Some can’t go deep, can’t take the pain..

I'm so glad that Jesus took the pain for us, so we can identify with Him and He with us, which makes the pain so much more bearable. The refiner's fire is thus a genuine part of the "easy yoke" and the "light burden" of Christ. It is by faith only. But it is not masochism. He has said that in this world we shall have tribulation and that we are privileged to fellowship with Him through sufferings (Philippians 3:10) that are every bit as involved in consolation and salvation as are comforts (2 Corinthians 1:6).

This is a hard saying. Who can hear it?

True and and regarding suffering -

Here is where the "Bible came from."""..

"ALL scripture.... (Bible)......... is given by inspiration of GOD, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:""""
When Paul wrote that there was no NT.

Seriously, to answer the question where the NT came from you have to dig deep into the writings of the ECF's.

The OT is not in question.

When Paul wrote that there was no NT.

Paul wrote most of the NT Epistles, and NT Church Doctrine.

So, when you want to know the foundation and advanced revelation regarding "church doctrine"....you study Paul's Doctrine, and one specific verse in Hebrews.

Start here :

Romans 3:21-28

Romans 5:1-11

Romans 4:8

2 Corin 5:19

1 Corin 1:23

Galatians 1:8

Colossians 2:11

Hebrews 13:9

Sure, but WHO decided what was NT Scripture and what (a lot) was not, man or God?

Only God can bring them to hear my friend....we can but pray for their ears to be opened, also their heart to truly know the Love Of God,in Jesus Name...Amen!

I couldn't agree more, Sister!

I read posts here that I really want to respond to, but so often it seems I'm barely speaking the same language as some folks. People quote me and respond with answers to questions I haven't even asked.

The big isolator seems to be Christ, Himself. Start a thread about being connected with Jesus or the nuts and bolts of receiving the baptism of the Spirit and you'll see what I mean (assuming, of course, that you don't already see it, which I find doubtful).

You can rummage through many of these threads and literally watch it play out.

The last thing carnal Christians want is to fall on the Rock and be broken. I know—I've been in that boat far too often, a sleeping virgin with no oil in my lamp.

We'd much rather argue over something like whether mouthing "The Sinner's Prayer" is like a magic wand.

Do you understand where the Bible came from?
I think that calling the whole thing "God's Word" is misdirected.

The Bible is inspired by God....God through the Holy Spirit inspired the writers to write what they did. With God nothing is impossible...as Jesus said.

16All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, 17that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work. 2 Timothy 3:6-17

You would do well to educate yourself on this subject. The church lied to us.
Here is a trustworthy source.

I've been born again since 1972. I believe in the inspired Word of God.

Are you a born again Christian? Or just a church attender?

The church lied to us.
Biblical Inerrancy is not a provable claim. IMHO
Even when applied to the original autographs (manuscripts) that no longer exist.
All we have is copies of copies of copies of copies...
Which are littered with textual variants. (scribal errors)

To what SINGLE Bible translation would inerrancy apply?
Would there even be consensus on which one?

Christians need to stop deifying the Bible.

The church lied to us.
Consider the whole process involved to put a Bible in our hands today.

1) Oral traditions
2) Written accounts (usually long after the events occurred)
3) Collected writings (merged into books) Multiple authors
4) The body of original autographs/manuscripts (now all gone)
5) Copies of copies of copies of copies... of manuscripts
6) Oldest "manuscripts" as mere fragments (See oldest known
New Testament manuscript copy/fragment of the Gospel of John)
7) Textual Criticism (choosing which manuscript copies to translate from)
8) Early translation work (subject to religious bias and political factors)
9) The King James Version of 1611 (Bibles finally becoming available to commoners)
10) Modern translation work (using modern technology and the Dead Sea Scrolls)
