"Bishops" politically existed, and ALL had the title: "Pope" until Gregory grabbed the title for himself exclusively, and tossed the rest of 'em under the bus.

Not confusing....the Power of Christ and the Word of God Always IS the CONSTANT of His Church. And the Apostles or servants thereafter....
“WITH” the Power of God “IN” them Teach and Preach the Word of God with Authority revealing Gods Truth.
When a Teacher/ Preacher SPEAKS Gods Word, they listener IS Hearing Jesus!
Catholics have turned the Truth into when their Pope speaks whatever, he is speaking For Jesus.

Authority for any Preacher/Teacher to speak on behalf of Jesus, is to Speak what OT Scriptures said about Him and what Jesus Himself Taught.
Mary was a faithful servant of God, fulfilled her godly subjection to her husband, cared for her children and was not a roaming disciple following Jesus and listening to his daily teachings. Mary’s ROLE was honorable and effected in a very short time span.
Your teaching Mary is a perpetual virgin, sinless, a bodily sitting queen in heaven, intercessor to God, the mother of God and on and on....has zero to do with the Word of God.

The CHURCH of Jesus Christ was NEVER based on Peter, but on the REVELATION TO PETER by the Holy Spirit of who Jesus was. It's the HOLY SPIRIT who leads into truth, and not your phony "Apostolic succession" BS. Your "Pope", then spoke satan's words to Jesus and was REBUKED BY HIM for it.
ANd Salvation is BY FAITH (gifted by God) to individuals who are Convicted of their SIN by the Holy SPirit, and who surrender, and REPENT calling out in FAITH for the SIN OFFERING of Jesus on the cross to be applied to their lives, and who receive the Holy Spirit indwelling them.

In the Garden, we find the knowledge of the Tree of Good and Evil.

Only Mary was born immaculate - sans the sin nature/original sin.
God can do this. I know He can because He created the universe from a tiny dot of mass.
The question in Catholic theology is WHEN did this happen?

It is the teachings of Christ and the Apostles, which include St Paul that I follow. As I said before I do not follow a particular denomination but the Church as described in Acts. I don't need to be clever or know Hebrew or Greek or have a degree Just a heart open to the love of God through Jesus the Son who was revealed to me in my state of blindness by the Holy Spirit who brought me out of darkness into light. This is a fact that all born again true Christians recognise.
And I'm sorry but I've had enough of this now. There are none so blind as those who will not see.

Every church has teachings that are not correct...
Actually, this bothers me too.
(especially for the saints, that were normal humans...
but they were special in some way nonetheless).
If I can, I'll be doing a little bit of study on this.
Nobody said anything about evil. Why do you think that? Mary was just an ordinary young girl born in sin just as we all are but who was singled out by for the honour of becoming mother to his son. Only one person was ever born without sin and that was Jesus. If you know of a scripture that says otherwise I would like you to share it.
The CC does not have Apostles.
They understand Apostles to be the original 12...with Mathias.

I really don't believe Mary was born with the sin nature.
And I'm not Catholic.

Which verse says that Mary was without sin. And sin is not the same as evil. Sin is a human trait, evil is of the devil.

You DO understand that we are all born with the sin nature (evil) and are responsible for such at the time
of the age of reason and are lost if we do not become born again?
