Ok, as stated, when it comes to admitting sins and failings, one sometimes has to just laugh at things and move on. But not when it comes to making light of sexual immorality and dismissing it as inconsequential. Our new member who wrote the OP is apparently not clear on what Christian morality regarding fornication is, and that is a serious matter.

@Grailhunter. In Revelation, the Lord spoke to one church as follows:

12 “And to the angel of the church in Pergamos write, ‘These things says He who has the sharp two-edged sword: 13 “I know your works, and where you dwell, where Satan’s throne is. And you hold fast to My name, and did not deny My faith even in the days in which Antipas was My faithful martyr, who was killed among you, where Satan dwells. 14 But I have a few things against you, because you have there those who hold the doctrine of Balaam, who taught Balak to put a stumbling block before the children of Israel, to eat things sacrificed to idols, and to commit sexual immorality. 15 Thus you also have those who hold the doctrine of the Nicolaitans, which thing I hate. 16 Repent, or else I will come to you quickly and will fight against them with the sword of My mouth.

Now, this means that the issue of sexual immorality is a serious subject to the Lord. I hate to put this to you so bluntly, but by your post you are aligning yourself with the enemy. Does Jesus teach hatred towards sex here, or walk in a belief that sex is connected to Satan? Does he teach that sex is evil, or that sexual immorality is? Does he teach that women are the tempters of us good menz and in league with the devil, or is He simply seeking to protect women from sexual exploitation? It's not a craziness to endorse holiness, Grailhunter, and that's what the New Testament writers did consistently.

I'm also not certain you fully understand what Amazed@grace teaches to endorse her so much. I've followed her posts, and she teaches that God is both Male and Female, that Eve was not fully informed about the tree so it may actually be God's fault that she sinned, that God deliberately condemned multitudes to eternal damnation before they were ever created, that salvation is completely irrevocable no matter what sin a person commits... she is very sympathetic to those who say Christianity is a "male dominated religion" because her version of Christianity is very much akin to that of the Nicolaitans whom the Lord was addressing above.

Let me show you another passage:

18 “And to the angel of the church in Thyatira write, ‘These things says the Son of God, who has eyes like a flame of fire, and His feet like fine brass: 19 “I know your works, love, service, faith, and your patience; and as for your works, the last are more than the first. 20 Nevertheless I have a few things against you, because you allow that woman Jezebel, who calls herself a prophetess, to teach and seduce My servants to commit sexual immorality and eat things sacrificed to idols. 21 And I gave her time to repent of her sexual immorality, and she did not repent. 22 Indeed I will cast her into a sickbed, and those who commit adultery with her into great tribulation, unless they repent of their deeds. 23 I will kill her children with death, and all the churches shall know that I am He who searches the minds and hearts. And I will give to each one of you according to your works.

Do you see how seriously the Lord takes sexual sin here? While I think there is room for not laying a huge guilt trip on ourselves if we have failings, not taking the issue itself seriously is a mistake, and a misrepresentation of what true Christianity is and how our Lord Himself views the subject.

I follow biblical guidance:

1 Corinthians 7:9
“But if they cannot contain, let them marry: for it is better to marry than to burn.”

That said there are those that cannot marry for this reason or that, or are away from their partners and such. Judgment is for God to perform and that is why. I've been in these discussions before and some people just can't attract a partner for whatever reason and still cannot contain themselves.

My advice is to direct them to their priests with the issue in their local church for proper guidance according to their faith.

LOL, doubting noticed, OK, well, in my current church the priests are married as directed in the bible. Although I do watch Catholic daily Mass too:)

But they don't have an "Eating Code", most of them look well fed, like the women in the Rubens paintings.
I guess in those days that was considered "sexy".

Today slender is considered sexy, so as far as that goes they are following rules by eating lots and being unsexy. But maybe I am wrong and misunderstand the whole sex thing. :)

If you really do not, then it probably is not. Does not the fact of sin come from our own hearts? God is not just looking at the physical things we do which other people can see. God is looking at our hearts. Are we trying to pull a 'fast one' on God or anyone else or are we really striving always to accomplish God's perfect will? We may have doubts in ourselves, but God has no doubt. He knows. Talk to Him! Listen to Him!

hi amadeus, I think you're right, you should wait on God's perfect timing. What I don't know is if it's really a sin if you do sexual things with boundaries with your boyfriend - if that's really sexual immorality or if it's just another one of the restrictions Christians put without considering other factors and that only having sex with your boyfriend is sexual immorality - that I can understand. Funny that you think I do not know the scriptures backward and forward and from every direction.
The question is do you and I say you, but really I mean most of Christianity, do you know what sexual immorality is?
Really the only sexual immorality the Bible touches on is homosexuality and prostitution.
The topic is like that big ball of twine that Ripley's believe it or not, talks about. The thing is huge and has sat out in the weather for years and it would probably take years to untangle it. So as this topic of sex and Christianity, that it is like oil and water...it does not mix. So many strong feeling about a topic they have barely a clue about....isn't that funny. The love-hate relationship that Christianity has with procreation. I find it funny and sad...after all these years they have not figured it out.

(1 Thessalonians 4:3-8)

Jesus also taught against it with the woman caught in adultery. He said, "Let him who is without sin cast the first stone," which is what I teach as well. But He clearly identified it as sin, and told her after the episode was over, "Go and sin no more."

7 So when they continued asking Him, He raised Himself up and said to them, “He who is without sin among you, let him throw a stone at her first.” 8 And again He stooped down and wrote on the ground. 9 Then those who heard it, being convicted by their conscience, went out one by one, beginning with the oldest even to the last. And Jesus was left alone, and the woman standing in the midst. 10 When Jesus had raised Himself up and saw no one but the woman, He said to her, “Woman, where are those accusers of yours? As I said, the topic brings up a lot emotions and strong beliefs and because of that it will not be resolved.
I have already asked you....do you know what fornication is? I would think not...most Christians do not.
The Bible talks about sexual immorality...but odds are you do not know what that is.
This is the same conversation that goes on and on because they do not understand.
I have been seeing these conversations for years and I have developed a sense of humor about....I will just laugh at ya.

Ok, then we are agreed on four things as being sexual sin now: Homosexuality, prostitution, adultery, and bestiality. But the following passage sees to suggest that even mere sex between unmarried people was considered a sin as well.

In 1 Corinthians 10:7-8, Paul declared:

As it is written, “The people sat down to eat and drink, and rose up to play.” 8 Nor let us commit sexual immorality, as some of them did, and in one day twenty-three thousand fell."

Both of these references are not to adultery but to having sex outside a marriage relationship. The first is to the children of Israel engaging in sexually immoral things during the worship of the golden calf, and the second is to the soldiers among the Israelites engaging in sex with the daughters of Moab in the incident incited by Balaam the false prophet.

It is mentioned briefly in Numbers 25:1-9:

1 Now Israel remained in Acacia Grove, and the people began to commit whoredoms with the women of Moab. 2 They invited the people to the sacrifices of their gods, and the people ate and bowed down to their gods. 3 So Israel was joined to Baal of Peor, and the anger of the Lord was aroused against Israel. 4 Then the Lord said to Moses, “Take all the leaders of the people and hang the offenders before the Lord, out in the sun, that the fierce anger of the Lord may turn away from Israel.” 5 So Moses said to the judges of Israel, “Every one of you kill his men who were joined to Baal of Peor.” 6 And indeed, one of the children of Israel came and presented to his brethren a Midianite woman in the sight of Moses and in the sight of all the congregation of the children of Israel, who were weeping at the door of the tabernacle of meeting. 7 Now when Phinehas the son of Eleazar, the son of Aaron the priest, saw it, he rose from among the congregation and took a javelin in his hand; 8 and he went after the man of Israel into the tent and thrust both of them through, the man of Israel, and the woman through her body. The whoredoms they committed here were spiritual, IMO, for the Israelites began worshipping their gods after sexual relations with them. Do you believe this establishes sex outside of marriage as a sin, or no?
