Want to know how to prove that God exists, or how to convince an atheist of God's existence? This tier list may shed light on the difficulties in doing that, and the tools at your disposal.

What is the best argument for God's existence? Although I haven't yet found any which are without error, some arguments are better, or more convincing, than others. Apologetics can appear dry on the surfacbut they're fascinating upon closer inspection. These arguments often sneak in false premises and tricky debate tactics which many don't catch. Here, though, I've analyzed some of the most popular arguments for God, charted their stats, examined their special abilities, and ranked them accordingly.

The arguments discussed here are, in no particular order:
- The Ontological Argument,
- The Argument from Personal Experience,
- The Kalam Cosmological Argument,
- the Teleological Argument,
- Paschal's Wager, and
- the Moral Argument.
I like them all, but I like Evidential Apologetics the most. Think about it; without the Bible, what would these Arguments you mention achieve?

Romans 1

18 For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness;

19 Because that which may be known of God is manifest in them; for God hath shewed it unto them.

20 For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse.:

21 Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened.

22 Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools,

Paul's argument in Rom 1 is the best argument I have seen for God's existence. Paul tells us that all people have an intuitive knowledge of the existence of God. There is no person that genuinely does not know God exists. They can deny it publicly but all people know that God's existence has been made known to them clearly. We know of his deity and divine power.

Romans 1:19-21

19 since what may be known about God is plain to them, because God has made it plain to them.

20 For since the creation of the world God’s invisible qualities—his eternal power and divine nature—have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that people are without excuse.

21 For although they knew God, they neither glorified him as God nor gave thanks to him, but their thinking became futile and their foolish hearts were darkened. Add to the list of arguments the Intuitive Argument.

Seems to me that the argument for the existence of God is not for Bible believers but for those who discredit the Bible.
Of what good is the Bible when used to address that audience?

The Positive reasons to believe that the Bible is Inspired by God, is the best Apology for the existence of God. Things such as Fulfilled Prophecy, etc. We all start life as Atheists, so Evidential Apologetics are for everybody; a double edged Sword...

I'll Post one of my favorite Gospel Tracts...

Jeconiah ~ by ReverendRV * June 6

Matthew 1:1 KJV; The book of the generation of Jesus Christ, the son of David, the son of Abraham.

In the Bible there are two genealogies of Jesus; one in Matthew chapter 1 and another in Luke chapter 3. Since I can't draw a diagram here, let’s say the genealogy in Matthew is one column and the genealogy in Luke is another column. For the purpose of making this plain, let’s start both columns at the top with King David and move down to Jesus; though Luke’s is reversed and ends with Adam. The genealogy in Matthew is of Joseph the husband of Mary; and the genealogy in Luke is that of Mary the mother of Jesus…

Solomon, the son of King David is in Joseph’s line and this is the royal line of the kings of Israel; so Joseph would have been an heir to the throne of Israel if the line of Kings had not been interrupted. Nathan, the son of King David, is in the line of Mary. This line was not the royal line; but Mary’s line is also the bloodline of David. ~ Long story short, King Solomon’s line was cursed by God because of the wicked King Jeconiah. God said that none of Jeconiah’s bloodline could ever be King; all of this can be studied. If Joseph was related to Jeconiah by blood, he could not be a King. But Jesus was a Son of David through Mary, and because his mother Married Joseph (who was supposed his father), Jesus was adopted into the royal line of Solomon; thus bypassing the curse of Jeconiah...

The Moral of the Story is that since God ended the royal heritage of Jeconiah by cursing that bloodline, it’s a Miracle there is even a Christ in the first place. God made it entirely impossible for anyone else to be the Christ except Jesus! When someone tells you that they’re the Messiah today (as Louis Farrakhan, Reverend Moon or David Koresh claimed to be), we can tell them with full confidence that, "No, you are not. God cursed the line of the Jeconiah thousands of years ago." By God cursing the royal bloodline, it’s as if God put his personal stamp of approval on Jesus, because it is impossible for anyone else to have been the Christ; the King of the Jews. ~ There are many reasons to believe…

Only God can get around his own curse and still accomplish his Will! This is proof that there is a God! The Bible says Jesus is the beloved Son of God, and that we must hear him. Jesus said that if we have Lusted for someone, we have committed Adultery with them in our Heart. He also said that if we have hated someone, we have murdered them in our heart; do you hear him? These were only two of the Commandments, so you can see how they so easily condemn us of Sin. Sinners will be cast into the Lake of Fire as punishment, but we don’t have to go there! Jesus said he is the way, the truth and the life; and that no one goes to God his Father but through him. Trust in the Resurrected LORD Jesus as your Savior and you will be cleansed from your Sins. Repent and Confess Jesus Christ as Lord. Find a Bible believing Church which will help you be his disciple…

Matthew 27:11 NASB; Now Jesus stood before the governor, and the governor questioned Him, saying, "Are You the King of the Jews?" And Jesus said to him, "It is as you say."

I'd have to go with Personal Experience for my best argument for the existance of God. Once God speaks to you audibly, there isnt any denying anything any more, lol!

It's werid though because I (used to) think that it is hard so know for sure about God, but after I got to know Him a wee bit...now I can't even step outside my front door without being able to see His fingerprints everywhere! Yep, people have no excuse, they just don't know what they don't know.

Creation, I would say, is the best argument for God’s existence—the great I AM, Creator of Heaven and the Earth.

Isaiah 45:18 (NKJV) For thus says the LORD, Who created the heavens, Who is God, Who formed the earth and made it, Who has established it, Who did not create it in vain, Who formed it to be inhabited: “I [am] the LORD, and [there is] no other.

Intuition is something short of knowledge. See epistemology.
Intuition is simply knowing something without the need for reasoning, it is an innate truth known without conscience effort. It is the highest form of knowledge, since it can't be defeated by argumentation.

For example, an atheist wanted to argue with me about whether God was real, or was God more like the Tooth Fairy. I told him that he was not an atheist and that there is not a genuine atheist because we know that he intuitively knows that God is real. This knowledge is beyond argumentation, unless you want to introduce irrationality into the discussion.

I would definitely disagree with this. The knowledge of God's existence is innate to all people. We start with the knowledge of God, and we end with the knowledge of God. Hence, we are without excuse. The one who denies the existence of God is a fool.

I agree.
Most any source can be argued against. But personal testimony is strong evidence.

Where as you set up straw dog arguments and claim patently that they are all useless and worthless....
That's not exactly true.

Intelligent design is a good argument....otherwise a tornado hitting a Home Depot and Lowes would spit out a few houses for a subdivision.

But it goes even further than that.

Judaism, the longest held religion is still currently practiced. Due in part to the Scriptures you sometimes like to discount. They are NEVER going away....ever.
The Bible is a perfect book....no other set of writings in the world can claim that.
Even Islam's Koran cannot claim that. And it's not as old. It's oldest parts are only 60AD and younger.
Zoarastrianism may have influenced Islam and Judaism (and its Christian sect) but it has died as well. Nobody today really even knows its writings.

Even today, Israel is the center of penmanship. Those East write right to left and those west write right to left. (Russian is immigrants with language brought from more western influences)

Christianity after the decline of Judaism has also been a historical locus.
There is no prophecy of future events like scriptures contain with 100% accuracy. Or of recorded history with the same accuracy.

Where you can claim the scriptures are forgeries written after the fact....we cannot get two people anywhere to agree on anything much less a writing assignment. But scriptures agree with themselves perfectly. Authors who write novels know that this is a major problem with their writings....plot holes, broken story arcs, and uncharacteristic characters exist regularly in writing throughout history. (Including Homer's Illead.).

Anyone who does not believe in God is a moronic fool.
Prove me wrong!

This is really not worth arguing about; the Word Atheist exists in the Bible. Yes, All Suppress the Truth in Unrighteousness; but Atheism is still a real Category. By my saying Atheism exists. it's not an admission that nobody Suppresses the Truth. Your disagreement is too nit picky...

April Fools! ~ by ReverendRV * January 17

Ephesians 2:12 NKJV; that at that time you were without Christ, being aliens from the commonwealth of Israel and strangers from the covenants of promise, having no hope and without God in the world.

Sometimes the Bible only uses a word once throughout its whole contents, but often the word says a mouthful. Our Bibles translate this one Greek word by using two english words; ‘without God’. The original Greek word is ‘atheos’; it’s where the word Atheist is from. It means “without God, knowing and worshipping no God; denying the gods; godless, ungodly; abandoned by the gods.”The Theologian John Gill tells us; “The word signifies ‘Atheist’: some who were Gentiles in ‘theory’, as well as in practice; and they were by the Jews reckoned no other than ‘Atheists’; it is a common saying with them that ‘He who dwells outside the land of Israel is like (atheos) one who has no God”. We see that the first Commandment is true; ‘Thou shalt have no gods before Me’. If you worship a god other than the God of the Bible; you are essentially an Atheist…

The fool says in his heart there is no God. The reason this is foolishness is because even the novice knows that he isn’t ‘a know it all’; no one is Omniscient. But you ask, “Wouldn’t this also be true of the Christian, and their belief is foolishness too?” ~ This is why a Christian must live by Faith; but Faith must never be said to be the epitome of Foolishness. Jesus said, “whoever says to his brother, ‘Raca!’ shall be in danger of the courts. But whoever says, ‘You fool!’ shall be in danger of hell fire.” Raca means ‘empty, void, i.e. a senseless, empty headed man’; it was used in the time of Christ as a reproach, calling a religious Jew an Atheist. Calling a Jew an Atheist was like spitting on him and was reason enough to be sued in court. But Jesus says that calling a person a Fool is even worse! ~ The reason Christianity isn’t foolishness is because it isn’t ‘empty, void or senseless’. Science, Philosophy and Theology tell us that there must be a ‘first cause’; thus our premise isn’t devoid of any sense. Philosophy and Theology tell us ‘I think therefore I am’; Creation follows the intelligent design of the ‘Cogito ergo Sum’. Theology tells us that the intelligent, eternal first cause is the great “I AM”. How amazing is it that the essence of Cogito Ergo Sum is found expressed as early as the days of Israel’s enslavement in Pharaoh’s Egypt?

If you still feel that Christianity is foolishness after this, you are in danger of Hell fire. Calling the Jew Godless was enough to subpoena you to court for it; God has his Judge ready too! He has said that you shall have no other god before him; even if it is the vacant image of ‘there is no God’. If God judged you by this, would you be innocent or guilty? If there is a God, of course you would be guilty! Does this bother you since you can’t Omnisciently ‘know’ there is no God?? You do not need to go to God’s eternal prison because in God’s legal system, Jesus Christ paid the fine! Jesus was born of a virgin, lived a Sinless life and earned his way to Heaven; something we cannot do because we we’re not born of a virgin. Jesus paid our fine with his life’s blood by dying on a Cross; and paved the way to Heaven by rising from the dead; giving Life to all God his Father has given him. ~ How can you have a Savior if there is no God; Jesus is God’s Son! Believe in God by putting your Faith in Jesus; and you will be saved. Repent of your Sins and find a Bible believing Church who will disciple you, showing you more reasons to believe there is a God…

Exodus 3:14 NKJV; And God said to Moses, “I AM WHO I AM.” And He said, “Thus you shall say to the children of Israel, ‘I AM has sent me to you.’”

Oh....forgot Evolution....somewhat. I touched it but didn't completely denounce it.

We, as a planet with flora and fauna....are not evolving. We are devolving. (As is consistent with physical laws)

We do not have the same number of plants and animals as this planet once had.

Silphium (a plant) is now extinct. Same with Wooly Mammoth. Same with Dodo Birds. We almost lost the American Bison. Lots of others are also gone.

If we were evolving we would have lots of new creatures stemming from existing lines with sentience....but we don't. We are losing them rather rapidly. The Roman Empire, in its thirst for silver, destroyed the environments of both Spain and Britain. Forever lost...

Chernobyl did not improve the environment in Russia....it destroyed it too and everything there is still toxic for miles around. Same thing with ocean dumping grounds for garbage and toxic waste.

Just saying....our thirst for rare earth metals and refined lithium are doing the same things. Just not to America itself.

CREATION = when the FACTS are not obfuscated from false/biased science.

Exhibit A - the worldwide fossil record

Exhibit B - If everything came into being thru evolution at what point can a human be formed without a heart.

Exhibit C- Based on exhibit B , what organs were formed first and how did they function without the other organs as well as the protective body and skeletal support.

Exhibit D - Irrevocable Scientific Evidence is in Exhibit A. Yet there is ZERO scientific evidence for evolution as detailed in Exhibit C

Conclusion - Scientific Evidence EXISTS in Exhibits A and D, whereas there cannot be found any supporting scientific evidence for B & C
