John 8:41,51
[41] Ye do the deeds of your father. Then said they to him, We be not born of fornication; we have one Father, even God. [51] Verily, verily, I say unto you, If a man keep my saying, he shall never see death.

What are His sayings?

Colossians 3:8-9
[8] But now ye also put off all these; anger, wrath, malice, blasphemy, filthy communication out of your mouth. [9] Lie not one to another, seeing that ye have put off the old man with his deeds;

“...filthy communication out of your mouth.” “lie not one to another...”

3 John 1:10-11
[10] Wherefore, if I come, I will remember his deeds which he doeth, prating against us with malicious words: and not content therewith, neither doth he himself receive the brethren, and forbiddeth them that would, and casteth them out of the church. [11] Beloved, follow not that which is evil, but that which is good. He that doeth good is of God: but he that doeth evil hath not seen God.

Romans 3:31
[31] Do we then make void the law through faith? God forbid: yea, we establish the law.

Proving what IS acceptable unto the Lord...let your communication be that which is good.

Ephesians 5:8-12
[8] For ye were sometimes darkness, but now are ye light in the Lord: walk as children of light: [9] (For the fruit of the Spirit is in all goodness and righteousness and truth; [10] Proving what is acceptable unto the Lord. [11] And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove them . [12] For it is a shame even to speak of those things which are done of them in secret.

“for it is a SHAME even to speak of those things which are done of them in secret.”

Ephesians 5:14-20
[14] Wherefore he saith, Awake thou that sleepest, and arise from the dead, and Christ shall give thee light. [15] See then that ye walk circumspectly, not as fools, but as wise, [16] Redeeming the time, because the days are evil. [17] Wherefore be ye not unwise, but understanding what the will of the Lord is . [18] And be not drunk with wine, wherein is excess; but be filled with the Spirit; [19] Speaking to yourselves in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord; [20] Giving thanks always for all things unto God and the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ;

2 Corinthians 10:8
[8] For though I should boast somewhat more of our authority, which the Lord hath given us for edification, and not for your destruction, I should not be ashamed:

2 Corinthians 10:9-11
[9] That I may not seem as if I would terrify you by letters. [10] For his letters, say they, are weighty and powerful; but his bodily presence is weak, and his speech contemptible. [11] Let such an one think this, that, such as we are in word by letters when we are absent, such will we be also in deed when we are present.

Powerful in deed...not given for destruction (death more abundant) but for edification and the building up of the body (life more abundant).

2 Corinthians 13:10-11
[10] Therefore I write these things being absent, lest being present I should use sharpness, according to the power which the Lord hath given me to edification, and not to destruction. [11] Finally, brethren, farewell. Be perfect, be of good comfort, be of one mind, live in peace; and the God of love and peace shall be with you.

If possible...Live in peace with all men. God said with men it is impossible but with God All things are possible. Prove what IS acceptable unto the Lord. Set a standard up against every cloke of maliciousness. Walk in the light therefore reproving what is done in darkness and in secret. Never does He command to be as the darkness but the opposite. Be sober...and not drunken with much wine. Judge with equity for the meek. Do that which is good and right in good conversation.

Consider John 16:7-8 Nevertheless I tell you the truth; It is expedient for you that I go away: for if I go not away, the Comforter will not come unto you; but if I depart, I will send him unto you. [8] And when he is come, he will reprove the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment:

...when He is come, He will reprove the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment:

To the children of light: Ephesians 5:10-11 Proving what is acceptable unto the Lord. [11] And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove them .

“...but rather reprove them.” Only Light reproves and makes manifest the darkness. More darkness does not reprove or manifest darkness...but light which He said the children of obedience walk therein doing and proving what is acceptable unto the Lord.

Also consider as what IS acceptable: 1 Timothy 6:13-14 I give thee charge in the sight of God, who quickeneth all things, and before Christ Jesus, who before Pontius Pilate witnessed a good confession; [14] That thou keep this commandment without spot, unrebukeable, until the appearing of our Lord Jesus Christ:

Two things to note there that the Son of God modeled for His own: He witnessed a good confession out of the mouth and in deed before Pilate. And the children from above all are ‘to keep’ this commandment of Father and Mother (the commandment of Honour with promise) without spot, unrebukeable...

Ephesians 5:27
[27] That he might present it to himself a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish.

Lastly know whom the children of God, the children of obedience serve: Job 40:7-14 Gird up thy loins now like a man: I will demand of thee, and declare thou unto me. [8] Wilt thou also disannul my judgment? wilt thou condemn me, that thou mayest be righteous? [9] Hast thou an arm like God? or canst thou thunder with a voice like him? [10] Deck thyself now with majesty and excellency; and array thyself with glory and beauty. [11] Cast abroad the rage of thy wrath: and behold every one that is proud, and abase him. [12] Look on every one that is proud, and bring him low; and tread down the wicked in their place. [13] Hide them in the dust together; and bind their faces in secret. [14] Then will I also confess unto thee that thine own right hand can save thee.

“Cast abroad the rage of thy wrath...” Has God done so?

“behold every one that is proud, and abase Him.” has God done so? Philippians 4:12 I know both how to be abased, and I know how to abound: every where and in all things I am instructed both to be full and to be hungry, both to abound and to suffer need.

“Look on every one that is proud, and being him low.” Has God done so?

“...tread down the wicked in their place.” Has God done so? Romans 16:20
[20] And the God of peace shall bruise Satan under your feet shortly. The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you. Amen.

“Thy own right arm can save thee.” Isaiah 63:4-6 For the day of vengeance is in mine heart, and the year of my redeemed is come. [5] And I looked, and there was none to help; and I wondered that there was none to uphold: therefore mine own arm brought salvation unto me; and my fury, it upheld me. [6] And I will tread down the people in mine anger, and make them drunk in my fury, and I will bring down their strength to the earth.

“I will bring down their strength to the earth.” 2 Corinthians 12:7-9 And lest I should be exalted above measure through the abundance of the revelations, there was given to me a thorn in the flesh, the messenger of Satan to buffet me, lest I should be exalted above measure. [8] For this thing I besought the Lord thrice, that it might depart from me. [9] And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.

Have you ever considered Saul ...giving orders and commanding others, lifted up in the sight of men. The epitome of outward strength. The young man Saul ...the coats of those who stoned Stephen laid at Sauls feet. Then Paul who then men later saw outwardly and judged him as weak and contemptible, although Paul said he was powerful in word and in deed as the strength of God Rest upon him and not man’s strength... Lifted up in the sight of God.
