Rev 3:20 ‘Behold, I stand at the door and knock; if anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and will dine with him, and he with Me.

Is 30: 20,21 Although the Lord has given you bread of privation and water of oppression, He, your Teacher will no longer hide Himself, but your eyes will behold your Teacher. Your ears will hear a word behind you, “This is the way, walk in it, ”whenever you turn to the right or to the left.

The Lord came into my life back in 1999. The short testimony is that I woke up one morning and He told me "Read Your Bible", but of course there were things that lead up to it, after it, and even more happened in the moment. I have given that testimony at times. And it was 9 months before I finished reading the Bible, and many strange things started happening during that time, I really didn't hear from His voice in word during that time. I figured out, just a couple of months after reading the Bible, that indeed Jesus Christ is really there to talk to us via His Holy Spirit all the time!! Quite literally, it is possible to hear from him ”whenever you turn to the right or to the left."!!

It is not that any of us really do that all the time, but Jesus did! He explained that He did and said only what His Father tells Him, which is why He, and He alone, is the living Word of God. But we can talk to Him, anytime and anywhere, but it takes faith to believe it - and there is something written about according to your faith!

I once told Him point blank, "Lord is if often hard to hear You"!
He instantly responded to me, "Karl, It is easy to hear Me, but it is often hard to believe that."

You know what, that is true!!! It is easy to hear from Him, but it is usually hard to believe that." And if anyone doesn't understand that they are not being honest with themselves!

The Lord asked me this morning to start up this thread. And while I always like input, if you don't hear from Him, perhaps this thread is not for you. You need to start seeking Him and hearing from Him like Rev 3:20 says, and you should know that the first words recorded that snake said were 'did God really say'. Don't listen to that snake and ask the Father for the true bread that comes down from heaven, Him -Jesus Christ!

But for those who would like to honestly talk about a life walking and talking with Jesus Christ, this thread might be for you. I am going to go over highlights of my years with Him since back then. I hope it encourages other to actually seek Him, and enables people to compare and share. But it will take alot more posts. I hope you like them.

Now after I finished reading the Bible like He told me, and things were happening, I still did not understand about seeking His voice and hearing from Him. I had even asked for and gotten the gift of tongues, and still did not know I was able to seek Him and find Him. But He was even then, always standing at the door and knocking with His voice. I just did not understand yet.

I figured it out while driving to work one day. I was thinking about how everyone seemed to think they could talk to God inside themselves and He would hear them. And I thought that nobody would put in a one-way telephone line. So I decided to test this idea. I decided to ask Jesus Christ which lane of the freeway I should be in, because it really didn't make a difference, and consider what I picked up inside me.

So I prayed inside, "Jesus, which lane of the freeway should I be in?" And the thought that came back to me was, "You're ok."

Well, that just seemed like my thought - but why did it come back "You're", if it was my thought? Still, it was pretty inconclusive. So I tried it again and the same thing happened. So that didn't help.

A few miles down the road I could see a number of big trucks coming down the on-ramp ahead. It was a 4 lane freeway and I was in the lane next to the right lane where the trucks were coming on to. I needed to get over a lane, because the cars in the slow/right lane were going to start coming over a lane. Yet before I did that I remember that game I was playing and ask "Jesus Christ, what lane of the freeway should I be in?"

The thought came back to me, "Get in the right line."

I instantly got angry and said inside me, "I don't want to get in the right lane! I want to get in the left lane!!"

Then next thought was very calm and said, "Well, do you want to listen to me or not?"

So it was that I found myself talking to someone other than me, inside me. And if it was Jesus Christ, whom I had asked, I should listen and do what He asked. So I got into the right lane - after all it could only slow me down a bit and I had plenty of time to get to work.

And as I got in the right lane, all the trucks (about seven of them) all moved over a lane, so there was now only one car in the right lane (ME), and all the other lanes of the freeway slowed down and I went by everyone. AMAZING!! Could it really be that simple - that Jesus Christ was always there wanting to talk to us, but we just did listen?

I got so zealous for Him, that I started asking Him all kinds of questions about all sorts of things. That changed my life and how I approached it!

After I had figured out, while driving to work, that Jesus Christ could answer me inside if I asked Him inside and listened to what came to me, I started asking Him things everyday, and many times everyday. From that I learned a lot of things quickly, and those things are all discussed in the Bible.

For example Isaiah wrote:

Is 30: 21,22 Although the Lord has given you bread of privation and water of oppression, He, your Teacher will no longer hide Himself, but your eyes will behold your Teacher.
Your ears will hear a word behind you, “This is the way, walk in it,” whenever you turn to the right or to the left.

I hadn't thought about it before, but I figured out the Lord was there when I ask about which lane to be in, and while I was thinking the left lane, He said the right lane. This concept that the Lord will talk to us about even when to go left or right is not a concept I have every heard discussed from the front of a Chrisitan church.

The church tends to give us the idea that if God ever will talk to you it will be about something truly important and worthy for God to talk to you about. What they miss it that He, though God, is able to help you even down to the steps you take!

Ex 20:26 ‘And you shall not go up by steps to My altar, so that your nakedness will not be exposed on it.'

Deut 33:3 “Indeed, He loves the people;
All Your holy ones are in Your hand,
And they followed in Your steps;
Everyone receives of Your words.

2 Sam 22:37“You enlarge my steps under me, And my feet have not slipped.

I was asking Him what clothes to wear, who to hire, what displays to put up in the store. And what amazed me is that not only did He answer and help me with these almost silly questions of mine, but His answers so often lead to amazing things.

Here are a few incredible testimonies that resulted in just asking Him simple, almost silly questions.

One morning I asked Him what to wear and He told me to put on a light jacket that I had not worn in years! It was way in the back of my closest. So I pulled it out and wore it like asked. When I got to work to open the store (I was a retail manager at the time) it started to rain. Nobody had suspected it would rain, because we had been getting overcast mornings from the ocean, for a couple of weeks then. So everyone got wet that morning except for me, because that older jacket had a hood on it.

Another time He had me put on an extremely bright colorful Hawaiian shirt to wear to church one Sunday morning. Was I ever going to stand out, but I put it on. When I came through the door the pastor looked at me and laughed, because he too had put on an extremely colorful Hawaiian style shirt. He had done so because they just got back from a mission trip to African where he had picked up that shirt. Since he was going to be talking about the trip he was wearying the shirt and had already gotten the idea to hang it up in the church with other things from the trip.

And one of my favorite testimonies came from asking the Lord to help me hire a couple of new employees. I needed 2. So I picked up the large number of applications we had received, and ask the Lord to tell me who I should hire. Then one by one I flipped them over listening for the voice of the Lord. I must have had about 100 of them and had gone through a little more than halve when suddenly the Lord to me, 'that one.' So I pulled it and put it aside and continued. I only had about ten left when again the Lord told me, 'that one."

I asked Him if I should just bring them in an hire them or if I should interview them. He told me that interviewing them was part of my job and so I needed to do that. So I looked at the applications and honestly, they looked like applications I would have picked myself, and I would only choose about 1 out if every 10 applications to even consider hiring. Experience, availability, and other little things on applications would cause me to ignore most of them, but these two looked good. So, I called them in for an interview.

The first interview was excellent, as I went through it. This person had some retail experience, was very pleasant, and showed some stability and even some initiative. She was currently making and selling jewelry on her own also. So I was almost done with the interview when I asked her about her selling jewelry. She told me that she was making and selling spiritual stones and jewelry to new age and magic shops.

Oh my, I instantly told myself, because we do battle with the dark forces of this world. I had felt the Lord was going to get me a couple of good Christian employees that worked hard, but I was about to get a lady with heavy demonic influence in her life. So I quickly finished the interview and told her I would get back to her, then went to the office to have some quiet time with the Lord and check the spirits. (1 Jn 4:1-3) It checked out. It was Him who wanted me to hire this lady. So, I called her back up and she happily accepted the job.

I got it - He was thinking that perhaps He could use me to help her. But I told Him that certainly the evil spirits were going to figure out what He was up to. And right after that the phone rang for me, and she told me that she had changed her mind and didn't want the job. "Ok", I said and was thinking, 'nice'. I didn't want that trouble at work. But then the Lord spoke to me and told me to call her back and make sure. I did it, but I didn't want to. When I called I got her parents and told them that she had come in for a job and seem to at first want it but had changed her mind. I asked if she had already gotten another job or if there was something that I could say to change her mind. She told me they didn't know why she changed her mind, but would tell her I called back. So I thanked them.

So on to the next interview, which went really well. A bright cheery person with a wonderful smile and a sharp mind. She had even worked one summer at a church helping in the children's ministry. So I got her hired and she was a very good employee. But a couple of weeks after I had hired her, I was walking behind her check stand when the Lord told me, "Ask her where she is from." I came through so sudden and clear that it caught me off guard. But I told Him, "Lord she if from around here. She talks like she is from around here, acts like she is around here, and looks like she is around here." But He didn't respond so I figured I better ask her like He told me to.

When I did, she quickly and almost excitedly, started telling me how she was from Russia. ['RUSSIA', I was telling myself inside.] And she was now telling me how she and her family had come here from Russia because of religious persecution. [And I was now getting just blown away by the shock inside]. And she continued by telling me that they really had not experiences religious persecution, but because they were Jewish it was a good way to get to the United States. [JEWISH? WOW - He had me hire a Jewish girl from Russia]. And she just keep explaining - Well, her father was Jewish, but her sister was Christian, and she was Pagan, she explained. [ At this point I was so blown away, knowing that the Lord had known this all along. Still 'Pagan?}

So I asked her what she meant by "pagan"?

Well, she explained, she casts spells and reads Tarot cards.

Oh my - I had thought that when I asked Him for help hiring, He was going to get me a couple of hard-working honest Christians, but He had gone about trying to get me two people who could be good at the job but clearly had big demonic influences in their lives. By this and soooo many other things I learned from talking to Him, it turns out that no matter what you think; His thoughts are not your thoughts and His ways are not your ways! As high as the heaven is above the earth so are His ways above our ways!!!

Is 55"8 “For My thoughts are not your thoughts, Nor are your ways My ways,” declares the LORD.

We can read the Bible but still not understand it and how it all applies until you start walking and talking to Him!

BTW - The rest of the above testimony was as interesting as the above part, and I got to talk to her about Jesus Christ in an honest way - like in this thread. Still she left shorty there after, and I then asked the Lord for two Christian employees and He choose them for me also. BUTTTT - the first two were smarter, sharper, and the Christian employees had way more problems. One had a 'name it and claim it' attitude that really made it hard on his family. The other was so into fight demons, that she was always having problems and missed work often. So be careful about telling the Lord what is best!

After coming to know the Lord personally, and figuring out that I could talk to Him regularly, He wanted me to tell people that He wanted to talk to the personally also. He told me things like, "Karl, I am capable of having the same type of relationship with everyone that I have with you. Another time He told me, "Karl, I want you to preach the Word, but not as it is so often preached Today. I want you to preach I AM the Word of God." I was in the bathroom at the time getting ready to take a shower, and when He told me "I AM", I was hit with some power that started me falling to the floor. I was able to catch myself before I hit the floor, but just the understanding that He is also with us is so powerful that it will knock you off your feet.

He once hooked my up with an angel who went by the name "Allafraid". I call him Alfred, but he is Allafraid, because the message he brings is that we are all afraid to believe where we stand with God. That is to say that since we were all created by God, then we are as little prince and princesses to Him. And since God is love, He loves us. But we don't really believe that. So we don't seek the Lord our God, Jesus Christ, because we know inside we sin, and fail to understand that because He loves us sooooo much, He forgives that sin. He still wants us to talk to Him. If we do that He will help us, but because we don't believe that we are as little children of His whom He loves, we choose not to believe in Him. And that lack of belief that He loves us results in a fear of God that results in us telling ourselves that He is not there with us. The telling ourselves that God is not there and does not know all that is going on, is our way to keep from fearing Him, but is actually from fearing that if God exists we are in big trouble. This is why the actual recognition of our fear of God is the beginning of wisdom, because fearing Him means we have stopped denying He exists.

I don't think I explained it nearly as well as Allafraid did, but the point is that we are afraid to go looking for God because we think we would be in trouble with God if we did. The fact is that we are still His creation whom He loves so much that He has not yet killed us. And this explains why the revelation of Him as the I AM, floors us!

We have been telling ourselves so much, without even knowing it, that God does not exist, least we be in trouble with God, that the instant revelation that He does exist and is always with us sends us straight to the ground as dead men. Yet the understand that we did not die, because He loves us so much, even though we should have, results in the beginning of wisdom as in a correct fear of God. Yes, we need to fear Him, but also yes He loves us so that He wants to help us. That was the message that the angel Allafraid brought to me. It is also the understanding you get as you continue to talk the Lord personally.

You are not worthy to hear from God, but Jesus Christ is worthy and so His Father gave Him the words of God for you. You should die, but Jesus Christ died for you, because God so loved the world. And there should still be a fear of God in your, but that fear combined with an understanding of how much He loves you, should result in you seeking Him and listening to Him for help. If you are still leaning on your own understanding of the Bible instead of seeking Jesus Christ is all the areas of your life and listening to Him, then you are still afraid to understanding where you stand as little children of God. And frankly, we all have that fear in us, otherwise we would listen to Him all the time and see more miracles and examples of His love than we could imagine!
