There are too many church goers that never read their Bibles, just choose liberal teachers to tell them what they want to hear.

It is a shame.

When I used to attend a Sunday church; I went to one where the Pastor would preach right out of the Bible, Verse by verse, with commentary.

There is so much more value in the Bible study groups, in my opinion.

I like through-the-Bible churches and Bible studies too.

Did you ever get around to finish reading that chapter?

24 A wretched man am I! What will rescue me out of this body of death? Grace! 25 I thank God, through Jesus Christ, our Lord. Consequently, then, I myself, with the mind, indeed, am slaving for God's law, yet with the flesh for Sin's law."

Slaving for God's law....

The translation, "slaving for" God's law," is taking it overboard, impaho. The kjv renders it "serve"

In Romans 8:7, we find that if we are spiritually minded, we are at peace with God because we are subject to the law of God in our minds; and cannot be otherwise.

This does not mean that we are bound by the letter.

(The letter requires such things as wearing tzitzit and tallit and tefilin, you would have to become like an orthodox Jew to be saved if you are required to keep the law for salvation. If you are a slave to the law of God then implement those things!

Also, Romans 7:24-25 in no way nullifies Romans 7:6 by any means.)

It does mean that the law of the Lord is written on our hearts and on our minds through His love being shed abroad in our hearts. As we bear the fruit of the Spirit we will not do anything in violation of the law.

Rom 3:21, But now the righteousness of God without the law is manifested, being witnessed by the law and the prophets;

The KJV has an anti Torah bias.

Strong’s 1398:
  1. to be a slave, serve, do service
    1. of a nation in subjection to other nations

Thayer's Greek Lexicon

STRONGS NT 1398: δουλεύω
δουλεύω; future δουλεύσω; 1 aorist ἐδούλευσα; perfect δεδούλευκα; (δοῦλος); Sept. for עָבַד;
1. properly, to be a slave, serve, do service: absolutely,

(CLV) Mt 6:24
"Now not one can be slaving for two lords, for either he will be hating the one and loving the other, or will be upholding one and despising the other. You can not be slaving for God and mammon.

Also, in Romans 7:24-25, the person who serves God's law with the mind is also serving sin with the flesh.

Is this the ideal Christian walk?

Sin through the law brings about all manner of concupiscence (see Romans 7:8 (kjv)):

Rom 7:8, But sin, taking occasion by the commandment, wrought in me all manner of concupiscence. For without the law sin was dead.

The only solution to this is to be delivered from the law (Romans 7:6), to be made dead to the law (Romans 7:4, Galatians 2:19) and to cease from being under it (Romans 6:14).

I use the New King James Version. What do you mean the KJV has an "anti" Torah bias? Slave or servant are basically the same thing. You have a boss or master. So you are either a slave of sin, or a slave of righteousness. Romans 6:16

The woman accused of adultery is a fine example.

I'm curious what made you think it would be okay to speak disrespectfully to me like that?

I'm going to bed.

I don't know what you mean. I didn't mean any disrespect. I'm sorry you took it that way. Good night my friend.

Maybe this will help:

1 John 2
CLV(i) 1 My little children, these things am I writing to you that you may not be sinning. And if anyone should be sinning, we have an Entreater with the Father, Jesus Christ, the Just." 2 And He is the propitiatory shelter concerned with our sins, yet not concerned with ours only, but concerned with the whole world also." 3 And in this we know that we know Him, if we should be keeping His precepts." 4 He who is saying that "I know Himand is not keeping His precepts, is a liar, and the truth of God is not in this one." 5 Yet whoever may be keeping His word, truly in this one the love of God is perfected. " 6 In this we know that we are in Him: he who is saying that he is remaining in Him ought also himself to be walking according as He walks.
Yes, praise God that when we sin, we have an advocate and are not condemned.

Do you believe Jesus is our Advocate for murder without our repentance and turning away from committing murder again? Is murder automatically forgiven as we commit it?

There is no mention of repentance required in 1 John 2:1

If we knowingly commit sin, we should of course, repent. The question here is whether that sin condemns us to hell. We are not saved by not sinning. We are saved by Christ's blood. If we are relying on being sinless for our salvation, we are still under the law and cannot be saved. Relying on anything but Christ to save us is useless. Romans 6:14 says "sin is no longer your master because you no longer live under the requirements of the law. Instead, you live under the freedom of God's grace."
Paul goes on to encourage us to offer ourselves as slaves to righteousness. Obviously, this isn't a done deal the moment we are saved, but an ongoing effort.
And finally, " The wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord." and "dying to once bound us, we have been released from the law so that we serve in a new way of the Spirit, and not in the old way of the written code."

Wouldn't it be nice if that were true...but it's not. The righteous requirements of the eternal laws of God are still necessary, so if we are not under the law of Moses, what law are we under? Grace is not permission to sin.

1 John 3:21-24
21 Beloved, if our heart does not condemn us, we have confidence toward God. 22 And whatever we ask we receive from Him, because we keep His commandments and do those things that are pleasing in His sight. 23 And this is His commandment: that we should believe on the name of His Son Jesus Christ and love one another, as He gave us commandment. 24 Now he who keeps His commandments abides in Him, and He in him. And by this we know that He abides in us, by the Spirit whom He has given us.

Never said it was permission to sin, but you are disagreeing with Paul, not me. We all sin, BTW, especially those who think they don't.
