How old were you guys when you got married ?
I thought you were close to my age..never have known how old Kathy is?

But in 5 weeks time we will have been married 47 years. So our wedding day and year are quite close.
I was 19 and Dave 23.

Bless you John...and hugs for Kathy.

I was late to marry being 28 at the time. Kathy was a young 21. [I am now 74 and she is 67.] My youngest brother, born 14 years after me did not marry until he was 38. He also has only been married once but his children are the age of my grandchildren. It does take all kinds, doesn't it?

Another one of those Okies here. Born in Oklahoma and then moved to California where I grew up. I spent 2 years in Wyoming [1985 to 1987] before returning to Oklahoma where I presently live in retirement from secular work with my wife. By the way today is our 46th anniversary. [Only one marriage for each of us.]
Missed ya last night
Happy Anniversary!

My husband passed away 2 years ago........ We were married in 1957.

It was kind of funny , we went to the same high school, hung out at the same
places , after graduating he went to work and then decided to go into the army !
Well, I worked at a dime store part time while going to school and graduated .
And went to work at the same place my husband was at........ He came back from
the army and at work we meet.....

Thank you my friend! There are still a few around. I really do wish there were more, but a lot of the people dying these days are among them while the new adults are more likely to be another way. Let us pray that God will use us to help others to understand this part of the message: One man, one woman for life.

Give God the glory!

A friend or two wouldn't hurt but more than that would be too much to handle/

Born and raised in Michigan, but moved to Louisiana when I was 12. Lived in New Orleans through Junior High and High School, but settled in Lafayette around the age of 28. I've loved it here ever since.

Lafayette is the heart of Cajan country, and the Cajan French have a tradition unlike anywhere in the world. "Let the good times roll" is more than a saying, it's a way of life. Cajan culture is very distinct, with a heavy emphasis on food and music, and festivals going on virtually all year round somewhere. They also know how to cook. Very warm people, as regions go.

The down side is it's hot and humid, but everything has its ups and downs. At least the winters are normally very mild.

According to the following scripture maybe not. It sounds as if we'll know nothing, but we'll have love. :D

1Co 13:8 Charity never faileth: but whether there be prophecies, they shall fail; whether there be tongues, they shall cease; whether there be knowledge, it shall vanish away.
Then what will we speak, English?

Yeah, eat, drink, and be merry.
That's a Biblical concept.

Ecclesiastes 8:15:
So I commend the enjoyment of life, because there is nothing better for a person under the sun than to eat and drink and be glad. Then joy will accompany them in their toil all the days of the life God has given them under the sun.

Maybe our actions will be louder than words.
Wait, maybe not. Regardless the language there must be an interpreter. I present the following examples.

In Rev 6:1 one of the four living ones at the beginning of the tribulation is said to have said "Come." Now did he really say it in English? and yet I hear him.

Rev 6:10 And they (Those under the altar) cried with a loud voice, saying, How long, O Lord, holy and true, dost thou not judge and avenge our blood on them that dwell on the earth? Now, not only did John have to be caught forward in spirit to that future time of the Day of the Lord to observe that scene, he found a way to see, hear, and have it interpreted into English for me to read it.

THEN, just in case someone might interpret it in some special accent or dialect such as using the words Thee, and Thou, God furnished
plenty of those ready to make a buck with their special twist, even to paraphrases at times. o_O

I know some Cajuns. Funny dialects!

Hey you! Trow dat cow over the fence some grass!

Cajuns exaggerate backwards. Went fishin' yestiday... caught 12, maybe 10 maybe 8.

They drink the strongest coffee in the world! Friend worked in Louisiana and they all complained about his weak coffee. Last day on the job he poured the rest of the can into the coffee maker and it just made some glubbing sounds. Looked like tar when it made.

Cajun fellow poured a cup and took a swig then said "bwah (southernernese for boy), dat's de best coffee you done made since you been hyah"!

Love dem Cajuns aka Acadians from Canada originally. Carol LaLamondier (La-la-mon-de-ay) ) was one I worked with. Lots of Herbert's there. Say "A-bear".

They were French settlers to Eastern Canada, Quebec and the state of Maine. British kicked them out supposing they were a hindrance to great Britain's stealing... err acquiring new territories in North America in revolutionary War era and before. They retained elements of speech that were more ancient than other French in Canada since they were pretty much separate from them.

That's nice buddy but I got a feeling that whatever we say, whatever it sounds like, we'll understand it.
And so will everyone else.

For a second there I thought you were pulling my leg, but then Ecclesiastes 8:15 does actually commend it to the children of God, LoL. I suppose if the Devil would just leave us alone we'd be unquestionably the happiest people on earth, since God has indeed richly given us all good things to enjoy (moral ones, anyone).

Thanks for the scripture, Rollo. You always have something up your sleeve. :)
