I think this is a cool thread.
I don't really watch secular TV shows except older shows, Westerns mostly. I like the Rifleman and Bonanza. Now the Rifleman was touted as, the widower was a Godly man raising a son, and they showed Lucas reading his bible sometimes and they even showed Mark praying, but after that he just keeps killing people, lol. ?? Now Bonanza wasn't touted as anything spiritual (I think) but it did have the elements of it. There was soe scripture thrown around in different episodes and I even saw two episodes which showed miracles by God. One they knew about, one they didn't. An Angel came as a replacement Pastor in their church and helped guide them into the right path for Ben Cartwright to figure out what to do with two twin youngsters who;s parents had been killed. Do the twins go to the mothers family or the fathers family, Oh did I mention that the teo families were fueding families?! So Ben Cartwright lays some Solomon wisdom on them because they cant decide between themselves. Divide thw twins and give one to each family...but the kids started a ruckes and didnt want to be seperated. So the richer lady who already had other kids saw the poor lady with no kids coing over and she gave the one kid to the rich lady so the kids could be together...Then she went back to her husband crying...and that melted the rich lady's heart so she gave Both kids back to the poor lady who had no kids and needed the help! So this ended the feud! And the Angel-Pastor said I think my work here is done and he sat down his bible and then there was a commotion at the church door, and the real new pastor walks in and says I'm sorry I was delayed, I'm the new Pastor...and everyone looks over to the Angel-Pastor, but he is not to be found, just his bible....Cool Episode!
Ina different episode God performed a miracle and the way the story was laid down, there was no other answer that could expain what happened. I forget the circumstances but they chalked it up to good luck.
It's hard for me to watch secular entertainment without injecting God into it as I watch it! Lol. I don't look for it, I just see things and think, well if someone prayed right now then God would certainly do this or that and the show would be over! It's sorta weird.
Or the Action hero is pinned down and doesn't know what to do. He is outnumbered. It is clearly time to pray! And they don't, they kill another 99 men instead, lol.
