Must be a relief to have rain.... :)
Huge relief. It's been cool yesterday and today. I mean I lived in southern California for 10 years and it was super hot. I had an air conditioner part of the time but still hot. So it wasn't too bad here in Washington, it only got into the 100's one day. But I did have dehydration from it and had to see the doctor. Guess I'm getting old.

Well, down there at least in the south of California it's basically almost desert, right? Kind of, Arizona-by-the-Sea...

Inland it is desert, very dry, near the coast it's more like an Oasis. Palm trees and beauty. They have tourist sites there near the coast. We used to go to the beach called La Jolla, here's a picture:

I believe it was taken somewhere near Hobart.

What about SA? The fishing is good there.

And "In South Australia I was born!"

Na I like the bush mate.
There isnt even a tree in SA for some shade.
NSW south coast would be my pick.
So long as I can visit Victoria I will stay here but its looking unlikely

Lofty Ranges has some trees, maybe Mt Gambier also, a lot of SA is salt bush and red dirt, you don't want to be out in the middle of a Summer's day where I came from though about 300km north of Adelaide from the base of the Flinders Ranges, just about every Summer day in high 30s to mid 40s.

Flinders ranges... North of Port Augusta... WoW... Your from the outback... No trees there but i would love to go one day...
I would stalk out the fresh water holes with my monocular in hope of spotting some birds out there... There are heaps that live only around the outback like budgies, cockatiels, different rosellas and other cockatoos like the one in my avatar

Yes..
- State Route 1 (SR I)
I've been up there a few times. I worked in Encinitas and had an aunt that lived in Carlsbad, both off the SR-1. We used to do land surveying for the rich and famous in Rancho Santa Fe. I saw Arnold Schwarzenegger house and Heavens Gate where all those crazy people committed suicide Heaven's Gate (religious group) - Wikipedia.

Back in 1978, as a teenager, I was hitchhiking to California to visit my Aunt Vera, who lived in Anaheim. After 2,000 miles, I was picked up by a large man who had just gotten out of jail for killing someone. He didn't like hippies. He was threatening to kill me.
I managed to get out of his truck, hitch-hiked another 30 miles to Calgary, and then ended my hitch-hiking career.
If I had gone and stayed with my Aunt, I may have ended up being a part of the Anaheim Vineyard. I was, and still am, Jesus people.
I love California!
