Good to confess and be honest . Now crave no more acceptance from man . Learn to love and embrace
acceptance of GOD by JESUS the CHRIST . I want to remind you of something JESUS once said long ago .
HOW much more will MY FATHER GIVE the HOLY SPIRIT to those who ASK HIM . we have all we need my friend .
Pray to GOD for the heart and desire to only love and serve Him better . when asking for wisdom
or anything always do so from a heart that simply does so for one reason , SO WE CAN SERVE GOD better .
Never for selfish ambitions or gain . JUST to KNOW HIM , TO learn OF HIM , TO better serve HIM

Work out your own Salvation...

Both Paul and James agree... with Jesus

Jam 2:8 If, however, you are fulfilling the royal law according to the Scripture, "YOU SHALL LOVE YOUR NEIGHBOR AS YOURSELF," you are doing well.

Rom 13:8 Owe nothing to anyone except to love one another; for he who loves his neighbor has fulfilled the law.

Mar 12:31 "The second is this, 'YOU SHALL LOVE YOUR NEIGHBOR AS YOURSELF.' There is no other commandment greater than these."

Work it out....

We all, I believe, continue to crave the acceptance of people even long after we have met the Master. God does not want or require that we give them up... only that we put Him first. All alone this is probably not possible. Is this not why we must continue to seek? Without Him we can do nothing!
I’m sorry this post is so long. I’ve read you dislike long post. Don’t feel you have to read all of it. I wish you lived nearby; my husband and I could have a meal with you and your wife. we could talk face to face instead of on a board.

I love ‘God does not want or require that we give them up... only that we put Him first.’

I’ve struggled with what appears to be a fine line between loving your neighbor and brethren, and elevation of self in that love. I think of where Paul told them he had no other likeminded, except for Timothy, to send who would naturally care for their state, for all men had gone after their own lust and not the things of God. That stands out to me that Timothy would naturally care about their state. I love what you said above because there is a fine line (Imo)between growing cold hearted, and naturally caring for the state of others. I love what you said above because if I meditate on that, it seems to be when we peruse our own lust and not the things of God—not putting Him first—that it becomes manifested we can’t do both: peruse our own lust AND naturally care for the state of others. Doesn’t this become evident in if we are seeking our own lust and not the things of God, then what lacks is naturally caring for others state. It’s like oil and water where the two do not blend together: pursuit of our own lust and caring for the state of others. One is dominant.

That strangely gives me comfort because regardless of what I serve, it will become evident if it’s men, or if it’s God. Reminding me of Philippians 3:15 Let us therefore, as many as be perfect, be thus minded: and if in any thing you be otherwise minded, God shall reveal even this unto you.

Point being I do love what you said of God not wanting us to give up caring. Although His caring is for the things of God and not the lust of men. What you said though makes me realize God doesn’t ask us to become cold hearted towards others. But instead wants us to care for others state, for them to have the true riches, not wishing destruction and death upon them. Or that is my opinion…thank you for sharing your thoughts. I love how you are not condemning Amadeus, I never see you condemning towards anyone. But instead you gently help guide, and direct.
Yes, and in my own history I have killed at least a couple of those who would or could be my brothers [not their flesh]. I can look back at my errors as a man of the flesh and also more recently than that. When will it all become clear to us?
Same here. It’s profound to me you have been given the insight to acknowledge “I have killed at least a couple of those who would or could be my brothers [not their flesh]”

Same here …same here. Even my own household, my own children…I have killed(not their flesh).

You and Paul could have a conversation on this. He’d probably mention his brother Stephen. It sounds crazy but When Stephen looks up and sees the heaven part, open, and Jesus Christ standing at the right hand of the Father. I can’t prove it, but I think Stephen saw Saul/Paul circumcision in Christ, before it happened. Stephen seeing that which is yet unseen. As Paul also could see the Corinthians circumcision in Christ, seeing the unseen, although he knew the vail remained over their hearts, where they accused their brothers in Christ as reprobate, Paul spoke to them of trust and faith and Hope of “when you see we are not as those who fail”. Paul saying “I trust you Will see” Same as Stephen may of told Saul…when you see “God does not dwell in temples made with hands” odd, if what Stephen saw just before his death by stoning…was Christ removing satan from the right hand and Christ standing in (the temple) Paul going to the gentiles…it solidifies to me what Stephen was crying out “God does not dwell in temples made with hands!” Not a threat made by Stephen, but a prophecy …if what Stephen saw was the temple which Stephen cited, telling them of …that temple not made without hands; opened and where did Stephen see Christ within? In the sky? Or in that temple made without hands…the only one I can think of is Saul standing near by and Stephen fixing his eyes on Saul. It makes me emotional. Taking it from a fairy tale to …I want to see Christ’s appearance in His Temple too! Heart opened…?

Do those words pierce Saul on the road, I think so. Even Stephen being stoned while calling out to God to help deliver “save” Stephen. Saul nearby consented to Stephens death, having those who stoned Stephen lay their coats at Saul’s feet. That Saul becomes Paul going from persecuting the Faith, to now preaching the way of Faith he once destroyed. Is this not an answer to Stephen’s cries unto God to “deliver me” from the hands of my enemies and those who would swallow me up in death.

Paul(although it is yet unseen) the torch is passed from Stephen to Paul, Christ in Paul (as Stephen prophesied “God does not dwell in temples made with hands, but in temples made without hands), then Paul’s running, “Yet not I, but Christ Lives in me”
I have yet to meet a person completely without selfishness. I have yet to see myself without selfishness but with God's help by His Spirit we may walk along the right pathway. He will direct us if we will allow it.
I don’t see how we can be a hundred percent without selfishness. There are always low days. Which makes me think of to be abased. Consider where Paul said he feared that when he comes to them, God would humble him in their presence and he would wail those who continue to sin(hate their brother?). Yet there are good days, abounding. It reminds me of the proverb. give me enough that I don’t starve and dishonor You by thievery. But don’t overfeed me where I forget You. (Paraphrasing of memory).

Loving your neighbor as yourself, wont get you into heaven.

No, but you can become eligible for INHERITING eternal life. Not loving your neighbour as yourself is a sure way to become disqualified before God from entering into heaven. And by heaven I mean the kingdom of God right now. No one goes to heaven AFTER they die. The next age is a New Earth where God dwells with His creation.
What will?

Jesus said....."you must be born ... .again".
Born of the Spirit to be able to see and enter into Zion, the kingdom realm, and walk as Jesus walked right now. But then one must go back to the place of birth (IF you are truly born from heaven) before the Lord who is also the FINISHER of faith...and pay for the full measure of grace that translates a person into the kingdom walk. Don't be fooled. Righteous is as righteous DOES. It is those who DO righteousness that are both righteous and born of heaven. Read the bible.

entering into heaven…doesn’t one need to love neighbor and brothers for the seed to be planted? If it’s the heart where the seed is sown, then the hard ground as a good soldier of Christ one must endure, are those hearts yet hardened. We are to sow in Hope? It is God which gives the increase? If God doesn’t increase the seed sown, then what was sown? Is it Christ? What is this entering into heaven? This entering in beyond the vail, enduring the hardness of ground?
Born of the Spirit to be able to see and enter into Zion, the kingdom realm,
born of the Spirit are able to see and enter into Zion. Could this be what Paul spoke of in seeing Christ being formed in another? “Able to see” the seed entering into …the kingdom realm.
and walk as Jesus walked right now.
Jesus waked as “although He possessed all things, He became poor that we be made rich. He became weak, that we be made strong.” Paul models this same walk, Christ walking in Paul “we are glad when we are weak, and you be made strong.” What is the kingdom realm? What is Zion that those born of God are able see? That they walk as Christ walks?
pay for the full measure of grace that translates a person into the kingdom walk. Don't be fooled. Righteous is as righteous DOES. It is those who DO righteousness that are both righteous and born of heaven
Righteous is as righteous DOES.
2 Peter 1:4-9 Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these you might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust. [5] And beside this, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue; and to virtue knowledge; [6] And to knowledge temperance; and to temperance patience; and to patience (let patience have its perfect work) godliness; [7] And to godliness brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness charity. [8] For if these things be in you, and abound, they make you that you shall neither be barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. [9] But he that lacks these things is blind, and cannot see afar off, and has forgotten that he was (also) purged from his old sins.

Point is. I’m curious about your theology if it’s in Hope “few are able to see the kingdom of God as I have” …for then that is (Imo)hoping in our own lack of becoming profitable in the Spirit of God, where children are born unto God. Lack of Hope God can remove the stony ground and seed takes root, what does the seed sown mature unto? To me that is hoping a single seed (only one enters the kingdom realm, that one being ourself) and not having Hope in abundance of many will see the kingdom realm(although they don’t yet see or enter in, there is Hope?). Or why does one sow for only one (self) able to enter in?

The Lord grants me patience to read even long posts at times. I have always been a slow reader, but I also have now the time to read those things He expects me to read in spite of length. When I am paying attention to Him will He not let me know what to read and what skim or to skip? It is true that I skip most posts these days. The old man of me is dying but the new man is able through the power of the Holy Spirit to do whatever God desires or requires of me.

What a mighty God we serve!
I love ‘God does not want or require that we give them up... only that we put Him first.’

Until and if we have overcome our individual carnal world [by the Holy Spirit killing the old man] completely, we remain, I believe, a mixture. We still have shadows within which push us to sin. If we have the Holy Spirit within and do not quench, but rather follow that Spirit, we will overcome ways of the flesh which when followed lead us to sin. Consider the promises to overcomers here:

Re 2:7...To him who overcomes I will give to eat from the tree of life, which is in the midst of the Paradise of God.

Re 2:11...He that overcometh shall not be hurt of the second death.

Re 2:17...To him that overcometh will I give to eat of the hidden manna, and will give him a white stone, and in the stone a new name written, which no man knoweth saving he that receiveth it.

Re 2:26And he that overcometh, and keepeth my works unto the end, to him will I give power over the nations:

Re 3:5He that overcometh, the same shall be clothed in white raiment; and I will not blot out his name out of the book of life, but I will confess his name before my Father, and before his angels.

Re 3:12Him that overcometh will I make a pillar in the temple of my God, and he shall go no more out: and I will write upon him the name of my God, and the name of the city of my God, which is new Jerusalem, which cometh down out of heaven from my God: and I will write upon him my new name.

Re 3:21To him that overcometh will I grant to sit with me in my throne, even as I also overcame, and am set down with my Father in his throne.
And then...

Re 3:22He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches.

Perfection, I believe, as God sees it [not man's definition] is possible by and through the Holy Spirit. What is impossible for man is possible for God in us. Are we too often quenching the Holy Spirit and hindering His work within us?

Mr 10:27And Jesus looking upon them saith, With men it is impossible, but not with God: for with God all things are possible.

1th 5:19Quench not the Spirit.
Point being I do love what you said of God not wanting us to give up caring. Although His caring is for the things of God and not the lust of men. 1jo 2:15Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him.

1jo 2:16For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world.
1jo 2:17And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever.
Yes, the world of each of us, the old man, will pass away. When it does... will we have anything left? Only those who have taken hold of that abundant life which Jesus brought and allowed the Holy Spirit to increase it even as the old man was decreased.
Same here. It’s profound to me you have been given the insight to acknowledge “I have killed at least a couple of those who would or could be my brothers [not their flesh]”

Same here …same here. Even my own household, my own children…I have killed(not their flesh).
We cannot kill the new man in a person, but we can certainly discourage [kill] hope in unbelievers or even, I believe, people who are very young in the Lord.

Taking it from a fairy tale to …I want to see Christ’s appearance in His Temple too! Heart opened…?
What did Stephen see when he "looked up steadfastlly to heaven"?
What did Paul see on the road to Damascus or when he recalled holding the clothes of those who stoned Stephen? What did we see when God first opened our eyes to Him as believers?
What are we able to see in our own hearts...?
What are we doing with ourselves?
Are we nourishing the old man more than the new man?

1co 3:16Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you?
1co 3:17If any man defile the temple of God, him shall God destroy; for the temple of God is holy, which temple ye are.

Do those words pierce Saul on the road, I think so. Even Stephen being stoned while calling out to God to help deliver “save” Stephen. Our old man can certainly not be selfless, but what of the new man? I recall here what the brother who won me to the Lord many years ago told me:

"It is hard to live for God easy;
it is easy to live for God hard."

Too often perhaps we have taken, or are taking, the easy way and then wonder why it is so hard!

How completely have we surrendered to the Holy Spirit?

How often are we quenching the Holy Spirit as we follow the ways of some man or church or even our own logic?

I recall here what the brother who won me to the Lord many years ago told me:

"It is hard to live for God easy;
it is easy to live for God hard."
Reminds me of something I use to say a lot. Being a mess with all kinds of phobias and panic attacks it was hard for me to do life. Hiding was easy. Being a recluse was easy. I would cry asking God over and over “why have You made me this way?” I do now see I did it to myself. I built my prison. God is the One who wants to set me free from it.

I fully believed, it’s easier to die, than it is to Live. I saw dying as the easy part, the hard part for me is Living. Now as I’m remembering saying that, maybe I had it backwards. It’s hard to die. Easy to Live. …I don’t know. Sorrow is heavy. Rejoicing in God does lift the heaviness of heart.

I love what your brother said. It is something to consider!

Loving your neighbor as yourself, wont get you into heaven.

What will?

Jesus said....."you must be born ... .again".
But one does not love his neighbor what will be his result? Who is our neighbor?

Lu 10:27And he answering said, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy strength, and with all thy mind; and thy neighbour as thyself.
Lu 10:28And he said unto him, Thou hast answered right: this do, and thou shalt live.
Lu 10:29But he, willing to justify himself, said unto Jesus, And who is my neighbour?
Lu 10:30And Jesus answering said, A certain man went down from Jerusalem to Jericho, and fell among thieves, which stripped him of his raiment, and wounded him, and departed, leaving him half dead.
Lu 10:31And by chance there came down a certain priest that way: and when he saw him, he passed by on the other side.
Lu 10:32And likewise a Levite, when he was at the place, came and looked on him, and passed by on the other side.
Lu 10:33But a certain Samaritan, as he journeyed, came where he was: and when he saw him, he had compassion on him,
Lu 10:34And went to him, and bound up his wounds, pouring in oil and wine, and set him on his own beast, and brought him to an inn, and took care of him.
Lu 10:35And on the morrow when he departed, he took out two pence, and gave them to the host, and said unto him, Take care of him; and whatsoever thou spendest more, when I come again, I will repay thee.
Lu 10:36Which now of these three, thinkest thou, was neighbour unto him that fell among the thieves?
Who is our brother?
Mt 12:48But he answered and said unto him that told him, Who is my mother? and who are my brethren?
Mt 12:49And he stretched forth his hand toward his disciples, and said, Behold my mother and my brethren!
Mt 12:50For whosoever shall do the will of my Father which is in heaven, the same is my brother, and sister, and mother.

1jo 4:20If a man say, I love God, and hateth his brother, he is a liar: for he that loveth not his brother whom he hath seen, how can he love God whom he hath not seen?
1jo 4:21And this commandment have we from him, That he who loveth God love his brother also.

What is the result?

You'll be known as not being a very nice person, and you wont have many friends.

Who is our "neighbor".. that would be anyone.

Who is our Brother or Sister.. .that would be a Born again Christian, as "in the Lord".

No, but you can become eligible for INHERITING eternal life.

Everyone who is breathing already exists for eternity, as your spirit man, never dies.... It just goes to Heaven or Hell. to exit...forever.

But, if the person will do this....then they are delivered from John 3:36...... and become JOINED to the ONE who Himself is Eternal Life, and that is a different LIFE..., as that is Spiritual Union with God.

A.) Jesus said.."all that believe in me.. I GIVE UNTO YOU>... Eternal Life,.... and you shall NEVER go to Hell (Perish)...."

How do you get that?

A.) Jesus said........>"YOU>...MUST...be..........born....again".......and that is not water baptism.

So this BELIEVER becomes a CHRISTian, and they are now "IN Christ"... "one with God"... "seated in heavenly places".

They have : ... "passed from Darkness.......>>TO LIGHT">..

And are become joined to Jesus who is... "The LIGHT of the World".. And this is why the NT teaches that every born again Believer, has become a..

"Child of..........>THE....Light".....

Born of the Spirit to be able to see and enter into Zion,

The believer born again, has entered the KOG.... based on having become joined To God as "ONE with God" and Joined to Christ as "IN Christ".

This is Eternal Life..... this is what it means to have become...."THE Temple of the HOLY Spirit".

Can a person who has received the Holy Spirit follow his own lead instead of God's? If he does, is he no longer as brother in the Lord?

Consider...

Saul was anointed of God through Samuel as King of Israel. He disobeyed God several times and was rejected by God.

David was anointed of God through Samuel as King of Israel. He disobeyed God several times, but he was never rejected by God.

The difference between the two men was what?

David stumbled as badly or worse than Saul, but David always accepted the blame, laying it on no one else and repented before God. Saul, on the other hand, tried to justify himself and never sincerely admitted the blame that was his alone.

When David was still in his unrepented sin, he needed to die to that sin. He needed to be renewed in his faith and obedience toward God. David was always willing to do that. If he had failed one time to truly repent, he would have been as lost as was Saul.

"For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord." Rom 6:23

Can a person be known as a nice person and not have many friends?

Sure.
If they are the type who prefers to be alone.
Many Real Artists are like this, as they prefer to spend their time making their Art, honing their Craft .. vs being around people.

Consider a Concert Violinist or Concert Pianist... As they devoted at least 20 yrs of their life, to practice... vs, living on a Cell phone.. and going to the mall, and having a lot of friends...

Not everyone is a "people person".... and depending on what you want to do with your life... being a people person, will actually prohibit you from the Time you needed to spend, learning to do that Craft, that ART, so that you became the fullness of your dream.

Can a person who has received the Holy Spirit follow his own lead instead of God's?

Generally, what happens, is ... a believer is swept away into one of the 'isms"... a Cult, that seems "Christian"..

Why does this Happen?

Can be many reasons... .Maybe their family are all 'Mormons"... so, why would they have the 1st thought that, this cult.. is anything but True?

Paul shows us that we will become the Victim of a "man made" false Christianity... if we dont do what this verse says to do, with our heart.

Hebrews 13:9.

This verse shows us what to do with our Heart, OR.... what is going to happen if we dont is stated in the verse., and that means one of the man made "doctrines of Devils" (KJV) will capture your mind, and you are finished, other then to exist in the Cult, falsely believing you are giving your life to REAL Christianity.

If he does, is he no longer as brother in the Lord?

We become The Friend of The Lord and a Son/Daughter of God, by FAITH..... when we were "yet sinners"....
So, our Salvation, was not established on our behavior.

"while we were YET SINNERS... Christ died for us"..

God "Justifies the UNGODLY", based on the Blood Atonement.........= Justification by faith...>>"not of works, (behavior) because people would boast that they did it, or they are doing it, or keeping it".... Of themselves., and many do exactly that who have no understanding of The Cross of Christ.

That's Legalism.

Consider...

Saul was anointed of God through Samuel as King of Israel. He disobeyed God several times and was rejected by God.

Saul was not a Christian.
He was a Jew, in the OT, so, what applies to Saul, has nothing to do with being a Born Again Christian.

An example..

Before the Cross..........you had to "forgive to be forgiven".....but after The Cross when our sin is dealt with by Jesus.. then..."we forgive BECAUSE we are forgiven".

See that change?
The CROSS Changed EVERYTHING... and that is why the NT, is not the OT... That is why the Old Covenant, had been replaced by the NEW Testament.. the NEW Covenant that is written in the BLOOD of Jesus.

God can't "Reject" a Born again family member, because you can't stop being born again, and also, there is no justification for God to do it.. once you are born again.

This is why 2 Corin 5:19, says that God does not Charge sin to the born again (Reconciled), and Romans 4:8 says the same..

Here is how to understand....>>"can't lose salvation".

Lets say a person, decided that...... "im not born of my mother any more... I have lost my faith in being her Son or Daughter... I HATE MY MOTHER< i wish she was dead.......I'd like to kill her"..

See that?

That person is still her son or daughter no matter how they behave or Think.
Why?
Its literally because.... You can never stop being born of the one who Birthed you.

So, to be BORN ... again.........Is to be BIRTHED Spiritually by GOD... = to eternally become "one with God, and In Christ'"'.... and they are IN the Born Again Christian.
"Temple of the Holy Spirit"..... "Christ in you, the hope of Glory", ...(Glory is Heaven).
That is a BIRTH... in the Spirit..... and that is not based on, or kept by, how we behave or think, LATER.

Birth's are permanent... always.

You can't stop being.... born.....again... = "IN Christ"...

David was anointed of God through Samuel as King of Israel. He disobeyed God several times, but he was never rejected by God.

Jesus is in the linage of Jesse, and David... so, that is unique.
However, They were never rejected by God, but David was certainly chastened... a few times.

The difference between the two men was what?

Saul was elected by the People.
Saul was "people chosen".
David was elected by the Anointing of God.
David was "God chosen".

David stumbled as badly or worse than Saul, but David always accepted the blame, laying it on no one else and repented before God. Saul, on the other hand, tried to justify himself and never sincerely admitted the blame that was his alone.

Saul was "allowed" to reign... and David was Chosen, by God. ,to be the King.

Not the same situation.

When David was still in his unrepented sin, he needed to die to that sin. He needed to be renewed in his faith and obedience toward God. David was always willing to do that. If he had failed one time to truly repent, he would have been as lost as was Saul.

God said that ....."David is a man after His own heart".
So, David was always "God conscious", and even in the end, He was the same..
David had some "flesh" issues that men often have.......some pride, some lust... some deceit issues.

Saul never had the same relationship to God that David had... and that Solomon, had, as well.

"For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord." Rom 6:23

Yes..

And that Gift of Eternal life, Is Jesus Himself, and that is why He can give it to everyone who believes.... John 10:28

Jesus is Salvation
Jesus is Eternal Life
Jesus is "sin bearer"
Jesus is ""The Resurrection""
Jesus is "the Word made Flesh"
Jesus is John 1:10 and Colossians 1:16

Surrendering to God and being led continuously by His Spirit will bring us through with Him to the end of our course. Not surrendering to Him and quenching His Spirit in us will have bad results.

Saul was elected by the People.
Saul was "people chosen".

1sa 10:1Then Samuel took a vial of oil, and poured it upon his head, and kissed him, and said, Is it not because the LORD hath anointed thee to be captain over his inheritance?
David was elected by the Anointing of God.
David was "God chosen".

Saul was "allowed" to reign... and David was Chosen, by God. ,to be the King.

Not the same situation.
In their beginnings it seems to me to have been the same situation.

Why were the two kings different? Consider the anointing and the promises made to Saul...

1sa 10:1Then Samuel took a vial of oil, and poured it upon his head, and kissed him, and said, Is it not because the LORD hath anointed thee to be captain over his inheritance?

1sa 10:6And the spirit of the LORD will come upon thee, and thou shalt prophesy with them, and shalt be turned into another man.

1sa 10:7And let it be, when these signs are come unto thee, that thou do as occasion serve thee; for God is with thee.

1sa 10:9And it was so, that when he had turned his back to go from Samuel, God gave him another heart: and all those signs came to pass that day.
1sa 10:10And when they came thither to the hill, behold, a company of prophets met him; and the spirit of God came upon him, and he prophesied among them.

But Saul chose a foolish pathway...

1sa 13:13And Samuel said to Saul, Thou hast done foolishly: thou hast not kept the commandment of the LORD thy God, which he commanded thee: for now would the LORD have established thy kingdom upon Israel for ever.
1sa 13:14But now thy kingdom shall not continue: the LORD hath sought him a man after his own heart, and the LORD hath commanded him to be captain over his people, because thou hast not kept that which the LORD commanded thee.

As long as one is Born Again, there is no question, that one will work out their own Salvation, they are a child of the most high....

Sort commentary.

What does Paul mean by the race?
Paul uses the figure of speech of running to describe what the Christian life is all about. He describes the Christian life as like a race. We are in a race, in what God wants us to be, growing into that kind of person God would have us to be.
Hi RJ,

Of the two types of sins: sins unto death and sins NOT unto death, when we are born again of the Spirit Jesus as the Author of our faith takes away all desire out of our nature to commit sins unto death known as lawlessness (1 John 3:4-5). As also the Finisher of our faith Peter shows us what Jesus tackles next in us, the sins not unto death - immature fruit. 2 Peter 1:5-11. Notice when Jesus completely finishers this process we will never stumble, but that takes awhile.

5 But also for this very reason, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue, to virtue knowledge, 6 to knowledge self-control, to self-control perseverance, to perseverance godliness, 7 to godliness brotherly kindness, and to brotherly kindness love. 8 For if these things are yours and abound, you will be neither barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. 9 For he who lacks these things is shortsighted, even to blindness, and has forgotten that he was cleansed from his old sins. 10 Therefore, brethren, be even more diligent to make your call and election sure, for if you do these things you will never stumble; 11 for so an entrance will be supplied to you abundantly into the everlasting kingdom of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

All that is required of us is that we keep abiding in Jesus for both types of sin, 1 John 3:24, and John 15:4.

24 Now he who keeps His commandments abides in Him, and He in him. And by this we know that He abides in us, by the Spirit whom He has given us.

4 Abide in Me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in Me.
