The dates used in this post are to be understood as approximates.

To start with the conclusion, Jesus was crucified on April 3, 33 AD. This prophecy has a start date and an end date. The start date is in the 20th year of Artaxerxes reign, this is found in the OT Book Nehemiah. The prophecy is divided into 3 sections. The first section consists of 49 years (or 7 sevens). The second section covers a period of 434 years (62 x 7). And the last section is 7 years. So, the total time is 490 years. Begin from March 5, 444 BC (the 20th year of Artaxerxes).

However, the prophecy recorded in Daniel 9, is the Messiah is cut off on the 483rd year (69 x 7). This brings us to March 30, 33 AD. This is the day that Christ entered Jerusalem for the last time and was officially rejected on April 3rd, Good Friday, 33 AD when he was crucified.

This prophecy is so incredible that it is THE number one prophecy that demonstrates the Bible contains supernatural writings. God included this prophecy in the Scriptures for those like Thomas who need proof.

Any legitimate study into this prophecy must conclude that there is no human explanation for it.

I tried to make this as brief as possible to create a hunger to research this further for yourself. It is simply an amazing prophecy.

However, the prophecy recorded in Daniel 9, is the Messiah is cut off on the 483rd year (69 x 7).
Messiah is cut off after, not on, the 483rd year.

Daniel 9
26 And after threescore and two weeks shall Messiah be cut off...

Which places His Crucifixion within the final 7 years, i.e. within the 70th week.

Specifically, in the midst, i.e. middle, of the 70th week.

Daniel 9
27 And he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week: and in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease...
