John's baptism was a baptism of REPENTANCE only still the OLD TESTAMENT. It simply meant a "Change of direction" the WERE "Fishermen", and they stopped being that, and followed Jesus. They weren't "Born Again" - nobody was yet.
They were "Made disciples" by following Jesus. The baptism was their repentance from their old vocation.
Not an issue - Mat 28:19 is NEW TESTAMENT. AFTER one is Born Again of the Spirit, one is baptized BY IMMERSION (which is what "Baptize means) as an outward testimony of what has already happened internally.
