From the Judgement of God.

Salvation is given only to those who trust entirely on the work of Christ. Trust and Faith in Christ can occur only when one is broken in sin before God. Discipleship and Sanctification here on Earth does not merit eternal life.

Not according to the bible and Jesus the Christ:

Matthew 25:45-46 45“Then He will answer them, ‘Truly I say to you, to the extent that you did not do it to one of the least of these, you did not do it to Me.’ 46“These will go away into eternal punishment, but the righteous into eternal life.

Proverbs 12:7 The wicked are overthrown, and are not: but the house of the righteous shall stand.

Salvation is given to those whom the Father had given to the Son.

How to be saved (born again) and join the family of God!!!

Romans: Chapter 10 verse 9-10-13 GOD SAYS=

That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus,
and shalt believe in your heart that God hath raised him
from the dead, thou shalt be Saved. For with the heart man
believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession
is made unto Salvation. For whosoever shall call upon the
name of the Lord shall be Saved....................

I’d like to ask, to whom do you say or think was Paul telling those things, to the saved or unsaved?

THINK!!! There is no need to tell those already saved how to be saved!!!

Actually, in context it is when viewed in light of the times, circumstances and competing religions present when Paul wrote these things.

Unlike us with our centuries of information and modern communication to draw on, these "Christians' were "brand new", most probably came from pagan religions (with tons of baggage), were facing scorn from contemporaries and there was (in that day) no "history of a Christian organization" for anyone to reference.

This is one of the reasons the Holy Spirit was "metered" because even though the act of salvation may be instantaneous, the understanding of it all takes time and probably some explaining, reinforcement and shoring up under fire.

Exactly the point of the question. For Paul was writing those things to the church in Rome, who are Christians.

This is what is written in the following scriptures:

Romans 1:7 To all who are in Rome, beloved of God, called to be saints:

Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.

Many a Christian here takes what Paul said in Romans 10:9-10 to be something that the Christian must do to be saved.

And I keep asking myself, why?

No Scripture says God has given any individual to the Son before they personally decide to receive Jesus as Savior.

In fact, trying to make Jesus Lord of one's life has nothing to do with eternal salvation.

Try real hard to admit "doing it unto Jesus" does not produce salvation from sin. It only produces temporal safety from destruction.

Can you give Scripture to back up the title and your position?

John 6:40 specifies belief only.

Luke 7:47 shows breakage from sin healed by Jesus' forgiveness leads to worshipful acceptance of Christ.

Did you have a Husband to help you with learning these things, as Apostle Paul stated?

Yes I do. He helped me go to the Scriptures and rethink my former position on salvation.

God is good. I believe the thief on the cross went to Heaven because he believed in Jesus Christ.

That being said, a life of commitment to Christ is the fruit of true belief for those who have days left after their salvation. We shouldn't discourage people from the Scriptures that call for the fruit of obedience.

Matthew 7:21
King James Version

21 Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.

Philippians 2:12
King James Version

12 Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling.

Romans 6:16
King James Version

16 Know ye not, that to whom ye yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants ye are to whom ye obey; whether of sin unto death, or of obedience unto righteousness?

The will of the Father is to believe in Jesus as the Son of God who died and Resurrected. It is the will of the Believer to be a Disciple.

Ask your husband to explain this for you
