Had a friend who went on vacay for something like a week. He came home to about the same amount of emails. He stared at his computer for a moment before deleting them ALL while proclaiming, "Nothing is THAT important."And the 288 unread work emails.
Thats me in July with my bug books trying to identify what critters are eating my stuff in our garden.Reading through the book “ Insects: Their Natural History and Diversity while petting my cat and after a few moments going back to my dumbbell shoulder pressing and occasionally scrolling while waiting for 10-15 minutes or my dirty dishes soaking before cleaning them to cook my veggie burger. It’s a pretty good book. I’ve read it twice. It’s only 700 pages. Read it for the first time years and years ago. It’s a general evolutionary history of insects and has a basic key to determining families .Thats me in July with my bug books trying to identify what critters are eating my stuff in our garden.
But with the exception of the veggy meats.

I’m on the opposite end. As someone who focused on evolutionary ecology to help develop stronger habitat systems to help combat biodiversity loss in this decaying of the environment and fragmentation of the wilderness I work on how to better save them. Me and a handful of others recently won a vote against the city im in being able to cut down a forest around a river in order to wider it by 3x and deepen it by almost 10x. Now they can’t and endangered mollusks were discovered in it.I am not too into bugs myself, I just want to know what to kill them with![]()

What I’m mostly into is botany intersecting with ecology though . Protecting a space saves more than a single species .
Most are not. Many don’t really understand environmentalism and are afraid of insects. They don’t understand ecology. It’s especially dominating in certain places like southeastern USA.I definately wouldnt be into that, or saving them.
