Yep, you live in your super grace where you can do as you like and still get to heaven...I choose grace to save me and obediance to let God know I mean business.

My Obedience comes naturally .....Love for God is the Engine that drives Obedience ....I got that “ Love” as a blessing for obeying Gods Command to REST in the Gospel.....The “ Rest” spurred Love....The Love spurred Obedience....My Obedience flows Naturally and effortlessly from a New Heart....I show God that I “ mean business” by Resting in the Finished Work Of The Cross....

And I “ find myself” doing the things that please God......I become more like Jesus all the time as God changes the “ inside of the cup”.....”Being” like Jesus is more pleasing to God than “ Acting” like Jesus, don’t ya think?

God has a long way to go with my Transformation into the Image Of His Son.....but I already have at couple of real good things going on for me—- I am a friend to Sinners and Religious People hate me.....

Well, well, aren't you special.

You are wrongly tooting your own horn. As I said, your obediance does not come naturally, so please stop boasting and taking credit for it.

No brag.....just fact. I am not “ special” at all.....just blessed....

Thanks for proving one of my main points —- “Religionists hate me”......Hateful Religionist like yourself are the Polar Opposites Of Christians.....you are completely clueless about this fact....

Just because you have to “Work” to be Obedient , don’t attack us that know how to partake Of Real Meat ....those of us that
put down the “ Baby Bottle” Of Religion and grew beyond, “ do do this and don’t do that” so God will be impressed with my ability to “show I mean business” .....lol.....

Your “ Business” is nothing but the Business Of Religion —- Religious people are damned....all they can do is “ Ape” the behavior of true Christians— those That outgrew “ Trying to be Saved “ ( like by boasting about their ability to show how Determined they are, so superior to others) and started “ Trusting” to be Saved......Watchman Nee , the famed Gospel Preacher said the difference in those two attitudes was Heaven and Hell....

You appear to be a very angry, hateful person....what’s up with that? You will be in my prayers...

No, it does not, it comes from the spirit, not your nature.

So, don't boast it comes naturally.

You don’t understand.....set aside your “ natural” anger and put on your Thinking cap... do you have one?

Of “COURSE” anything good or pleasing to God does not come from me......it comes from the New Heart , Given to me by the Holy Spirit because I have Faith.....even that “ Faith” was a Gift from God....I take credit for NOTHING....All I ever “did” was give my Sins to Jesus and He, in turn, gave me His Righteousness....All I ever really “ did” was to Cling to the Cross of Jesus .....does this sound like “ boasting” to you? You act as if your Ignorance were a Virtue....

I still “ cling” to that Cross with all of my might.....I know where 100% of the credit goes for my Salvation and anything else that might appear “ good” in my life....how about you? I suspect that you spend most of your time “ preening” over how much you , unlike your inferiors , REALLY MEAN BUSINESS ! Lol, we are all impressed ......

The spirit is responsible for your doing any good that you do so, again, stop taking credit, I mean, ewww.

Romans 8:8-14 GNB
Those who obey their human nature cannot please God. But you do not live as your human nature tells you to; instead, you live as the Spirit tells you to — if, in fact, God's Spirit lives in you.

I’ve been curious about David.....he never “ Repented” until Nathan called him out....he seemed to be getting along just fine until he “ got caught”.....plenty of criminals are “ sorry” when they get caught and see punishment coming there way.....He was plenty remorseful when God killed his child.....did he ever feel any sorrow for the heroic man he murdered .....there is no record of it ....just sayin.....
That is very deep. It would make a good thread.

My answer to your question would be a lengthy one as there many factors involved. But let me try to tell you some of that instead, just to give you a glimpse of it.

The warning was not meant for an specific individual but is for the church in general. In those days, and even today, not all who are called Christians or claim to be Christians and so are considered belonging to the church, are all necessarily legitimate children of God or are truly converted like Paul. If we know that, I see no reason why Paul would not know that. Besides, that fact is right up to his face. For he sees some, of not many, of them who are unstable with regards what they claim to have believed. Then we have the time context wherein, in those times, the gospel is yet to be better understood as preaching about it and knowledge about it is yet in its infancy so to speak.

Those, in my view, may be some of the reasons why not only that Paul gives warnings, but also reminders, and exhortations, but also still preach and continues to preach and explain the gospel more fully or deeply to the church, and not only preach to the world. I also see that as an effort of Paul to somehow make certain, that what those in the church have believed concerning Jesus Christ or the gospel, is the true, correct, spiritual knowledge and understanding that comes from the Father, Jesus Christ, and the Holy Spirit.

Exactly my point, so get over yourself, please.

There was never anything to “ get over” ....you and anybody above the age of five can see now that you were wrong all along...you simply project all of your faults onto me....you can’t admit that you have no idea what is in my heart and that you got WAY Carried Away in your pitiful judgement of me and blew it.....If you are going to be Mr.Holy Spirit Jr. in here, you need to get to know somebody before you “ spout off” to show that you “mean business !”...... ooooooh.....just look at “ You!” Lol....

You make a fool of yourself as you preach to the choir....are you new here? I have plenty of foes in here , but even my worst foes know that I Preach , “Nothing But The Blood” constantly and consistently .....That sure sounds like “ taking credit” doesn't it.....You are the one trying to get credit and you are too blind to see it...... you think you deserve credit because, unlike all of the rest of us Inferiors in here—— YOU MEAN BUSINESS! lol.....you are a walking joke....ewww!

Agree, yet some here say we can produce bad fruit such as living in adultery, and still go to heaven in the end.
The explanation is that even we are to forgive sin "seventy times seven", and God, not until the end "at His appearing."

What do you mean "we are not the judge of what sin is". I say fornication among other things is sin...why am i not to do that?
I explained already:
For this very reason, David (even before salvation had come to Israel ate of the show bread from the temple, the apostles picked and ate grain on the Sabbath, and Paul said, "Nothing is unlawful for me."

Is there anything more fun than watching a man blather on when he doesn’t know what he is talking about and witnessing him hang himself eventually....I mean, ewww ! Even my debating foes don’t accuse me of the accusations that you pull out of your Er.....ah.....hat. Lol......

What I said there is my view about the matter of making the choice of believing or rejecting Jesus Christ. And about my view of a person who face the same choice each day after that. And that could be any one, OSASer or not.
But since you are defending OSAS you were referring to NON OSASers in particular.
What I stand up for is what truth is revealed by God in scriptures.

But that brings up other considerations, because we are not the judge of what is sin, God is. For this very reason, David (even before salvation had come to Israel ate of the show bread from the temple, the apostles picked and ate grain on the Sabbath, and Paul said, "Nothing is unlawful for me."

Thus, the topic actually has two issues:
  1. The true definition of salvation.
  2. The true definition of sin.
Both have been grossly violated and in error.

"All things are lawful for me," but not all things are beneficial. "All things are lawful for me," but I will not be dominated by anything. (1 Corinthians 6:12 NRSVA)

I have highlighted the quotation marks, not all translations include them. These are not Paul's words. It was a common saying among the elite of the day. They were quoting Plato and Paul is quoting the Corinthians who lived in "sin city" as Corinth was known. They were saying immorality was permissible. Paul of course set them straight.

This misunderstanding could be at the root of the OSAS fallacy? It is plainly not true that all things are lawful, and neither should the wickedness of the Corinthian citizens with it's temple prostitutes be conflated with Sabbath keeping which is a different subject altogether.
