*Revenge* is associated with retaliation for personal injuries. But *avenge* is associated with the administration of justice, particularly by God. God says "Vengeance is mine".
A commentary on Romans 3 has been described as being about 'The Cross: the Vindication of God'.

And unless a sinner is convicted and convinced by the Holy Spirit, he will not be saved. So once again, this leads to salvation, beginning with the gift of the Holy Ghost. That is what the outpouring was all about.

Now when they heard this, they were pricked in their heart, and said unto Peter and to the rest of the apostles, Men and brethren, what shall we do?Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. (Acts 2:37,38)
Did He not come to 'purge' our conscience from dead works to serve the living God. Does the Holy Spirit (Fire)not purge His floor? (Matthew 3:12) (Luke 3:17)

(1 Corinthians 8:12) "But when ye sin so against the brethren, and wound their weak conscience, ye sin against Christ."

(Titus 1: 15-16) "Unto the pure all things are pure: but unto them that are defiled and unbelieving is nothing pure; but even their mind and conscience is defiled. They profess that they know God; but in works they deny him, being abominable, and disobedient, and unto to every good work reprobate."

(1 Peter 2:19) "For this is thankworthy, if a man for conscience toward God endure grief, suffering wrongfully."

Would this be that which ‘he hath shed forth’ ? Proverbs 4:18
[18] But the path of the just is as the shining light, that shineth more and more unto the perfect day.

Ephesians 4:13-15
[13] Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ: [14] That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive; [15] But speaking the truth in love, may grow up into him in all things, which is the head, even Christ:

Romans 8:18-19
[18] For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us. [19] For the earnest expectation of the creature waiteth for the manifestation of the sons of God.

Numbers 16:21-22
[21] Separate yourselves from among this congregation, that I may consume them in a moment. [22] And they fell upon their faces, and said, O God, the God of the spirits of all flesh, shall one man sin, and wilt thou be wroth with all the congregation?

the question is concerning Joel and Acts which tells us of a time God would pour out His Spirit on all flesh: Joel 2:28-29 And it shall come to pass afterward, that I will pour out my spirit upon all flesh; and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, your young men shall see visions: [29] And also upon the servants and upon the handmaids in those days will I pour out my spirit.

Acts 2:16-18
[16] But this is that which was spoken by the prophet Joel; [17] And it shall come to pass in the last days, saith God, I will pour out of my Spirit upon all flesh: and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams: [18] And on my servants and on my handmaidens I will pour out in those days of my Spirit; and they shall prophesy:

What Spirit did God pour out on all flesh:
There is a spirit of bondage and fear...Exodus 6:9 And Moses spake so unto the children of Israel: but they hearkened not unto Moses for anguish of spirit, and for cruel bondage.

Or the Spirit of adoption? Romans 8:14-16
[14] For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God. [15] For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father. [16] The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God:

When God poured out His Spirit on all flesh did some receive the spirit of bondage again to fear ...and some the Spirit of Adoption?

2 Timothy 1:7 For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.

Hello @VictoryinJesus,

You ask, 'What spirit did God pour out on all Flesh?'

‘… But this is that which was spoken by the prophet Joel;
And it shall come to pass in the last days, saith God,
I will pour out of My Spirit upon all flesh:
and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy,
and your young men shall see visions,
and your old men shall dream dreams:‘

(Act 2:16-17a)

Of My Spirit’ (Gr, pneuma) - literally: ‘of the spirit [of Me]'.

* This is the fulfillment of the promise made by the Lord Jesus Christ to His disciples in Luke 24:49:-

'And, behold, I send the promise of my Father upon you:
but tarry ye in the city of Jerusalem,
until ye be endued with power from on high.'

* As we see in Acts 2:33:-

'Therefore being by the right hand of God exalted,
and having received of the Father the promise of the Holy Ghost,
He hath shed forth this, which ye now see and hear.'

* So, The Lord Jesus Christ received the promised Holy Spirit from God the Father (Acts 2:33): this took the form of, 'power from on high' (Luke 24:49); which He then shed forth upon those to whom the promise was given; which was evidenced by the manifestation of the spiritual gifts recorded in the verses above.

* The promise was made by God through Joel, it was His Spirit that was being shed forth, received by the risen Lord and poured out.

Praise His Holy Name!

Thank you
In Christ Jesus
Chris

Jesus told His disciples to wait in Jerusalem until the promise spirit comes to them. He was reminding them of what He told them right before He died. In John 14:26 we read, " But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you."

This is the spirit that was sent to them on the day of Pentacost. Notice the job that the Holy spirit. The Holy spirit's job was to remind them of everything that He taught them to do during the 3 and a half year ministry.

This is the same spirit that is suppose to guide the Church today.

In peace

Being guided by the Holy Spirit, unfortunately, is a foreign concept to many Christians. What they are often guided by is a book of denominational rules, or a prayer book service, or what a church leader says, or what they can be bothered to do and so on and so on.

I have just started a fellowship and one of our core values is to be guided by the Holy Spirit. We have had five meetings so far and everyone has been different. We eschew programmes and platforms and give the Holy Spirit the right to make whatever he wants to happen and through whom.
