That's how it is. That's how it was for me. I began a new life the moment I was born again. Even time is now reckoned according to the day I was born again. It's the division between my old life and my new life.

What was interesting for me in that moment is I felt a burden lift off me. I know it was my carnal nature leaving me, and I felt light as a feather and so full of joy I could hardly contain myself.

Only if YOU are the one whose willpower is acting. But if the Holy Spirit is actually in you, it takes an instant.

Then explain why God has to “ Chastise” His Children? Why are we told to boldly come to the Throne Of Grace when we sin....why do we need Jesus for Our ADVOCATE? Why does James say, “ We ALL STUMBLE!”.....

You feel compelled to live your Lie, because you misunderstand Hebrews 6 and 10, no doubt.....you have to Twist and Contort the entire Bible to allow for your inexcusable ignorance in regard to these verses....google “Andrew Farley Hebrews Six and Ten” or “ Jesus Without Religion” or “ Rene Roland” or “A.W. Tozer”...... there are so many more.....have you ever spent ONE HOUR looking at Teachings that disagree with your “ Stiff Necked” interpretation? Your Erroneous “ take” is so easily dismissed when these verses are taught IN CONTEXT! Give it a whirl.....you might sleep better and stop living a Lie That is so obviously Silly to anybody with a brain.....

I don't really see it. Could you explain it?
I was referring to the way @Ferris Bueller plays with his words. I watch him spin people in circles as he changes what he says, while they respond in sincerity. I've pointed out a couple of these. If you're really interested in that I can point you to the posts.

Could you explain it? Is faith without works not actually dead? Why are warnings to obey God always seen by so many as "judging?" Would you ever quote John 14:15 or James 2:20 in a Bible discussion? Do you really think anyone here believes that we are saved by works? Are these questions worth asking?
:)

I just look at a person's words to see what they believe. Faith that doesn't work is dead, of course we know that. But saving faith is still saving faith even before those works manifest. That's the part that is being spun.

That saving faith isn't in fact saving faith if someone doesn't see the works, but that's not right. That's like saying, I'm not my mother's son until I show her my birth certificate.

John 14:15 KJV
15) If ye love me, keep my commandments.

And these are His commandments, to trust Him, and love others.

James 2:20 KJV
20) But wilt thou know, O vain man, that faith without works is dead?

If you are not trusting Jesus, and if you are not loving others, then perhaps you aren't truly trusting Jesus, and have not been reborn.

I don't have issues with either of these passage, nor any of the others I've seen. It all speaks the same thing to me.

If we are reborn we will be different. If we are not different, perhaps this means we have not been reborn. Or maybe it means we haven't seen the changes yet, or are not recognizing the changes, because they are different than we expected.

I was emotionally and mentally flat for the first week after being reborn. But I believe I had in fact been reborn, and that my rebirth accounted for that. I've come to learn what that signifies, and it's a part of my healing. We aren't all the same.

Much love!

We must repent. Because we must be born again of the Spirit. Many believe in Jesus from the outside, but He is not inside them. If Jesus is in you, your desires to sin will immediately change to desires to KNOW CHRIST INTIMATELY.

If you think “repenting of your sins” saved you , you are as Lost as an Eskimo in the Sahara Desert ....

John is talking about discerning fake believers in the congregation (and their fake doctrines). Every fake believer has a confession of faith! So that 'work' is not the work that identifies the real believer from the fake.

The Confession, as I said, must be sincere.....Only God knows the Heart.....their are many TARES sitting in churches every week .....in the END-TIMES, it will take Angels to separate the True from the Fake...

BB, Jesus takes away our sins unto death. But there is the other type of sin called sins not unto death. We will all commit those until we fully mature in the Lord and His fruit of the Spirit. But we must still do our part and not only ask forgiveness for these trespasses, but FORGIVE OUR BRETHREN. Only then will the blood of Jesus cleanse those sins.

But if you follow the steps for maturing the fruit of the Spirit, then you will NEVER STUMBLE.

2 Peter 1:2-11

2 Grace and peace be multiplied to you in the knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord, 3 as His divine power has given to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of Him who called us by glory and virtue, 4 by which have been given to us exceedingly great and precious promises, that through these you may be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.

5 But also for this very reason, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue, to virtue knowledge, 6 to knowledge self-control, to self-control perseverance, to perseverance godliness, 7 to godliness brotherly kindness, and to brotherly kindness love. 8 For if these things are yours and abound, you will be neither barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. 9 For he who lacks these things is shortsighted, even to blindness, and has forgotten that he was cleansed from his old sins.

10 Therefore, brethren, be even more diligent to make your call and election sure, for if you do these things you will never stumble; 11 for so an entrance will be supplied to you abundantly into the everlasting kingdom of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

BB, stop looking for loophole to sin. Start obeying Christ's command to "Be perfect, as My Father in heaven is perfect." Jesus wants us to not only be sinless, but perfect.

Ultimately, in the end it DOES have to have happened.

"...land that produces thorns and thistles is worthless, and its curse is imminent. In the end it will be burned." Hebrews 6:8

EXACTLY! ...if you let the Holy Spirit hang around.
That's why not being a changed person signifies unbelief. You didn't persevere in the faith for the change to occur or remain.

True......but WHO IS IT that PERSEVERES? “It is He That Believes That Jesus is the Son Of God”

What part?

Salvation is of God, by God, and is by grace.

Yes, but we cannot be righteous on our own. That's not what I'm saying we must do. We must Repent. We mustn't depend on rituals, but on integrity of heart and tell the truth about ourselves. If we are just coming to Christ as a new believer, we must know His word, and then we will see ourselves as sinners. We repent of having carnal desires. Then Jesus will baptize you in the Holy Spirit and nail your carnal nature to the cross. You will then be dead to sin. Romans 6; Romans 8

I see your theological sleight of hand. Hyper Grace deceives people into thinking that trusting in Christ is the only thing a Christian has to be obedient to to be considered a saved person. This is exactly the deceit that James addresses in his letter. Faith that is alone is not saving faith. The faith that justifies all by itself apart from works is the faith that gets expressed in the obedience to love others (Galatians 5:6). Ultimately, if your faith does not do that, you don't have the faith that justifies all by itself apart from works. You just think you do.

Golf time! I will attend to this sincere , but muddled Line of Thinking later......pray for me that I keep my head down when I swing.....it’s been a problem lately ( “ lately” has been 35 years) ....yuk,yuk....

See, the problem is Christians think just having warm fuzzy feelings for someone is what constitutes the obedience of Christian love. That's just not true. John sets us straight about that. So does Paul. Love is something you 'do', not just something you 'feel'. Sometimes love compels you to 'do' nothing, sometimes it compels you to 'do' something. Either way, the obedience of Christian love is expressed in behavior, not just words.

As I said, these things are expressed in words and deeds, but they are not physical things. They are spiritual things.

You can't point at your works and say 'this is love' when someone else can do the same things without love. What your actions do is justify you before men. But the LORD searches the heart.

Think again, Chester......I did not say these things.....GOD did......I am not talking about agreeing or disagreeing.....I am talking about trying to argue about things that should be Christianity 101..... like people trying to dispute obvious verses .....like those that swear up and down that Paul never talked about the Gospel Of 1Cor 15:1-4 being “ HIS” Gospel.....He did it at least Three Times! You may not=like to ear that.....too bad.....and when you argue about it you just show your ignorance and you SHOULD be “ Ashamed” ......God is just saying what should be naturally true....nobody should NOT be ashamed when it’s shown that they are arguing with somebody who is a better student and just happens to know what he is talking about....

I could fill a warehouse with all the things that I am ignorant about when it comes to the Bible.....I am not “ puffed up” ..... I just try to avoid saying things that the
Entire world can see, if I am not sure about them....so hang me from the highest tree.....
Didn't know you were doing sock puppet accounts. Not used to replies from members I've never addressed.

So dont support pope francis , who says if we have good works and love we are saved . Even muslims , even buddists , even hindus
and so forth . Stand against the doctrine of that man and our ever growing prostetant realm who is selling out to this false love stuff .
You are so right brother. They are all uniting together as one. We always need to keep pointing to the biblical Lord Jesus.

You could be right. “ Hyper Grace” could indeed be a Heresy—— It’s actually *SUPER* Hype Grace! And how you Need it....you just don’t realize it.....Someday, when you stand in front of Him and actually SEE what Holiness and Righteousness look like.....you will be very happy that I was correct....hope it’s not too late then for you to get what I”m already aware of....

You have to think past your nose. Put things in motion.
The reality of it is that Hyper Grace is a free pass to all manner of sin and evil....and then they occupy Heaven. That is not the message in the Bible....it would not work....it is not reality.

It has been posed to you before.....Heaven full of evil and evildoers.
So why don't you describe how Heaven is going to be with all that evil and all those evildoers there....What will it be like....Heaven occupied by those that should be in Hell. And then what is Hell for?
What would it be like for God and good people people to spend eternity with all that evil. And how is that represented in the Bible?
Did the Bible get it wrong? Did Christ say that He would go to prepare a place for you so you can be damned to spend all eternity with evil?

The concept of evil goes to Heaven does not work at any level of intelligence or understanding of scripture.

Excuse me BB, this thread is about "Why do you feel it is so hard to be good?"
This thread is not about "No need to be good! Sin all you want you are guaranteed Heaven?"

Start your own thread on that.....move it along.

it seems to me that the reality is people are afraid grace will be stolen if it's free, so they preach buying & selling instead.

@Addy wouldn't you agree?
