I grew up learning on one in school, but I make too many typing mistakes, and I would be out of that liquid white stuff in no time. I did buy a bunch of writing paper and pens and tons of paper, I am so fine with just that. I needed to back up the erasers since my mistakes are not confined to computer or type writing, its just me haha.

Now theres an idea, a kindle, because I can just download a bible to it and dont need to remain online or have access to online to use it huh? I never had one, I do not know how those works, thank you Duckielady, I will look into that.

I have taken your last one too, in fact I just got in one of the last of the mp3 players today. Been trying to diversify, but there is alot I am unfamilar with so I feel alot of my questions are stupid, but I just never had a smart phone, or a kindle, or an mp3 player and know very little about all the typical tech junk out there to be able to do some of the things I might just want to at this point, given the alternative.

Thanks DuckieLady
You're welcome! Yes, you just need wifi to download at first but once it's downloaded you don't have to be connected.

The Bible can be a little difficult to use unless you buy them by the chapters individually. Only because it's hard to navigate and it's a little slow. Regular books are good.

There used to be a free website for Christian music but it looks like it's down.

Free Christian Praise & Worship Music Downloads - SDG MUSIC MINISTRY is one.

Spotify will allow you to download some stuff, as long as you have a premium. Not all of it though.

No, its just a funny thing to me, because our generation (which includes yours) never grew up doing daily selfies and letting the world know what and when we eat, when we are on the toilet, and what we read while on it (lol) you know what I mean.
Yes, lol ...and honestly, the little post I made about what I was doing at that very moment seemed very self centered and impersonal. lol
It's not extremely interesting to post what I'm eating ...lol ....but it's "what I was doing" at that moment... I mean, besides ice packs and red light therapy. Lol

:Laughingoutloud: Hey now ! If you have a VCR :tonguewink: in can fix that , electronics repair for many decades was my forte .

I do have one, in fact I have one of those recorders where it takes the camcorder footage and converts it to VHS and one to CD I believe, still new in the box. Can you fix vintage stereo receivers and double cassette tapes and CD players and all? I'd hire ya if your not retired.
I will read so many reviews and then buy nothing , LOL .

I do that, by the time I read through the horror stories, I'm thinking to myself, "are ya really sure you want to risk ALL of that"? clfh Nah, and I quickly change my mind. I love the bad review section.
My Patriot Supply has one with a solar panel but it is $$ . Grid Doctor 300 Solar Generator System w/ FREE 100W Solar Panel - My Patriot Supply CPAP powered for 8 hours in review .
Thanks I forgot about them and they are USA made too (or at least I think, as I can recall)

I think that is more up my alley. Thank you for that, I will start with that.

I hated the thought of you buying a bunch of laptop batteries and then your laptop dies and there you are with piles of batteries with no recourse .
And what did you do? Give me a product that does not allow you to change its own battery out?

Thanks for the favor talons clfh

Just busting on ya. You were just trying to reduce my computer battery waste footprint down to an entire bank (and save the world from me).

What a guy! haha

Thank you! Hey, with the wifi, it does not come with wifi? Or can I hook up my computer and through that using wifi for downloads and then move those downloads to the kindle?

I always see people complaining about kindle books and they all sound really made over at Amazon so I was kind of warry of them because I dont know what they are experiencing.

You should be able to connect it to your regular wifi at home. Or if you don't have that option you could maybe tether or use public wifi if you're brave.

But it does let you connect. The old kindles weren't great but the newer ones are nice. Also the older ones are kind of bricked. You can download the software to get them to work but don't expect it to last.

I also have a Kindle Fire and I don't really use it for much more than the kids play games, magazines once in a blue moon, but it's not great for web searching. The apps for productivity aren't anything special, unless you painstakingly enable Google Play. Too many packages to download.

I think the newer Kindle readers are worth it.

I've been watching the firemen go around and around and around. Lol I think they're patrolling for New Years, which is nice, but the flashing lights are triggering my vertigo and now I need to close the curtains and lay down.

Last night your post made me hungry, so I was a little interested clfh

(And in case anyone wondering, my sick self ate Japanese hibachi shrimp and scallops) haha

Hubby picked it up for me on the way home from work.

I had managed to cough a few times for him on the phone and without even having to ask, he says, no cooking tonight, I'll bring something home what would you like? And I said, "something loaded with MSG sounded wonderful."

I wish I could upload a photo (but not really though) because they truly skimped on the shrimp, I counted 4 shrimp in there. And the scallops in the picture on the menu looked like walnuts but in the styrofoam container they look like pearled sugar. That should be false advertising, I should have made something, I have only regrets at the moment.

Thank you! I hope you feel better, I had vertigo once and never forgot what that felt like, I only imaged it as feeling slightly dizzy but it was not at all. It was like my brain was detached from the sidewalls of my head and spinning on a single pole. A way to balance myself was not even possible. I always loved a good roller coaster ride but that wasnt a fun feeling at all. Now I know what dizzy is and what vertigo is, I couldnt tell the difference before I had vertigo. So I gained discernment.

Thanks for all your advice, very much appreciate it DuckieLady, I hope you feel much better, God bless

This guy has far too much time on his hands clfh

That is pretty cool though. Hey, when he teaches him to make it through the whole song come back with the full version (not the trailer) haha
Actually Michael the cat is very famous on YouTube. The piano was something new his owner thought up.

This is based on the comedy movie Mouse Hunt.

Debp I couldnt sit through too many of these, I am just not as infatuated with the world of cats.

I might prefer dogs, and although I have never lived without a dog in my life I sure as heck could not watch videos of them every day.

I might bend a little more toward what is naturally adorable over anything that is manufactured to be that (if you know what I mean).

The cat is cute, the eyes on him/her are really neat too.

Is the gym even open at 3:49 in the morning?

Some of them are open an hour from the time she stated she might consider going. I know my husband's gym opens at 5 am Monday thru Friday. I think because alot of people like to get their time in at the gym before going to work so it needs to be early enough before normal morning working hours.

My son and I put together our sideboard buffet. I wasn't a fan of having everything on the counters and the hutch.. It was a lot of work and now I have a full day ahead so I don't think my timing was great. Lol

Will hang up the art at some point when I get around to it.

At least it's done and we won't have to wrestle 7,283 things to make a cup of coffee anymore.

Have just watch the Darts world championship - a 17 year Old ( Luke Littler )british lad has won. I haven’t watched darts matches for years, but this young lad has been amazing.
My ex husband was in a darts team when we first started dating back in the 70’s so it was part of ,y life for awhile.
Is darts popular in Australia and America ?
I am still coughing, but much better than I was , how about you @Verily are you feeling any better ?
Has your vertigo gone away @DuckieLady ?

Yes, thank you. I took some dramamine and smelled frankincense. I don't know how, but it makes the dizziness go away most of the time.

Thanks Rita, I did not even get notified of your response, so glad to hear it!

After a couple of sleepless nights, a half a jar of Vicks vapor rub , and a couple of boxes tissues later the worst seems to be behind me (or so I hope)

I will tell you, my sides are killing me from the constant coughing though, super sore muscles. Apparently this was a great work out for me haha.

And you know, I don't recall darts as ever being big in the U.S. Some do play darts in bars. (even though I know throwing sharp objects while being inebriated might not be the smartest thing to do) but they do it.

God richly bless you both

I could use a little advice, if any of you have any on neighbors dogs entering your home through your own rigged doggy door.

Okay, we use paracord / bungee cord attached to a hook and the handle of our front door, so that when our dog wants to come in she just pushes through it and it closes behind her (swings into the house). So instead of getting up and down to put her out and bring her in this just makes it less work for us. We just put her out and she comes in when she wants to.

Anyhoo, my neighbors dog (who comes over to play) watches what she does and has started to make himself right at home using our door in the same way she does. Sometimes gets trapped, because there are another set of doors to get into the living space of the home that I have closed (but sometimes they are opened for my own dog, if she is outside). So he ends up crying and hollering for someone to find him and when I am somewhere like in the shower, and he's trapped for a little bit, and he gets a little anxious and begins to eat the area rug (just bought a new rug for that area this week). Sometimes I hear him sometimes not, he just comes over at the most inconvenient times, and will make it into the living space, and sometimes when my dog is eating and shes not good about that, and a fight breaks out between them. He makes his way into her toy box to steal her stuff, He's such a goof really, no brains in his head at all, but theres something so adorable about him, he is still a pup so he has all this energy and does not know what the word "no means".

I think my neighbors keep him caged up all day and then when loose he comes to our house and pushes in the door and makes himself right at home. I dont mind him coming over but I would like to restrict his access to the house. I could likely do that for my own dog, but someone elses? I thought, maybe I could buy him an electric collar and have the front door wired for him only. That would require me telling my neighbor what he is doing and getting their permission, but if they lose the collar I am not going to be replacing it every time to prevent this. Its a thought, but is there an easier way maybe?

If you might have an idea how to better handle this, would love to hear your suggestions.

Thanks in advance
