being performed as in the Creation but also in Judgment
And who does 1 John 3:8-9 speak of first - the devil who sinned from the beginning
and who is able to stop this practice(lifestyle/slavery/control) of sinning???
HALLELUJAH HALLELUJAH HALLELJUAH = Second Half of verse 8 = For this purpose the Son of God.........
what purpose? - to destroy the power of the devil which is DEATH, physical and eternal (the Second Death)

So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.

In the beginning was the Word and the Word was with God and the Word was God.

God sent forth His WORD to destroy what mankind could NEVER do on it's own.

and the Word became flesh and we beheld His GLORY..........Immanuel God with us

So 1 John 3:8- 9 begins at the Supernatural level and continues on this level into vs 9
Whoever has been born of God does not sin.....HOW CAN THIS BE ? This is IMPOSSIBLE!!!!!!
answer: for with God all things are POSSIBLE
WHAT?
Whoever has been born of God does not sin, for His seed remains in him - HALLELUJAH

and he cannot sin, because he has been born of God. - HALLELUJAH

That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.

We are Born of the Eternal Sinless SPIRIT of GOD - We who belong to Christ are Sons of God - Amen
