hey, if you want to treat loans made at interest as money, what can i say?
do you think that restaurant has your health more in mind, or making a profit? with some exceptions, i guess
i put most restaurants right below most drug dealers, lol

I generally agree with regard to restaurants, but the break from the cooking and cleanup is something we come to welcome now and again. Personally, we have no debts, but... as you indicate, we are still in the world with many of it supposed privileges, whether want them or not.

In that sense, I do have a few dollars in my wallet at the moment. So then perhaps a bit of debt, but then...

I would guess that that means also in the midst of an ice storm.

So much for no problems with the ice storm.

My pastor [age 92] who was safely in Hurst, Tx (near Dallas) after attending a meeting in Houston decided to drive on home today without telling anyone on this end. So he drove the 260 some miles alone and on the approach to home he called me concerned about the ice storm. When he got home he had to go into the church building as the wooden steps to enter his mobile home were coated with a sheet of ice. He couldn't get near the door. So out into the cold and wet I went. Roads were clear, thank the Lord, but there was no rock salt left at any store on the five mile drive out to him. I hauled hot water by the bucket from the church until I had melted the ice. Then we sprinkled it heavily with table salt. My pastor insisting on helping me and slipped sitting down hard on the wet icy platform outside his door. Only his dignity was hurt but I could not get him up as it was too slippery for me. He had to scoot on the seat of this pants into the house in freezing wet clothing. Once in the house with some traction I was able to help him to his feet.

I called my wife as left for home and she had a hot dinner waiting for me. This was my comfortable time by the fire.

@BG, yes we still get the winter flu. it can be in the 70's today, and tommorrow or the next day back down in the 30's. that's the only draw back about living down here. hot then cold, then hot again. don't know what to wear, coat or short sleeve shirt. we get a winter blast from up north every now and then, not only do we get the temps, the cold germs come too, (smile), LOL. but sinus is terrible down here.

but the worst cold's are the one's in summer. it hot and one is miserable. I would rather have a winter cold than a summer cold.

Thanks for the update. Interesting. I wondered if with all the sun it built up your immune systems better than ours.

There have been over 47 deaths in Alberta this winter...
And over in England it is very bad...worst deaths for yours...
Because I am who I am...I believe 'certain people' are cooking it all up in test tubes and infecting us!!

The other day there was a story on the news which came, but never got repeated...someone squashed it.

The Canadian Embassy...somewhere south of your boarder...I now forget where, could have been Mexico but don't quote me..
People at the Canadian Embassy started getting sick....most of them were hit. One so sick someone flew them out to a USA hosp.

They found they had some kind of radiation poisoning...The Canadian Embassy called the USA Embassy and asked if any of their people were sick..and they were!!!
Did any of you catch that on your news?

I don't think that all these different flu's year after year...happen by fluke..or just morphing into different ones.

But, like I say...that is just what I believe!! :)

He is! He received the baptism of the Holy Ghost in 1936 at the age of 11 years. He was married for 66 years, but she died 5 years ago and he goes on traveling all over this country as well to others. He drives more than 15,000 miles per year as part of his ministry plus he flies to many other places. His ministry is his life.

They never had any natural children. A couple of people are working to oust him as pastor, but they cannot while he lives. Without his wife he needs a lot of help especially in secular things that she had always handled. He is the only reason I remain where I am attending an church setting regularly. We are his main helpers when he is home. If he doesn't outlive me, my wife and I will move on as the Lord direct when he is gone. The wolves want his position, but he won't let them have it. When he is gone no one will be willing or able to stop them.

[I will add that his father was a full-blooded Chippewa Indian from Canada. Our pastor was born in Ontario. His mother was born in London, England.]

Like Paul " I have kept the faith...I have run a good race, there is laid up for me a crown of life." May God be merciful to him when it is his turn to pass through the veil. I believe in angels...especially at the passing...they are always there to escort. May he have many.

Give God the glory for this man. Unfortunately, it is the home folk that cause him trouble... trying to use his age and frailty against him. People everywhere else are constantly begging him to visit their assemblies. They love him, but there is not enough of him to go around. I have no doubt that God has kept him alive this long in order to accomplish things in some of these many places. But, I know it cannot go on indefinitely. His body is telling on him. How much longer God will sustain him? For it is only because of God that the man still lives.

Our snowblower has broken again...so poor old Dave has been out there 4 times, digging us out...and a few old neighbours too old to dig.

well it's grass cutting time. yard looks bad. grass is overgrowing from this hot weather..... 80's. oh well got to crank up the lawn mower. I guess it's work everywhere, snow and grass.

We have snow coverage, however I think its finally thawing.
If there's one thing the UK cannot do - its prepare for snow. Over here though, we rarely have significant snow fall.

well BG, had to cut the grass today. been in the 60's at night, and one night had to turn on the furnace. but still 80's day, 60's nights. I hope your weather get better. hang there, spring and summer will come. be blessed and stay warm.

So much snow...never had this much since the winter of 1997/8
I don't see snow just yet!! If the thaw comes quickly there will be floods.
If it thaws slowly it will be months before we melt down to grass level

I had my share of snow in Montana, New Hampshire and Illinois. Used to do a lot of hunting in the Rockies...man the driving was treacherous...

I'm now surviving in this Disney World weather.

You have to nearly bare it all...and the heated outdoor pool temp dips down a few degrees to 82 deg. F when a breeze blows over it a 'bit'...you have to get your shoulders down under the water ASAP to ease the shock...I have gotten used to it though and it's not a problem now.

Our snow is just about gone, but it is now snowing and it does not look like we will get much...... But it sure is winter !!!!!

Clear sky, no snow today...hoping it stays gone...but it is only March..I bet we have more to come. But good news is, we now have a new snowblower...YAY!!
....so hours and hours of snow shovelling is behind us for this winter anyway.
My husband is very happy . :)
